this is a beautiful pale gold. perfect for the day, its just shimmery enough! I love it!
the packagig is cute too :D
half baked is your quintessential gold shadow... its one that everyone should have in their makeup bag..
it is the perfect shade of gold... the right amount of shimmer with great pigmentation... just a very subtle, slight hint of peach to it... not glittery at all.. it can be used in gold looks, can be used as a wash, as a highlighter on your brow bone, or even a highlighter on your cheeks if youre going for a bronze sunkissed look..
it is the gold shadow i reach for most in my makeup collection, and between all the shadows (various brands) and mac pigments, i have a crap ton of gold colors to choose from... definitely a staple in my collection
I have yet to find anything like it a perfect gold shade that adds a lot of pop on my fair olive completion.
Urban Decay Half Baked is a beautiful gold color. It pretty much looks the same in the pan as it does on my lids, so already this shade is a hit with me. I like the fact that the color was shimmery without having a glittery effect (like Midnight Cowboy), also fall out wasn't too big a problem (although I put shadow on first anyway).
Half Baked is a medium gold shade so on my skin it looks best paired with something else and on the inner portion of my eyelids or just on the eyelid itself. I am an AAB with fair skin. I totally agree with the reviewer below me - use a liner and WOW! I used Wet N Wild black liquid liner to complete my look.
Gold is tricky. I would buy this shade again since it has the qualities I like in a good gold. I am not sure but I am going to take a look at my Golden Retriever eyeshadow by Prestige since there initially appear to be some similiarity...to be continued...
UPDATE: Golden Retriever by Prestige is a darker gold compared to Half Baked by Urban Decay. Actually Half Baked makes Golden Retriever look much darker, if both were used side by side the Half Baked could help blend Golden Retriever out.
Love this golden shade - not too gold, but not too light either. Perfect as a base or highlighter. Really great when used with black liner.
This is a great shade. Shimmery gold but not too much. Works great as base or alone. One of the prettiest golden shades I've tried.
One of my all-time favorite shadows. I'm a big UD shadow fan because I think that they last like no other - no fading or creasing. This is my standby natural shade; it has a nice gold/bronze sheen that looks natural but noticeable. I absolutely love it and am well on my way to using up my 2nd pot.
Love it! Just got this eye shadow for Christmas, and I know instantly that this is going to be a staple of mine for now on. I love this yellow-gold shade, since it makes my blue eyes pop. Plus, I have yellow undertones in my fair skin, so it is a very flattering color for my complexion. I like how it is very natural, but still stands out and enhances my eyes. It is shimmery, but not too sparkly. Perfect, especially when paired with black eyeliner. I think it would work well on many people. Plus, it is great quality (as all Urban Decay products are, from my experience). It lasts on me all day without fading or creasing.
I wholeheartedly agree with the previous reviewer's color description. It's a golden-beige champagne with subtle shimmery glitters. A really universally flattering color, I think. This shade is also very versatile with many other colors and looks. I recieved this in the Urban Arsenal palette (very nice, not a dud in the entire palette which is quite rare, at least for me).
I am a huge fan of Urban Decay shadows; I think they are wonderful for fun, bold colors and their pigmentation is incredible, although the colors can be pleasantly, albeit surprisingly, deceptive.
I am Asian and have fair skin during the cooler seasons and can get absurdly tan during the summer months. This shade is wearable all year, and even though some might be leery of the glitter in the packaging, Half Baked goes on with a surprising satin-y cream-like finish. The color is a beige-y gold, similar to champagne but with a hint of yellow. It's a very good compliment my dark brown/black eyes, and looks great for a slightly-more-than-subtle natural look.
What I think is the greatest thing about this eyeshadow is that the color makes my eyes pop just enough so that they're noticeable but not enough to make it look like I was an extra in some horrible movie involving roller skates and a discoball. Because of my skin tone, eye and brow color, AND the fact that I have barely any lid (I do have a little bit, probably more than most Chinese/Japanese girls), finding a pretty neutral is hard to come by, but this color is amazing, and looks great when paired with practically any color you may want to use for crease definition.
