This foundation covers well, but it's way too thick to use with my 187 foundation brush. I made the mistake of using the brush to apply it the first time I used it, and it went on way too thick and was hard to blend.
It matched perfectly when I tried it in the store, but when I got home and used it all over my face, it was too dark. Using a lighter powder over the foundation made it look better, but that's not always a good idea.
I tried one shade lighter and it was way too light, so I guess I'd have to buy 2 tubes and mix them for the right shade.
Definitely moisturize well before using this if you have dry skin, and a primer might be a good idea too. Using a foundation brush may not be the best idea with this thick cream, either. It definitely didn't work for me.
On a side note, I bought a bottle of Guerlain Parure Extreme foundation for $60 the same day I picked this one up, and although the Guerlain one smells much better, blends easier, and is much, much thinner and easier to work with, this EL one looked and felt almost exactly the same on my face as the Geurlain one - the shade even seems to be exactly the same.
Weird, because both foundations looked like an exact match when I tried them in the store, and both were too dark when I used all over my face at home. Which makes no sense because I was really pale when I went to the mall, so you'd think they would have made dark streaks on my face at the time when the SA tried them on a small part of my face.
The Geurlain one looked slightly more flawless, but there wasn't a significant difference between the 2 once they were set. Possibly because I can use my stippling brush to apply the Guerlain, for an airbrush effect, and have to use my fingers or a sponge for the EL one.
One other thing: the cool thing about EL is you can ask for a sample and they usually give you one. So before you spend $33 on this, go to the EL counter and tell them you heard about it and would like to take a small sample home. They'll likely try it on a small part of your face, and send you home with a sample big enough to use for about 10 days.

Fabulous foundation, I have tried forever to find a foundation that suits my fair skin tone perfectly, and this is it! It's long-wearing, and you only need a tiny bit, a little certainly goes a long way! So whilst it is expensive (for me) it will last a long time, I'm sure, so it's certainly worth it. I have quite a bit of redness on my face, and usually it takes layers and layers of foundation to cover it..then I end up with a cakey-looking face.
This foundation is lightweight and hardly feels like you're wearing any make-up.
Lovely!

I went to macys today and the lady at the estee lauder counter put this on my face.............wow! i have acne scarring and this totally covered it up so i bought it! tomorrow im goin to school so lets see how it looks under flourescent lighting. it applies really well with their foundation brush but im goin to try another brus instead. After, use a sponge to blend it in more
ok so i woke up this morning with three huge zits! i used this and i was amazed at how little time it took to put on! of course, lk any foundation, it didnt make the zit dissapear because no foundation can make a bump disappear, but it took away all the redness and it looked really good! i went to school and even in the flourescent lighting it looked good! way better than my old foundation!
and i have no idea what some of the other reviewers talked about it came right off my face when i washed it
I started using this product almost a year ago, and I love it. It has been the absolute best foundation I've come across. I've used everything in the past from Neutrogena to Chanel and MAC. This one is by far the best. One thing I'd like to point out, a lot of the reviews mention this being expensive, I dissagree. The tube is only $29.50 and it lasts sooo long because you use such a tiny amount!! I've had only one tube, I still have the same tube (not to mention I accidentally stepped on it and lost about half of it on the rug!) (yeah, NOTE: not good on rugs!) Anyway, Chanel ran me up $50 and MAC ran me up about $35. This is great! Totally recommend it!
For me, this product has been my best cosmetic purchase (and boy have I purchased a lot of crap). My only two complaints right off the bat are the price and the fact that it is not oil-free since I tend to develop cystic acne. Here are the things I love about it: You get MAXIMUM coverage as the name states and it does not look cakey. For best results I use a smooth primer (Clinique Pore Minimizer or Smashbox Photo Finish Light) underneath and this foundation glides on like a dream. It is hard to find a foundation that gives such good coverage without looking like a mask or drawing attention to blemishes or dry spots. Despite the fact that it is not oil-free I have not developed a single pimple, which I generally do even with oil-free products. It tends to rub off on things, but is less likely when I use MAC Blot Powder (which makes the finished look awesome). Best foundation I have purchased yet and will continue to!

Ok so i have mixed feelings about this product.
PROS
- It covers verrry well
- You only need a small amount
- Blends easily
-love the tube packaging
CONS
-color selection sucks
-oxidizes
-gets cakey under the eyes, so need a seperate undereye concealer
-expensive!
So overall, i suggest you try this, you might seriously fall in love with it, give it a try, u have nothing to lose, u can return if you dont like. Personally, i will keep this and experiment more with it, and then make my final decision.
UPDATE: I like it less and less everytime I use it...So Im taking off a lippie...I dunno I just dont like the way it cakes on and it is no the exact color of my skin...I would see how this would be good after a lot of patting and a lot of moisturizer underneath..but im kinda dissapointed i paid so much for something i kindof dont like using..
I purchased this on 11-11-08, based on the great reviews I read on this site. I am pretty pleased! You only need a VERY LITTLE BIT and it covers awesome!! I set with Estee Lauder press powder. I have scars from acne, some redness around my nose and it covered it all!!!

Ok, I don't use this product as a foundation but rather as a concealer. In fact, it's probably the best product you could use on the spot or under the eyes. It's highly pigmented & all you need is a dab to cover anything. It can work well as a foundation if you need full coverage but you have to moisturize well because this is thick & so pigmented that any dryness you have will show through. I love this because you can use the most sheer foundation or tinted moisturizer & then use this as a concealer and you will have flawless skin. You need to be sure to powder it well though for it to last all day. continued >>
This is my HG. I get bad breakouts and have some acne scarring and this really covers everything without being cakey. When I first bought it it seemed kinda thin and runny, but it's AMAZING how well this covers. Yes it is a little pricy, but it's totally worth it and it lasts forever. I pretty much put it all over my face and one bottle can last me about 8 months, you don't need much. And if you have problems with eyeshadow creasing put this on as a base and your eyeshadow will not budge. LOVE IT!!!

I love this as a concealer! I have used this for at least 7 years (when i started getting acne in my adolescents) and it covers EVERYTHING! I rarely have to reapply it. Also, the tube is pretty big and i just had to throw mine out bc I had it for four years, even though it was still working properly I just didn't think it was sanitary to keep it that long. The price isn't bad because it is such a large tube and just a little bit of it goes a long way.
