This foundation and NARS Sheer Glow are not, I repeat NOT, worth the hype or the high price tag. Yes, they are both the only foundations that I have a found a perfect match for my yellow-olive complexion but both made me breakout. MUFE HD also disappeared on me after 4 hours and pooled in my pores making them more noticeable. Since I have oily skin, I purchased MUFE primer and powder to go with it and it STILL disappeared and pooled on me! The coverage was light to medium and I could still see my acne scars after I applied this with a MAC 187 brush. Right now, I have an almost full bottle of #127 collecting dust on my makeup vanity.
I bought this foundation because I was told it was first of all my "right" colour, and second for oily skin. Both things were not true at all. I'm super fair, NW15 is too dark for me in the winter but if I really tan I'm around NW15-NW20. The Sephora lady gave me the lightest shade in 115. THIS IS ORANGE ON FAIR SKINNED PEOPLE O.O!!!!! Even if I mixed it with my super light foundations, it would transform into a orange-paste :( On the possitive side of things, the packaging IS LOVE. I loveeeee the pump, the cap, close's very nicely! Also it didin't exactly keep my oily skin at bay but...in my case im very oily so not much can be done for that. I wouldint mind this product as much if I were more tanned and had some extra cash. Doesnt please me too much to spend 50$ on a bottle of foundation.
I hated this foundation. It was SO liquidy and didn't even last longer than 3 hours. I have blemishes on my cheeks and the foundation couldn't cover it up for shiz! Returned. Never again. So disgusting.
This foundation is best applied with your finger tips, i find that it blends a bit more easily if you use your fingers. the warmth of your fingers help the foundation melt into your face for easier blending. This leaves my skin looking dewey and it evens out my skin tone. I kind of had this 'glow' to my face once applied. i use a very light hand with this because with me, a little goes a long way.
I have used this on and off for about a year, it never has broken me out and its a very buildable foundation. I prefer a lighter coverage so i use a very little squirt so this bottle will last me quite a awhile.
I have yellow undertones in my skin but I ended up getting the color for light skin with biege undertones. Inside and in pictures my skin looks beautiful with this foundation on. When I step outside in the daylight the foundation is very obvious and looks very thick. Its definately better to wear this for a night out. My skin is on the dry side so I dont know how this would hold up on oily skin. The annoying thing about this foundation is it feels wet and sticky on my face for a good half hour after I apply it, even with powder on top. I'm still not sure if I would repurchase. PS I apply this with the sephora natural foundation brush which works perfectly with liquid foundations.
i wanted so badly to like this product. i do a lot of online researching before i buy any kind of makeup product, and there were so many positive reviews and raves on this product that i went and spent a whopping $100 on the foundation, primer, and their powder.
first of all, there are so many colors to choose from. this can be a good thing, but it also makes it a bit hard to find the one just right for you. i'm very pale, but i have a lot of freckles and red skin and i ended up returning this two times to try and find my right shade (still haven't found it).
it does not last. i live in arizona, so yes, it's hot, but i'm indoors mostly. after even less than an hour, i get this very strange blotchy/streaky/fading look on my face (especially my nose and upper lip) and it looks awful! my skin is not oily or anything, so it's not because of that. i tried numerous methods of application and all ended up with the same result - that very weird effect.
some pros though:
- it doesn't cause breakouts. i'm young, and very acne-prone, but this did not cause any major breakouts.
-it's very smooth on the skin. it's the opposite of drying; it's very moisturizing and nice on my face.
-it covers pretty well. although it does fade, for the time that it is on it covers well and i did not need concealer
overall, i'm dissapointed. this product is very highly talked about and it just didn't work for me. i'm going to be returning it tomorrow to try nars.
I really wanted to try and review this product thoroughly, but it's hard to find the right color. Uhm, there are only pictures of womens' faces and a corresponding number in front of the bottles at Sephora (is this just done in CA?). Maybe it's just me but I found the display slightly offensive. I didn't want to give up easily so the second time I looked at this line, I went through about 6 colors to try to find the right one. What a mistake and waste of time.
Please get your marketing team off of Sesame Street tactics and list descriptions of colors v. a photo. The foundation was disgustingly goopy on my hand when I applied it. Would not even put it close to my face. I adored MUFE in high school, but I wouldn't try it anymore.
I have acne probe skin and a lot of scarring from breakouts. This foundation does the trick. It is a little dry, but my face looks flawless when I use it. I've re-purchased several times. Until I find something better, this is my hg foundation.
I purchased this foundation about a month ago and really have been trying to like this product. It didn't work out how I wanted it to though. It does look nice on your skin, but if you are looking for coverage, this is not the foundation you want at all. It's very sheer and doesn't cover anything. I've heard good things about this foundation and wondered why. So basically if you have perfect skin than yes use this, it kind of seems like a tinted moisturizer if anything. If you want to spend $40 on a foundation, then your skin should look flawless, and this was not worth the $40. I will not be purchasing this again.
i FINALLY caved and bought this product after literally over a year of deliberation. i hesitated because there were no real color matches for NC 15, but i got the 115 (i think? the yellow based one) which was a bit too dark, but since it is summer and i am getting a bit more tan, it matches me very well now. the formula is great- very lightweight, satin and soft feeling. it doesn't accentuate any problems on my skin and looks very natural if applied right. the coverage is really great, too. i am not entirely sold, though, because in the heat it doesn't stand up very well (blah, summer) even with a good base. i get the best results when i put a bit of my mac face and body on top of it for some reason (maybe because it is waterproof) mostly i like this if i am going out at night and it is cooler, because it looks great, covers everything and applies quickly and easily. i just wish it lasted longer and was more affordable....i'm going to try nars sheer glow next.
