I own this product in three colors; think pink, just peachy, and bare it all. The packaging is insanely cheap and awful, some will open better than others. But hey for $2.99, you get what you pay for. My just peachy opens perfectly fine with no problems, however the think pink and bare it all is more difficult and tricky to open. Since the product doesn't go down all the way you have to be careful when you open it otherwise you end up nicking the product. Aside from the packaging I quite like it. It's a matte formula so you'll need to exfoliate and wear a balm. It has no scent or flavor and is not drying on my lips (bu then again I wear a balm underneath it).
-stays on for a long time
-doesn't glide on smooth. The formula is dry, flakey and it dries out you lips.
-you have to apply lip balm under it for it to glide on smooth.
I have this in 4 colors: mauve outta here, coral-line, just peachy and smokin' hot pink. I use just peachy the most, it's more pink than peach and it's quite pale, that I wouldn't wear it alone. Mauve outta here is okay, sorta reminds me of Lavender whip. It has that pinky-purple mix going on. The other colors I have are too dark for my taste. I love the texture and lasting power, but the colors...ehh not so much.
Got this in coral-ine and it's the perfect matte soft red with a hint of coral... if you want a full coverage version of Viva Glam Cyndi I'd pick this up plus it's only $2 love it!
Love this lipstick! I think it's great. The pigmentation is great, it's nice and soft and smooths on very easily and evenly. Gives some very good color payoff and has a nice creamy formula. And for about $3 you can't beat it! I applied it soon after applying my Chapstick and it didn't dry out my lips. Did look too "matte" or dry. Looked nice and creamy.
I just bought this lipstick at CVS recently while visiting family on the East Coast. I paid $3.14 ($2.99 plus VA state tax). I bought this in the Red Velvet shade. The color reminds me of MAC's discontinued Mattene lipstick in Seriously Rich. The overall hue is a bright, true red and there is a slight pinkish undertone. The black and clear packaging is a bit schlocky i.e. cheap, yet it is an improvement over their original stuff. I do not like how the lipstick itself sticks out of the tube and won't swivel all the way down. Therefore, when putting the clear lid back on, I need to make sure I do not nick the lipstick and end up smearing product on the outside/edge of the lid.
Unlike most WnW lipsticks in my past (junior high/high school), this lippie thankfully lacks the famous 'plasticky' scent. I cannot detect any real scent at all. If there is any scent, it is slight. The lipstick glides on and stays on a couple of hours and when it fades away, it leaves a slight yet even stain. I applied MAC lip pencil in Cherry to finish the look and the liner was a little bit darker than Red Velvet but it paired nicely. This lippie can seem a little drying if you are not used to wearing mattes but I have to say that the dryness is no where near that like MAC's Ruby Woo. If the dry quality is bothersome, put clear lip balm over the lipstick or you can pair it with a gloss like MAC's lustreglass in String Bean or Lustreglass in Venetian.
Overall, I am impressed with this little find. I mean, yes, the packaging is weak but the product is great. I cannot complain about 3 bucks and great lips. I do prefer my MAC and Julie Hewett colors but this WnW product is good for the price and neat to try.
There are 20 shades in all, but a store that stocks all of them may be hard to find. I bought Think Pink and Bare It All. They are thick and matte, but the name on this listing is wrong. On their website they are Mega Last lipsticks. These can almost apply too matte and thickly, so you have to apply in thin layers to get the color payoff. $3 at Walgreens isn't so bad, but they aren't a staple for me. The Bare It All does remind me of a long time discontinued shade they used to make called Toasted Coocut, but it's not exact. Make sure your lips are exfoliated and moisturized by a good balm for at least 20 min. ahead of time. These will stick to any dry skin. I just put on Think Pink and it's growing on me. It's a 60's cool toned pink. Bare It All is a neutral pink nude.
"Think Pink" seems to be the distant cousin of Revlon's infamous "Pink Pout", only more muted and paler looking. It's more drying and more matte than "Pink Pout" as well. Side by side they're not exact duplicates, but very close. "Think Pink" seems to be one or two shades lighter.
I bought this unique, retro matte lipstick at the Dollar Store for around two or three bucks. My only complaint is how intensely drying this stuff can be after you slather it on. Due to the ultra mega dryness, I licked this lipstick off pretty quick...so my apologies, but I hate to say that this lipstick doesn't have very good staying power either. On average, it lasted on me for about 45 minutes.
With a good moisturizing lip balm or a juicy gloss, I'm sure this matte lipstick would be great. I don't reccomend this to people who are pale skinned. The pale matte coloring of this lipstick would wash pale skinned people completely out. Hope this helps.
I got the red. It has great pigment and is very red, and it lasts, but it's not matte. The color range is limited, too.
Bought the pinky one and the nude one, not sure about the names, but they are very pigmented and don't dry out my lips. The pink one is VERY pink on me, so I go light with it or put a clear gloss over. But the nude is really flattering on me, with no additions. Try 'em-they're super cheap and rival far more expensive lippy's. W & W has totally upped their game.
