This was like my first foundation, it is easy to use for those who are just starting with makeup and a lot easier to apply than liquid foundation. It's okay and I like it, apperantly, cause I'm on my fouth pot on this stuff now. When you first apply it, it get's very "cakey" and it looks bad like you used too much makeup.. but I use a tree tre toner spray over it which gets rid of that look and honestly you're left with a flawless look! About the coverage, it covers well but a concealer is needed if you have spots that you want to cover. During the day, I must say it fades away a bit. Also during the day it doesn't keep me matte but makes my forehead all shiny. I have oily skin with mild acne problems. I don't know if this foundation that is contributing to my bad skin problem.. however I'm looking for that foundation that gives me a full coverage and will keep me matte all day. Overall it is an okay foundation :)
One of my favorite foundations. I love wearing this in the summer because it's light and mattifying. It evens out my skin without looking like I'm wearing foundation. I prefer this over tinted moisturizers because it keeps the shine away better.
This product is overhyped and not a good makeup product. It may be fun for young girls starting out with makeup to use, but for real makeup users, this is total crap. The texture is mousse like but creates a cakey, uneven base. It lasts only 1-3 hours and fades away terribly. The coverage is crappy but you can't really tell because its hard to apply the strange mousse. Fingers isn't good at blending it and it doesnt pick up well with a brush. The only thing i liked about it was the packaging but overall, this foundation is just a rip off to make money by making it seem cool.
I mainly use this as an under eye concealer now. This is a great foundation if it doesn't make you break out. Unfortunately, this has caused some major breakouts on me when I wore it as a foundation, so I rarely use it as such. Hides blemishes well--You can achieve full coverage with this along with a very matte finish. One con is that the makeup transfers quite easily on clothing--I've stained many people's shirts wearing this and hugging!

FYI: I am a Latina woman with very fair olive skin, combination type (dry forehead, oily nose & chin, normal cheeks) in early maturity (minor facial lines, redness). Shade refs: LM Creme Silk in Cream Ivory, Bobbi Brown in Warm Ivory, Revlon Colorstay in Buff
FYI (2): Maybelline tests its products on live animals. For this reason, I have ceased purchasing their products. This review refers to product use prior to my awareness of their animal testing status.
I used Dream Matte in Classic Ivory, decent skin match. I applied the product with a standard (paddle type) foundation brush. Light strokes and very careful blending leave an elegant, smooth matte finish and medium coverage with a dry, lightweight feeling on my skin. Can be used to conceal dark circles, but work quickly. Sets very well. Nice "canvas" on which to apply other makeup. If you get a good match, this is a very nice choice for photography.
It lasted pretty well but this isn't an ultra-matte makeup. If you're oily, you'll eventually need to blot, but you'll get better wear from this foundation than most, especially if you apply over a mattifying primer and top with powder. Drier skins will need a moisturizer or moisturizing type primer.
Jar packaging should be updated to prevent waste and make for more sanitary use. Use a q-tip or small plastic spatula, or other tool to scoop out the foundation. Don't dip your brush or use fingers since this will transfer bacteria to the jar.

OH dear, I remember when this first came out and everyone was talking about it. I didn't really know any other foundations so I used this. Now.... from all the foundations I've ever tried, this has definitely been the worst. It's like smearing semi-dry clay all over your face, it oxydised, looked all blotchy and dried out my combo skin like nothing else ever did. Can't get any worse than this, really.

I LOVE THIS! I have my perfect match :) (I think it's true love) Covers almost all redness and has build-able coverage. I wear it every day apply with a stippling brush and it only takes two minutes! I was wary at first when buying it as I had heard it dries out skin but I'm on my second tub and it hasn't yet! would definitely recommend this if you have combination/oily skin xoxo gossip squirrel
My first reaction to this product was that it provided good coverage of my acne scars and made my face less shiny. I would have kept using it, except it made me breakout in areas I have never broken out in before in my 36 years!!! The skin along my jawline and chin became infecsted with whiteheads, blackheads, and cystic acne! I researched the product ingredients and discovered that Jojaba oil is not recommended for acne prone skin. Why it is an ingredient in an oily skin makeup, I can only guess. I am really disappointed, as I have had no previous bad experiences with Maybelline products. In fact, the foundation I was using before I tried the mousse was the regular Maybelline Dream foundation.
Update: Oxy Naturals Acne Treatment with tee-tree oil cleared up the acne! Nothing else came close...

This is the BEST foundation I've ever bought!
Using mousse has been a great switch from liquid since it literally feels so light weight! I HIGHLY recommend this product!
Recomendation:
-The product comes in many shade varieties which always have samples so just test out the color before buying.
-The product has variable coverage depending on how you layer it.
-Does not make my skin oily
-Gives amazing coverage which fades only after hours (just a light retouch will do). (I do not wear primer, but wearing it will help this last all day).
Downside:
- It's hard to get some of the product on your finger without getting it under your nails, but if you apply the product with a brush then this will not be an issue.
- A reason why the product stays so long is that it sits on skin rather than dissolving, so if you put your face against clothing material, it will add some of the color.
-Make sure to wash hands with soap after applying since the product will spread onto anything you touch.

I have been using Bare Minerals for over a year now and while I love it, I hate spending that much on my makeup - especially those times when I'm out of foundation, mineral veil and bronzer/blush! I picked up Maybelline Dream Matte Mousse this weekend hoping to find a cheaper alternative to my makeup routine. I will say that this went on beautifully and gave great coverage. However, by 10AM (I get ready for work at 5:30A) I was covered in oil - more so than with my regular foundation. I have an oily t-zone so usually only have to deal with my forehead but with this stuff on even my nose & chin were glowing! I also noticed that the makeup caked up on my forehead in any lines and in between my eyebrows. I've never had that problem before with anything I've tried. continued >>
