Despite having other MAC concealors, I'm not overly impressed with this. First of all I was colour matched incorrectly by the MUA as an NW25, which in the shop light seemed ok, but when I tried it at home and looked in natural light it was waaaay orange and dark. So I returned it and got an NW20 instead which although its a tiny bit light, I think it will be fine for winter when I'm paler.
The thing I dislike most about this concealor is that its really thick and hard to apply without warming it up by putting it in your pocket or something- and this is during summer, I'm definitely not keen to use it in winter..
I'm not going to repurchase due to the super thick consistency which creases easily under the eyes, and since I don't feel the colour matches as perfectly as I would want it to.
i really like this i use nc20 and i covers evrything i want it to freckles blemishes etc a stable product in my collection
I have horrible acne scars and leftover red blemishes all over my face, and this is now my go-to concealer. Is this better than other concealers? I don't know, but it totally works for me. I got studio finish because of the SPF, no other reason. The other cream MAC concealer might be just as good. I use NW20 to cover up my red spots, even though I know you're supposed to use a yellow based one, like NC20, to cover up red spots. I found the NC20 too pale for me. The NW20 works really well though, regardless of correctness or not. I feel like the packaging in the little pot gives it more of a chance to dry out. As I have the product longer and use it more, it seems to be getting slightly more dry. But it still applies nicely.
I use small filbert brushes by loew cornell or a no-name concealer brush, and it covers up all my spots fairly well. This is how I do it for optimal red spot coverage: using my small filbert brush, I dab the concealer onto all my red spots. Then with my no-name concealer brush, which is a bit fuller and stiffer, I use the tip of that to smoosh and blend the concealer in. It's amazing how well this technique works at covering up all the red. It can look slightly cakey at times so don't apply too much, but really, I'm not asking for miracles, just to look less crappy. I'm quite happy with it and it's not expensive to me for how well it works. I'd pay much more for a perfect holy grail concealer. As of now, this is pretty much my HG.
Looove this concealer! Just got mine today. I bought it in NC45 which is a near perfect match, but close enough! It offeres medium to full coverage, very buildable. I usually use special brushes to put concealer on, but with this, my fingers are good enough! I really love it!
EDIT: OMG this + oil = creasing. But a little bit of powder on top never hurt anyone. ;P
With this product, I don't care if I have a pimple. I apply a little bit with my fingertip and the redness from the pimple is completely gone, although you can still see a bump there...but that goes with any concealer. This is the best concealer I have ever used and a little goes a long way. I have never done this before but I'm going to buy a second pot, just to keep in my makeup bag for on-the-go touch ups because near the late afternoon the coverage starts to ween.
Edit: Sometimes if I apply loose powder on top, the coverage is not so opaque anymore. I think that it just takes some time to set.
this product has good coverage for blemishes, but when i apply it under my eyes it can accentuate fine lines after a few hours. that's why i only gave this product a 3. i think it's kind of over rated.
It does have a thick texture which can be a little hard to apply, but i guess that is what gives it such a good coverage. It has a good colour match and stays on, i really love this product compared to other brands i have tried.
I love the coverage of this concealer for under-eye circles, but the texture gets a little too cakey and heavy for me - too much of the reverse raccoon effect. After a lot of experimenting with different combinations I landed on a half and half mixture of Studio Finish SPF 35 in NC20 and the Select Cover-Up in NC20. When you mix the heavier Studio Finish with the liquid Select Cover-Up, you get the blendability of the liquid with the coverage of the cream. Itís great. It disappears right into my skin and lasts all day. I use my fingers to apply because the heat helps it melt together and blend out more easily. I recently featured the combination on beautycall: http://bit.ly/fYm9m
LOVE IT!!!!! Well worth the price! I found the PERFECT match for my very fair, pinky skin (NW15) and love the coverage. I have trouble finding a good concealer because they all look yellow on me. I will DEFINITELY re-purchase this! I highly recommend this concealer -- for undereye circles, blemishes, etc. THE BEST!!
im using this in C25 but i guess its quite light compared to my skintone as i told the SA im using it without foundation.
its alright, wouldnt say its GREAT but decent enough.
ive been using mine to cover up my scars for blemishes , bought it 4 months back, and there's still like maybe 70% left.
im gonna get a concealer brush to use with it soon for better results.
quite expensive for those on tight budget
