My skin type: young adult with minor aging and many breakouts. oily but dry. I also have rosacea on my nose.

Before I tried this I used Olay's healthy defense sunscreen (even for night). It didn't break me out and it was safe for my rosacea. After 2 years of Olay, the lotion started to lose potency on my skin; it made my skin more oily and I got more breakouts. And so I had to switch.

Aveeno is a well-respected brand and so I decided to give it a try. The price is a bit expensive for drugstore brands. Since it doesn't have any sunscreen, I only use it as a night lotion. The first night of using it I noticed that it calmed my skin, but it also made my face a bit red overall. This was expected because that's what salyslic acid lotion does. This one only has 0.5%, which is quite mild, so the redness was gone after a few days. This lotion is not moisturizing enough. I am not a fragrance freak but the fragrance of this lotion is way too strong. If you have rosacea like me, don't put a lot on the area.

I've been using it for 2 months now. I think it prevents my face from general minor breakouts, but it's not strong enough to stop big ones (the ones due to stress, hormonal imbalance, etc). I wish it's a bit more moisturizing though.

It only can go so far to even out your skin tone. I think it helped a bit but it doesn't help with any acne scars. So now my scars look more prominent b/c other pts of my face is more even.
Texture-wise it doesn't help w, my skin is still blotchy and rough. IF only it make skin smooth.
So I guess the only PRO is it prevents minor breakouts.

This is the only moisturizer with salicycic acid that doesn't make my face feel tight or dry. It's actually very very moisturzing! I don't think it really helps prevent or treat my pimples though. I do breakout occasionally but then again I'm a college student so it might be from the stress and foods I eat; it's not from this though. I would definitely repurchase until I find a better moisturizer

Love this moisturizer! I've been using it for about two weeks now and my skin is looking clearer and more even already! I love that it is lightweight and sinks in quickly. The only problem I've had is that since I've been using it day and night, I think it has actually dried out the skin around my lips a little so I've had to apply lip balm more often. Otherwises, I love it!

I have oily and sensitive skin. I found it to be light enough to absorb quickly. A little went a long way. Only downside that I could find is that it is expensive @ $14.92

This product did nothing to help clear up my skin. Not only that, the lotion has an odd, almost waxy, texture, and balls up like mad. I like its green herbal fragrance and the pump packaging, but that's about it.

This product is the one I'll go back to when I'm not sure if a new moisturizer broke me out, because I know this one doesn't. I'm not sure why it's not working for other people but it doesn't hurt my skin at all. And it works rather well, I wouldn't say amazing. I waited awhile before reviewing, but honestly, I like this moisturizer. I think it helps me stay clear and it's very light so it doesn't feel like it's clogging my pores or anything.

Pros: Looks great on: dewey but not shiny or sparkly; packaging is hygienic.

Cons: pricey for DS brand; scent is OTT; made me break out!

I loved this the first two weeks (except the scent was a bit too much for a facial product, IMO), then WHAM, break out all over! I'm acne prone, but I don't have active breakouts.

This is the first drugstore moisturizer that I've bought in ages and I now I remember why I never bother with them. It has a really cheapy fragrance, feels like glue going on and balls up if I just touch my face. This makes me sad because I really thought this might work for me. :(

If I could only have one product...it would be this moisturizer. I was introduced to it a few years ago when my dad accidently bought it instead of regular lotion. I have used it day and night ever since. It lives up to just about everything it claims except kind of the main thing lol..it doesn't really clear acne, but will not worsen it. It makes my skin look so incredible that I don't even mind having acne-seriously! It blends out acne scars and improves my overall complexion INSTANTLY! if you leave it on overnight, you'll wake up with your complexion looking the best you've ever seen it!!

im re-doing this review. i do believe that this product helps with acne. BUT .. while it feels all nice, good smelling, has a pump, and feels matte upon first application ... about an hour or so later i am shiny and i can feel it. then i have to start blotting throughout the day again. as much as i like the first feel of the lotion, i kind of dont recommend it for oily skin. it smells really good though, and it has anti-acne properties. i would give it a try if you havent tried it, but it is kind of expensive so get it from somewhere they accept returns ... just in case.

not to mention the ingredients dont make it an exceptional product. the good things are the soy, dimethicone, and salicylic acid. and that it doesnt have oil or anything. but then i think the rest is all just filler ingredients. for the price i think you can get better. a multi-tasking lotion. like oil absorbing and moisturizing, or a lotion with spf, etc etc. (right now im using hourglass mineral veil primer with spf 15, its really good.)
