I don't know why this product received so many bad reviews, but my experience with this has been excellent. I bought the Tan set (Golden, Almond, and the Tan finish), and I have to say it matches my southeast Asian skin tone very very well. I used Bare Minerals before and it doesn't have the yellow/golden undertones that my skin needs - Sheer Cover has it.
The concealer's awesome; I just use my fingers and it covers up blemishes perfectly. The minerals give amazing coverage...a little goes a long way. Upon application, my face looked a little powdery but five minutes into it my skin looks flawless.
I don't recommend this for people with oily skin, as it does tend to make your skin oily throughout the day, but a little blotter is all it takes. For me, it does last all day and do not need to reapply. Also, if you have dry skin like me, I recommend putting on moisturizer/SPF beforehand.
I gave it 4/5 because the service is a little odd. If you purchase online like I did, you are automatically enrolled in a club in which they send you a new supply every 3 months or so until you cancel over the phone, and they automatically charge your credit card.
If you think Bare Minerals is too sheer, try Sheer Cover. It's excellent.
For me sheer cover, is a great product. I got the kit, and for me is wonderful. I've had this product about 2 years now and i have never breaking out with this product. The only problem i have with it is that i have dark circles under my eye, and the conceler really doesn't work best with it. But it is well to hide blemishes. It makes my face have a smooth look and it last all day. I would buy this product again.
I liked that Buff matched my skin tone really well because it's got a nice yellow undertone to it. I love how smooth it goes on my skin and I don't have to use a lot of the product to get a very natural look. Unfortunately, it didn't last all day and it eventually made me breakout. I would give this 3.5 if I could because it is quite comfortable to wear and goes on very smoothly and looks very natural on me, however it does not agree very well with my skin. I will not be repurchasing this because of the cons.
Sheercover overall is good product however it contain Bismuth Oxychloride which tends to make my skin itchy. On flip side, it has perfect match to my skin tone, easily blendable, affordable(since i bought it from ebay) and lasts at least 3-4 mnths.
The intro kit ("light") was at a special price of $29.99 and loaded with goodies so I thought "what do I have to lose?" Three weeks of anxious waiting and my little box of supposed miracles arrived.

About Me: 45 year old with very pale, sensitive, slightly freckled skin with large visible pores.
Mineral Foundations - Nude was barely noticeable in cololur, but didn't impress me. Bisque was simply way too dark. The coverage was sheer at best despite what the infomercial says. The sparkle was overpowering making my skin look greasy from the moment it was applied. Oh, and the commentaries from others in the infomercial that they can't even tell that they are wearing foundation ... HAH! Ok, maybe it's just my skin but I felt like I was wearing a mask from the get go. I ended up washing it off only 15 minutes after application.
There was a tester included in the kit with all the mineral foundation shades (you know, the type on paper). It turns out that I am a Frost, and the product matches the name ... light, and sparkly.
I really purchased the kit for the supposed amazing concealer that covers dark circles completely. Well, that's what the infomercial said. The verdict - not a miracle. The Medium was more like Dark for me. The Light side was useable. Yellow in base it has better than average coverage. The product booklet in the kit shows that they have an Extra Light - if only I had known I would have requested this instead. As far as use ... I'm using it right now, but definately wouldn't repurchase. Living in Canada it's just not worth the shipping charges, exchange etc. If it was a great product, I'd have no qualms with repurchasing, but my dark circles peeking from beneath the product says "don't bother."
But hey, there is light at the end of the tunnel. The brushes that came with the kit work great. The kit also came with a Conditioning Cleanser and Nourshing Moisturizer. I haven't tried the moisturizer, but I really like the cleanser. Not only is my skin oily, but it's also sensitive. Even so called gentle cleansers can irritate. But this cleanser removed even my mascara without irritating my skin. And it felt nice and clean, but not stripped. It's been a week and so far no breakout (usually I know after the first use or two). The only problem is the cost - 14.95US for members, 24.95US for non-members. I cancelled my membership so for 24.95US plus exchange plus shipping, the cost is just a little too much for a cleanser so I'll have to find something comparable.
I called the company to cancel my membership (they send you more product every 90 days - or sooner or later if need be). The woman was very nice when she said they would replace the colours they sent with another colour (aka lighter) but I figured it took 3 weeks to get it in the first place, the foundation is too glittery even if it matches my skin, and the cost to me to send it back wasn't worth my bother.
Well, I really wanted this to work out for me like all those people on the infomercials and some of my friends but my face broke out after using this. I am trying Everyday Minerals now and I am hoping it won't cause break out
After unfortunately ignoring everybody's complaint that bismuth oxychloride makes you break-out and that most people are allergic to it, I've just found out I'm one of those allergic to bismuth! It makes you get little bumps all over and it itches horribly! And it smells bad and the 2 shades aren't easy to blend like they want you to believe! This is going back first thing tomorrow!
I've tried almost all of the mineral foundations and this one most def. works the best. I love how the kit includes a cream concealer that really covers blemishes and other skin flaws. The powder is sheer yet gives me complete coverage unlike bareminerals which tends to be a little cakey at times. I definitely recomment trying this product. :)
Better coverage than other mineral foundations I've tried. Almost too much coverage but definitely a decent product.
I received the kit in light/medium as a present. I'm fair skinned and the lightest shade in the kit is too dark and orange. It made my pores look bigger and emphasized lines I didnt even know I had. As far as coverage goes, I failed to see how the light/medium concealer was supposed to work on fair skin. My face looked ok from a distance, but looked dry and powdery up close. The spokesperson (Leeza Gibbons) looks really white, so I thought it would work for me as well. They must make a special light shade for her lol
