As far as primers go, I really like this one. This one gives a little correcting as it neutralizes the skin & primes it at the same time. If you had perfect skin you could almost use this alone when you don't want to wear makeup. It is mattifying and makes your skin smooth and is the one of the better primes although sometimes I wonder how much any primer makes a difference in the final product.
For the price, I wanted to give it a 3.5, so I just rounded it up.
Packaging was simple but nice.
Overall Rating was 4 because I wished the jar was bigger! Hahaha because I just love it!
I tried Laura Mercier and I didn't even see the difference on my face. I was quite uncomfortable at the idea of having a liquid primer.
When I tried Clarins, I was just amazed. It's not liquid, and thank God it wasn't solid either. Hahaha!
It was just like a cute pink cream. Whenever I put it on, it just glides and makes my face look more flawless compared to the other brands. I have to admit that I am very very careful with products I put on my face because I have sensitive skin. So I like having Mineral Foundations, Clarins, Clinique, and dermatologically or opthamologist tested products.
It really makes my skin look relaxed and sometimes, I don't even need to put foundation on because it just makes my skin look more natural.
I will seriously buy this product again!
I have used this product for about a year now but I only use it to plump up those fine lines in my brow area, nose and lip area, and under my eyes before concealer. I would never use this all over my face...to me it does not spread it needs to be patted in. I just bought the L'Oreal Studio Secrets Magic Perfecting Base..this I will use on the rest of my face. I will update after using for awhile :)
Among other primers (MAC, Clinique, Loreal), this one gives me the best oil control together with Revlon's Colorstay liquid foundation for Combination skin. The pinkish gel-creme (no shimmer) is easy to apply and blend out. It does cover the smaller pores and lines, and for the bigger pores, it reduces the size. I have used it for a month now, no breakouts, itch or redness. Love love love this. Definitely will buy again !
It is great product simply MAGIC I love it!! No more fine lines and my complexion is glowing !!I use it also under my eyes and fine line just vanish!! I just wish that the jar was a little bigger as I use it daily with or without makeup I would definitely buy it again
I really like how this product works to smooth out the skin and reduce pore size. Not poreless. But better.
The thing is, you have to lightly tap it on your skin--not rub it in. If you use a silicone-based ss (as I do), you must be very careful not to overdo or additional foundation can create a waxy/unnatural look. So that takes care of the price: you need very little of this product.
With this product, I can often get away with some concealer and a dusting of powder and just a dab of Make Up For Ever Face&Body here and there.
Another plus is this does not cause breakouts, and I am prone to clogged pores Cannot say the same for the MAC.
As others have stated, concealer goes on wonderfully, especially around the eyes. Makes foundation last longer as well.
When used in moderation, this is great. I use it to cover certain scars on my face. You must pat in gently and never rub it in! Application is very tricky! I don't wear it all the time because it unfortunately makes me break out, special occassions only. :/
This does everything a primer is supposed to do: makes foundation go on better, and helps it last longer, and minimizes the pores - although it does'nt make them disappear... i have very large pores around my nose area ad they are still visible after applying this. Still, it's better than my smashbox primer.
but the reason i love this product so much and gave it 5 lippies is because of it's texture. my skin looks and feels... "velvety" with this. it's just sooo beautiful. every time i applied it i get compliments on my skin. this "velvet" quality shows through foundation, concealer, finishing powder and blush. it's amazing.
its a shade of pink in the jar but it goes translucent on your face, so don't be scared because the color won't show up. also, i don't find it very expensive: it has a reasonable amount and it makes your skin appear so healthy it's definitly worth it.
At the risk of sounding corny, they really should call this Pores No More. This is absolute HG primer for my normal-dry, slightly sensitive/reactive skin. I could never really get rid of the visibile pores along my nose until this came along. Sadly, they do return after washing my face, but really filling them in during the day is enough for me.
As for oil control, I never do get too oily or shiny during the day. With other primers (Smashbox) and foundations (Studio Sculpt, Studio Fix PPF, MUFEHD, MUFE F&B, BB Skin -- which I'm still using), I had to maybe blot my nose once after a 8 hour long day. But I'm able to use this and not blot; without looking ashy. I still have a dewey/satin look, but without the grease.
Speaking of grease, the texture of this does feel greasy - but leaves the skin feeling moisturized, and in a more pleasing way than the silicone feeling of some others. But I've found I've had to use VERY sparingly, even with parched, winter skin. The base is pink, but dries clear on the skin. I absolute hate the packaging and would prefer a tube, even though mine came with a mini spatula. However, the HG status of this primer makes all the hassle and expense worthwhile. Definate re-buy.
I don't consider this to be a primer in the traditional sense. I use a separate silocone based primer and then add this over the larger pores on my cheeks & nose and to smooth the skin around my eyes before applying make up. It's lovely and makes me look younger for sure. You have to use it very sparingly! Don't overload on it or it'll "gum" up, a little goes a long way and it's really nice.
