I was pleasantly surprised with this mascara. Now, I think saying that it gives you the effect of false lashes is kind of a stretch. It's a really good mascara for me, it builds great volume and length. However, I'm not lacking in the lash department either so that may have a lot to do with it. I've always been a fan of Maybelline mascaras, they're my go-to brand.

i bought this product and couldnt wait to use it when i saw the commercial but what a joke commercial had fake lash inserts i put the mascara on it took me multiple coats to look good but even then it looked clumpy and wet and the mascara was extremley hard to removei ended up lossing some eyelashe

I probably would give this mascara a better review if it weren't for the outrageous claims it makes. I mean, it's a decent (sort of... not really) drugstore mascara. Nothing special. I wouldn't repurchase it either way. But the fact that it claims to give a false lash effect is a joke. If Maybelline thinks this is a "false lash" effect, someone needs to donate a tube of YSL faux cils to the creators. Then they'll know what a real mascara is supposed to do.

Not sure why so many people have a hate on for this product... it's pretty decent compared to higher end mascaras! It gives pretty thick lashes and mine are pretty stumpy to begin with. Love it!

I bought this mascara in August....At first, I really liked this mascara. However, the formula is very wet and clumpy. It made my lashes look very spidery...Today, I put it on, surveyed my lashes, then immediately threw this mascara out. I threw it out because I've had it for a little under 3 months, and because I hate how it made my lashes look. I will never purchase again...I recently bought the Sephora lash stash so hopefully I will find an HG mascara there!

I'm not all that impressed with this mascara. It does make my lashes fuller and longer, but not anywhere near what the name would imply. I have a lot of lashes that are already really full and long, and while this does add a bit of length it clumps everything up pretty badly. It makes me look like I have a lot less lashes than I do without any mascara on. As far as mascaras to give you the false lash look, I prefer CG Lashblast or Rimmel Sexy Curves (or Diorshow for HE). I'll continue to use this while I have it, but I won't buy it again.

The name should be "The Falsies Advertising" Or "Now I Know Why I REALLY wear Falsie Eyelashes". This mascara is garbage.
False advertising. Does NOT make your lashes look as though you have falsies on. Would not buy again. Going online and ordering more of my beloved Model21 false eyelashes. HAD to give this one lipstick b/c I could not put review through unless I added a lipstick. It really deserves minus a lipstick.

LOVE this mascara! I only paid $5 at Target and it does wonders for my short, sparse lashes. My only complaint would be the brush... I have small eyes, so the brush being curved like it is made application somewhat interesting, but it was not enough of an issue to deter my from using this everyday! LOVE love love it!!

Firstly I like the packaging, it's attractive and large without being overly chunky, I like funky packaging and this ticks the right boxes for me.

Maybelline are also my number one choice for drugstore mascaras.

The mascara itself is easy to apply, I like the spoon shaped brush although I find it tricky to reach right into the corners. I like the formula although it clumps on me if I don't comb my lashes through with a seperate lash comb. I also find this mascara doesn't layer very well but on days where it applies nicely, I love the result and it leaves me with very dark,black lashes that are volumised and lengthened, although nowhere near flase lash effect.

For a drugstore mascara I think this is a tad on the expensive side (retailing around £8 in the UK) and the results are very hit and miss, one day it can look great and one day it's a clumpy mess. This needs alot of care on application and I find I have to make the extra effort of using a lash comb therfor I would not replace this once my tube runs out.

This is a boring, not exceptional at all mascara. It doesn't make your eyes look as if you have false eyelashes on and it doesn't lengthen or do much else. I have good lashes and the best yet is Maybelline Lash Discovery. The brush on this is ok since you always have to start at the bottom of your lashes and work your way up but these larger brushes just don't make the product easy to work with,,,,,pass
