This is the best powder I've ever used! It keeps my face matte all day long. I've gone through 3 of these and am almost done with my fourth. Good thing I have a back up waiting for me :)
I've used many powders in my search for something that reduces shine and this works a lot more effectively than some of the more expensive ones.
It goes on like silk and creates a matte, but illuminated effect. I apply with a large brush and, combined with EL DW, it gives me a flawless finish. When I touch up during the day it doesn't cake and always looks natural.
I donít use powder on my whole face daily, I just apply it on my eyelids to prevent creasing, and this powder works well for that purpose. But when I happen to use this powder on my whole face, I apply it with a large brush. Itís very natural-looking and longlasting. I have it in 02 Rose Ivory, which is just right for my pale complexion. This might be the first time I havenít had to purchase the lightest shade! :D However, I really hate the case! Why canít it be like other, regular powder cases.
Where has this powder been all of my life? HG, HG, HG ! I didn't try this sooner because for me "Matte" powder makes me think heavy, drying and cakey, Well this isn't any of those. This is a very light beautiful powder in fact it's a dupe of Giorgio Armani's Silk powder having the exact ingredients with a slightly different order. I put this on over my foundation and my skin looks airbrushed. I have skin that leans towards the dry side but can get a little oily in the t-zone. This does not dry my skin at all and does a good job of controlling shine without making my skin look dull. I am NW15/20 and chose Light 2-3 and it's a perfect match. Love this powder.
So far I like this powder a lot! I think I've finally given up on mineral makeup for good because my skin just can't tolerate it. Instead, I've decided to just go with concealer and powder for now. I bought this powder for that purpose and it is doing wonderfully. I like that it gives more coverage than other powders, while looking so natural. It's very silky and light, but the most impressive thing about it is the oil-control that it provides. With everything else I've used, my skin gets shiny within hours but not with this! I'm so impressed that it lives up to its name. My only small complaint is that it accentuates a few flakes, but what powder doesn't? I will update this if it causes breakouts.
UPDATE: This did irritate my skin. I think it was the dimethicone, which gives me problems sometimes. I just dropped one lippie because otherwise it's a great product.
This is a great pressed powder for me, keeps me matte and no trouble with breakouts. It doesn't get cakey and it's great for setting makeup. My only complain is the packaging--I wish the mirror didn't swing out from the compact. That makes it awkward to hold.
Thank goodness for MUA! I searched on here for positive reviews of a pressed powder and after years of buying rubbish ones I've finally found this, and it truly is the best pressed powder there is. Surprising considering Dream Matte Mousse is so rubbish!
I'm NC15, prone to spots and oily breakouts, but this makes my skin look even and smooth and keeps the oilies at bay very well. I just reapply with a touch up once or twice over the day, but otherwise it looks flawless.
I've tried pressed powders from all the following: Chanel, Benefit, MAC, Bourjois, YSL, Lancome, and L'oreal, and this Maybelline one beats them all hands down.
Love it, this has become my everyday powder.
I've been using this powder for about 6 years and I love it! When I first apply my makeup it gives me a very natural look. It is not heavy and gives a good amount of coverage. I still have to put concealer to hide some blemishes. If I apply this midday when I look like an oil pan, it does wonders for making my shine disappear. For days when I'm not looking for heavy coverage this is perfect. If you want more coverage go for something else.
After many many years of MMU (and many many brands!), my skin developed a sensitivity (still not sure of the specific ingredient that causes the sensitivity, but it only happens with MMU). Also, I'm discovering that as I get older (I'm 36), MMU is not flattering me anymore. Strangely enough, I'm finding that the more "chemical/synthetic" makeups are doing a better job for me and I'm not reacting like I was with the MMU. So I have been searching for a good mattifying powder and my search has led to Dream Matte Pressed Powder.
When I first used this, I don't think I applied enough (was using a large fluffy brush to apply) and I was shiny after only 1 or 2 hours. I was disappointed. The second time I used it, I applied more and was delighted to be matte for at least 6 hours! I don't find it chalky or dull on it's own (as I've read in other reviews) and I have used it with Guerlain les Meteorites over the top and the results were good with that too.
Most importantly for me is that I did not break out or develop any itchiness or redness AT ALL from this. I am continuing to use it, whilst still testing out other mattifying pressed powders. I'd probably buy it again as it is quite inexpensive.
Not too impressed by this product. It makes me look like i just threw powder on to my face, when I really try to buff it in. So i wouldnt buy it again.
