I was impressed when I asked the price of this brush, but still got it. And now I swear it's worth all I paid for it!
I forgot all my blush brushes and now I only use this one. It's absolutely great for Nars blushes, specially the pigmented ones. I just got it for that and it works wonders!
For not-so-pigmented blush, the 187 brush gives a soft and natural application wich I love.
I'm even thinking about buying another one for the skinfinish!!
So far, this brush has been great! No more heavy handed blush applications, which I am prone to. I put on 3 layers and still don't have on as much blush as I usually do with one layer using MAC #129. It's pricey at $40, but completely worth it IMO.
This is a wonderful brush. So soft and it really does pick up just the right amount of color. I would rather layer my color on than have to take it off. It is pricey, yes, but my guess is that this brush will last me a VERY long time.
I am so glad the ladies here recommended this. I have been using alot of pigmented blushes lately (Shu P19d and P 58D) and they were just too pigmented to apply. I bought this and it was perfect. I can't believe I went so long without it!
The SA at MAC talked me into this when I was buying my skinfinish and I am so glad she did. It gives a perfect light appliction with any powder/blush you are using. I use it with my skinfinish and also with my NARS blushes. It is a densely packed skunk brush that is so soft and easy to use. I recommend not using baby soap/shampoo to clean this b/c the hairs in the brush will become fluffy. I know MAC brush cleaner is a little steep for some but it is so worth it especially if you have such nice brushes. And a little of the cleaner goes a long way.
Wow. Just wow. This brush is amazing. I never used to wear blush because i could never get it to look right. I would apply either too much or it would look to stripey or whatnot. This brush makes application a breeze. It is a skunk brush, a la Lancome's, but it packed more densely with the white bristles and so feels fuller and lusher. The handle is bigger and heavier and you can use this to apply blush/bronzer/powder as lightly or heavily as you want and it is totally worth the price.
My favorite brush for those super pigmented NARS blushes (Exhibit A, Taj Mahal, Crazed). Also perfect for applying irridescent loose powders by depositing just the right amount so you don't glow in the dark. Highly recommend!
I don't use this as a blush brush but as a foundation brush for cream and liquid foundation. I dip it in the foundation, swirl it on the back of my hand to remove excess, then brush it on and my skin looks airbrushed, incredible! Much easier to blend then with a conventional foundation brush. Try it, it really works!
No more heavy-handed blusher applications since I invested in my lovely MAC # 187 Stippling brush. It controls and deposits my blusher so well for my skin - and its so subtle and gentle. It has a ring of light-colored hairs around the outside that are quite a bit longer than the rest of the hairs, and the result is so good!
I love this brush. At first, I wasn't quite sure what to do with it. I mean, it's a "weird" brush. At the time, I was into buying brushes and decided that I must own at least every brush type.
But, alas! My holygrail everyday brush. I use this to apply blot powder, my select sheer powder and powder blush. I love the soft hairs on this brush.
The base is packed while the tip is densely packed which allows for color achievement. It creates a flawless finish when used with powders and blushes, it deposits the amount you'd like without getting the color everywhere and using too much product. I think everyone should own a similar brush. It creates a very "finished" look. Of course, there are many cheaper versions of this brush, but if you can afford (40.00 USD) the price of this brush, go for it. It is money well spent.
Washing it gave me no problems either. The tips are white (hence skunk brush) and plain ole handwashing liquid or mild shampoo does the trick. A definite repurchase if I should ever need one.
