I will NEVER use any other mascara. Its best perk is that it will never run or need makeup remover. it coats the lashes and only nneeds water to remove..and pulls off with your fingers very easily. so it is not "waterproof" but if you get them wet on accident or shed a few tears..just dont wipe and let it air dry and u will not have a problem. def. one of a kind and will never ever flake. length and thickness is awesome..if u dont want a thick look, just go light on the primer.
Several of my friends have been raving about "tube" mascara, this was a BOGO sale at Ulta so I thought I'd give it a try.
I'm totally converted! I'm loving the tube mascara! It stays on all day, does not flake off into my eyes like all my previous mascaras - I was so fed up with picking globs out of my tear ducts with q-tips every night. I don't have this problem with Beauty Tubes.
I have bad seasonal allergies and my eyes are so watery and itchy right now and sometimes I just can't help but rub my eyes...Beauty Tubes hasn't smudged yet for me. And washing off with just warm water is fantastic because my sensitive eyes and skin could never tolerate makeup removers.
Besides just wearing well, the beauty tubes look great, too. This formula really seems to make my lashes look much longer. I think next time I repurchase I'll go with black (rather than brown/black) to get a more dramatic darker lash but otherwise, I'm very happy with how long and thick my lashes look.
Will definitely repurchase. This stuff is great.
This mascara is AMAZİNG. It doesn't smudge at all and when it does (had a spontaneous hamam visit once, and due to the moisty heat it did come off slightly) you don't get 'panda eyes' but can just whipe it away.
Even when you use it in the morning and go to a party at night that lasts till dawn, it doesn't come off!
It's also VERY easy to remove, either with running warm water or just a wash cloth with hot water. I just put the warm wash cloth on my eyes for a few seconds and can then just whipe the tubes off. NO lashes that fall out due to aggressive rubbing, NO mascara bits that weren't visible at night but make you wake up with dark lines under your eyes in the morning, but just very clean and healthy eye lashes with the use of hot water ONLY.
It gives a rather natural effect if you use little and doesn't give you thick lashes that stick together or lashes that look shiny black. If you do want such an effect for a night out, just go over your lashes again. The lengthening effect is also worth mentioning. When using the white one first, you can really see it sort of builds up on the top of your lashes, creating a long black lash when going over it with the black one. I already have pretty long lashes, but this makes the result look stunning. Really good for people with short lashes Id say!
The price is somewhat expensive for a drugstore mascara, but compared to brands like Dior it's a fair price, and definitely worth the money anyway.
AMAZING. The best drugstore mascara I've had so far.
I've tried nearly every drugstore mascara MUA raves about - Falsies, Voluminous, Grow Luscious. Of course, I tried Beauty Tubes LAST.
This mascara is amazing. I don't have incredibly oily lids, incredibly short or LONG lashes. They aren't naturally incredibly thick or even incredibly sparse. To put it short, I'm pretty average.
But this mascara makes my lashes look miles long. It also never clumps and I never need a second coat (I'm not big on second coats anyways). Best part is that while it isn't waterproof, it never smudges or flakes and it comes off easily with my MAC Cleanse Off Oil.
I seriously love this mascara to death. If you're looking for a great, drugstore priced tubing mascara, this is a great one to start with!

Finally I found a mascara that doesn't smudge for me! I work long hours and every mascara I have tried leaves me with smudges under my eyes (and I have tried a ton of mascaras, DS and HE). I got compliments on my eyes the first day I wore it. Also, very easy to remove as well. I love this mascara!
After reading the reviews for this product, I am concerned about basing a purchase decision from these reviews! This mascara is awesome! L'oreal has used a new technology so it is DIFFERENT than other mascaras.
I am so surprised by reviewers who complained about being difficult to take off and am surprised more people haven't praised how easy it is to remove. It's called tube technology. Ladies--your eyelashes are not coming out when you remove this mascara. Its the mascara that is coming off. You don't NEED makeup remover. That's why I LOVE this mascara!!! TO REMOVE: get your fingers wet, gently pull the tubes off your eyelashes. The flakes you see are rubbery...not your eyelashes. ha wow. No more smudges and no more ponds cold cream
I bought this after reading that this mascara didn't smudge--and it doesn't. Not even if I've moisturized around my eyes, put on sunscreen, and then foundation. My eyelashes didn't look amazing, but didn't look bad either.
But I'll keep buying this because the "tube" formula doesn't smudge, even after a long work day, and still washes off easily.
This first looked like a really neat mascara, and after watching the commercials many times I decided to try it out with my mum. Well I tried to make this work for me but it just didn't. I always ended up with clumpy, spidery lashes. Pretty sure my mum had the same results. One thing I do like about this mascara is it comes off with just warm water.
I have fairly long and full eyelashes, which are, unfortunately, totally invisible. I also have a problem with continually leaking eyes due to being allergic to the world in general. Almost every time I check my eye makeup, I have black smudges under my eyes from my waterproof mascara (and yes, I have tried all the drug store brands of waterproof mascara!)
I so wish I had known about this type of mascara before last week! It is awesome! It does an excellent job as long as I put the base coat on immediately after the primer (I do one set of lashes at a time, and do not use primer on the bottom lashes.) And.... drumroll.... I can wear this mascara all day and my eyes look exactly the same at night as they did in the morning! I'm not kidding! No smearing, smudging... and I can even sleep in it, then just wash it away in the shower!
I am giving this a 5 because it gives me what no other mascara has ever given me - dark, beautiful, natural looking lashes that stay that way all day. However, I can see where it might not work so well for those with very short or thin lashes because you can't really build it up with multiple coats - I think that's why they include a primer. I also think it will dry out faster than other mascaras (based on the fact that I have already had to clean away a glob of dried mascara from the opening and have had to wipe off the wand because there were a few dried pieces on it as well.) Also, I wish the wand were a little smaller to get at the corner lashes better.
But these are minor quibbles given that this stuff is as close to a miracle to me as makeup has ever come. And at only $9!
I would like to add, that it does take a little practice to learn to apply this correctly. It has to be treated differently than your regular mascara. But after using it for only a week, I cannot tell the difference (look wise) between this and my old standby, Lashblast.
**edited 12/11** After going through 2 tubes of this stuff, I branched out and tried Clinque's Lash Power Long Wearing mascara. It is really superior to the L'Oreal. The brush gets to all my lashes better, it actually builds (although you have to be careful of spider lashes) and it is (amazingly) even longer lasting! I am reducing the L'Oreal to 4 stars. It is still a good mascara, but, imho, Clinique is just better.
***I have short, sparse, hard to curl Asian lashes.***
My skin is so oily that all mascaras smudge on me, it's only a matter of time. I nearly gave up on trying any more mascaras...
And then I met my one true, almost-HG mascara: L'Oreal Beauty Tubes
Want to know how much I loved this? After trying it out for a few days, I went back and bought TWO back-ups. It was love.
This stuff has not ever smudged on me. I've worn it for over twelve hours and it's still making my lashes look awesome. The secret is the tubing technology- It forms a black plastic-like coating that covers your lashes. This makes your lashes feel kind of heavy, but I LOVE it, makes me feel like I'm wearing false lashes.
But the part that makes the lazy girl in me happiest is the fact that it comes off with just water. Yep. Simple warm water makes the tubes slide off your lashes in less than a minute. This is amazing for my sensitive eyes that get so red after rubbing off stubborn mascara.
So why isn't it my HG? Well, this amazing mascara comes with cons. Really big cons.
1. It flakes. I get about 8-12 hours wear before it starts to flake a little. Not enough to bother me, but still. I've noticed that it flakes more when I put too many coats.
2. It kills your curl. Whether I use the primer or not, my lashes go back to being stick-straight. Other mascaras are much better at keeping my curl, but they smudge on me or are hard to wash off, so the choice is still a no brainer for me.
EDIT: After switching to a new eyelash curler, realized mascara isn't a complete curl killer, only kind of.
3. You won't get much length/volume with this mascara. It makes a natural, everyday look- my lashes definitely look longer and fuller, but it's not a dramatic change.
4. There is a definite learning curve with this mascara. It can get clumpy really fast. You have to play around with it- Use the primer, skip the primer, wait for primer to dry before using black side, use black side immediately, do one eye at a time, do both eyes, etc.
5. The packaging is really bulky and stupid. It would be better if it were in two separate tubes.
After some trial and error, I found this works best for me:
-first curl lashes
-use white side on both eyes, try to use as little as possible, mostly at the base of lashes
-quickly swipe black side on top of primer, work fast. Once this dries you can't add more coats
-look down for about 20 seconds so it can dry
EDIT: I find skipping the primer works best and I swipe the black side carefully from roots to tips, no wiggling which clumps my lashes together.
*I worried that sweat would also make my mascara come off, but no worries. Sometimes I'm still wearing my mascara when I exercise. I get very sweaty, sweat drips down onto my eyes, but it doesn't budge the mascara. I think it's because I didn't rub my eyes, and the sweat is very little water. No idea what happens when you cry or get caught in the rain or go swimming? Haha
Bottom line is I still love this mascara, it's the cheapest tubing mascara out there, and it would be too expensive to replace a $30 blinc or trish mcevoy mascara every 3-6 months. I would definitely repurchase and recommend this mascara to others with oily skin or to make-up newbies who want a natural, fuss-free mascara. If you have no problem with oily skin, then you lucky, lucky... bird. Haha Try something more dramatic.
I give it more like 3.5/5.
