i was so excited to try this product but it was a huge dissapointment. i have combination skin and the foundation looks TERRIBLE if you skin is even remotely dry it flacks and cakes... terrible. it makes those dry areas look even worst then before make up. in oilier areas it looks pretty good except for the fact that it accentuates pores to the max. amazing coverage no need for a lot of concealer. but looks very unnatural especially in has lighting, you must blend A LOT inorder to not get streaks and foundation lines. horrible foundation. will not buy again. do not recommend.
I actually got this foundation with the HD primer and the HD powder because I had to take senior pictures and the foundation I was using usually did not come out that great in pictures. I have to say I absolutely love this product. Of course a product like this will be differently viewed by everybody because not everybody is in the same position. I bought this, thinking I will invest on this product for a photogenic senior year and I think this really might grant me that.
THE GOOD THINGs about this product are the weight, the coverage, the blendability, color selection, and packaging. It really is super light weight. You don't feel like there is foundation on your face while you are wearing it. It also gives very good coverage for being so light weight. It is not necessarily full coverage but you won't need so much concealer. If you do need a full coverage foundation, this may not be the product for you. Also, this foundation blends super well. It does not at all look blotchy or streaky. Another good thing is that there is such a big range of shades. My shade is 120 for summer and it's perfect on me. Finding the right shade for me is super hard because the least bit of pink undertone in a foundation will look super orange on me. I have a yellow-olive undertone so pink foundations look hideous on me. However, when they say yellow based, they mean yellow based. You can find out the undertone of each shade in the sephora website. It really is your skin is a bottle. I also love the final touch with the pump. This way, you won't waste any of your $40 foundation. Speaking of pumps, one pump is all you need for your whole face. 1 and a half max. I use one pump for my face and neck.
THE BAD THINGS about this foundation is obviously the price. Because this foundation is so expensive, I cannot afford to wear this everyday. I am still in high school and I don't have a job so I cannot afford to wear a $40 foundation everyday. I save this for special occasions. I have not found a cheaper foundation that is as good as this but I don't really think this good of a quality is really necessary for everyday anyway. The second thing is the massive packaging. Yes, it is a very professional looking, attractive bottle but it is a pretty big bottle and can take up a lot of space. It is especially bad when traveling. I would prefer the tiny glass bottle like the l'oreal true match, size wise.
TO SUM IT UP, this foundation really worked out for me. The good things outweigh the bad things by far for me. If you are looking for a foundation for special occasions, I'd say go for it if you have the money. However, I would not recommend this for a everyday foundation. I myself bought it to use for special occasions and it is working out well.
I will definitely repurchase this product.
This is my HG foundation! I have very dry skin and find most liquid foundations either make my skin even more dry or don't give me the coverage I need. This however give awesome coverage even when using a small amount of product (usually 1 pump is enough for my whole face) It also makes my skin feel really soft and moisturised throughout the day. I've already ordered a backup of this as its not very easy to get hold of in the UK!
I like this foundation .. but my problem with it is that my skin looks oily after an hour or two and it does not last more than a couple of hours..
Wow. This is a keeper for sure. I'm NC40, acne prone, with sensitive skin that is very sensitive at times. I waited a long time before trying this because NC40 is a hard match. I'm not olive, not light olive and have predominantly yellow undertones. My exact match is #153, which was a complete surprise because it's so yellow! I think this works so incredibly well because you can sheer it out and build it up so well.
I cannot get over the coverage. The MUA at Sephora really layered it on so that I could see for myself it really was an exact match! We matched it to my neck, which is the appropriate way to choose your foundation. I could not get over the fact that the minute it hit my skin, it "disappeared" shade wise. I'd go so far as to say it's a better match than MAC and that is saying a LOT.
I got a large sample last night with the intention of seeing if it breaks me out. I'm going to give it a few days and check for clogged pores. I can tell right now though that it must be washed off very very well, as I could see it in the pores on my nose. I use my clarisonic and a cleanser made for taking off makeup and it came right out of my pores beautifully. This is what I look for in a foundation in addition to an exact match.
I have not checked the list of ingredients, but if all checks out, I will update this review with more details, but so far this is a definate winner.
This I would consider my HG foundation. I used MUFE F&B for about a year and loved it fir the natural, sheer look it gave.
But, I wanted something with a little more coverage to give me a more polished look for more dramatic makeup looks. I lucked out @ Sephora because there just happened to be a MUFE rep working there that day. Thank goodness because the shades and numbering are soooo confusing! She color matched me perfectly and I get compliments on how flawless my foundation is whenever I wear this. I apply quickly with my fingers and then use mac skunk brush to stipple and buff out any streaks. It lasts all through the work day and stays put even through a workout if I go to the gym straight from work. I use it with MAC prep & prime and finish with either MAC MSFN or MUFE HD silica powder. I never need to use concealer with this. And the new pump is way better. A little goes a long way. Love it!
This foundation has excellent coverage (medium to full) and it looks like I have perfect skin, it looks great in pictures and I get compliments whenever I wear it. The only problem is that it is not long lasting, especially if you have combination or oily skin, it will only last about 4 hours. I prefer MUFE Mat Velvet+ over this one, but if you have dry or normal skin it might work for you.
ok, so at first i really really loved this foundation. It gives you flawless skin, while still looking very natural!! i thought i was in heaven. I was really excited! So after a month i started to notice that my skin was really breaking out! and it was never ending! (my skin is not really sensitive) so i've had to stop using it! and yep you guessed it..ever since i've stopped using it...my skin has calmed down and is going back to normal!
This foundation is amazing! I am absolutely floored by what it can do. I've been using this for a little over a week now and every day it just keeps getting better and better. The coverage is perfect. It makes my skin look flawless without looking like I have makeup on. And this lasts. It's made it all day through 100+ degree heat. It's made it through ages long licking sessions from my puppy. The pump is perfect, it dispenses just the right amount every time.
This is on the expensive side but it'd definitely worth it. Most of the time, one pump is all you need so this is going to last a long time. For the way it looks on, I'd be willing to pay anything. I'll definitely be buying this again.
- The foundation had a high coverage
-It matched my skin well
-Lasted for about 6 hours
-Expensive, it cost me around $45 CDN
-The cap kept popping off.
-It begins to crease and leave dry patches on your face gradually.
-Will not be purchasing again.
