I first bought this because I really liked the Define-a-Lash mascara, but sadly this disappointed. It was really soft and easy to apply, but left me with raccoon eyes. The top line stayed pretty well, but the bottom liner sank at least 3 inches, giving me really black bags under my eyes. Don't buy it. It's not worth $6.
This eyeliner is very black. However, it smudges as soon as you apply it. You will need steady hands because it is so soft. Too bad. I think the color is great but there is a lot of room for improvement. If you have oily skin, this eyeliner is not recommended. Feels greasy when I apply it.
Pros:
- I like how it's a twist up
Cons:
- There is like NO product in the tube.
- It smudges like CRAZY at the end of the day, not in a sexy way- more like you're drunk with raccoon eyes way
- It doesn't last on the waterline
- It's SO HARD to remove, I even tried it with an oil based makeup remover, all it did was smudge a little. It finally got off my eyes 3 days later..
don't waste your money on this. it sucks. I prefer my $1 NYC eyeliner more. It's like $5 less. You get A LOT of product, it doesn't smudge && it's amazing. continued >>
I actually really like this Eyeliner! It's the first one I have used so I suppose I have nothing to compare it too, however it goes on so smoothly and it's not too thick which makes it ideal for school! As the day goes on it smudges a bit however I don't mind that, it makes it look a bit more smokey. If you apply it thickly, then use the smudger really lightly at the bottom of the line, I find it works a charm! I can't understand why people don't like it!
Dreadful. If I wasn't so poor, I would just throw it away (and I never just throw things away because it's so wasteful), but this eyeliner is crap. It smudges like crazy (and not in a sexy rockstar way, more like a drunken heiress way), has no staying power and will drip down and cause raccoon eyes. Oddly enough though, it's still kind of a pain to wash away, just smudges around. I recommend this to no one.
it goes on super smooth, maybe a little too smooth,
by the end of the day, its lying on the bottom of my lashes, i would apply it on the waterline. the color was good. it does last very long. i would say 2 hours or soo. you have to keep reapplying it. and i cant really do that when i am in school.
This is a nice eyeliner. Really pigmented and very long lasting. Its point is a bit too fine, but overall this is a good liner.
I am shocked by the horrible reviews on this product! i actually was never planning on trying this but I was an idiot and left my little makeup bag at my apartment for school which is about an hour away...yeah, I know!!! So I went out and bought a new eyeliner for the time being. I usually use Revlon Colorstay ($8.99) or L'Oreal HiP Loose Kohl Liner ($11.99) but didn't feel like paying that much for an eyeliner, so I saw the Maybelline Define-A-Line and decided to try it - it was $4. If it sucked, I wouldn't be so upset that I spent $4 on it.
PROS
+ packaging - I like the green color. kind of nice, I think.
+ it's a self-advancing eyeliner, which I love. I hate the traditional pencil ones that you have to sharpen.
+ it's got a smudger on the other end which is really nice.
+ the consistency is CREAMY - no tugging or pulling which is really nice! that's the one gripe I have my other liner. it goes on so smooth! and it's easier to smudge, too - it makes a really nice smoked out line.
+ the color is a TRUE black. some black liners tend to look kind of grayish and not very black but this one is BLACK. it's perfect.
CONS
+ no built-in sharpener. I like to have my liners have a little point but I can deal without it.
As for staying power, it's pretty good - it lasts all day! There is some more fading with this than Colorstay or L'Oreal but I still like this liner a lot. I wear this on my top lash line and I have oily lids. Im pretty impressed! And you can't beat the price!

People don't like this liner? It's my favorite! It applies so easily and it stays put. I have other eyeliners I like too, but they either melt too quickly or I have to apply a lot of pressure to get a solid line. And I'm so glad I can just go to the nearest drugstore and there it is. It's a really good eyeliner, I don't know why it's getting such bad reviews...
Wow this product is getting bad reviews, but I just love it! It goes on so easy, I love not having to sharpen it, and it's great to have a smudger on the other end of the pencil. I do have a slight problem with it getting under my eyes but nothing like everyone else is talking about, and it's no worse than any other liner that I've ever used. I used a Chanel eyeliner for awhile before I got tired of paying so much for something that didn't last long, and even that got under my eyes just a little bit. Years ago I started wearing an undereye cream beneath my foundation and that made my eyeliner smudge like CRAZY! I'd have raccoon eyes within a few hours. Now I only use an undereye cream at night, wash it off in the morning avoid any type of lotion or cream under my eyes in the morning and I don't have a problem with my eyeliner smudging. I use a powder foundation and use my finger to add just a tad more under my eye, mostly to add extra coverage to hide my dark circles but I notice this helps avoid any smudging as well. I work a 12 hour shift at work and every time I go to the bathroom I take a look and if there does happen to be any smudging, which usually there isn't until the last few horus of my shift, it's always minimal and one gentle wipe of my finger takes care of it.
