I really like this product. It covers my dark eye circles but I can still see my skin. And the tiny bit that comes out on the first twist is all I need. That being said I will not be repurchasing this concealer. First, $28 for 0.05oz is ridiculous. And secondly the packaging is not user friendly. I will be going back to Lancome Effacernes, for about the same price you .49 ounces.
Love this concealer .I've been waiting to try it for ages and finally managed to buy some on a trip to France. It's the first concealer I've ever found that completely covers my dark circles without emphasising them, doesn't seep into my fine lines, lasts all day and doesn't dry out my under eye area. It isn't thick like some undereye concealers, or greasy - just makes my undereye look like skin. Plus, it looks great in photos. I found it hard to choose a shade but after trial and error, plumped for 330 (I use the 120 or 125 in the hd foundation). I could also have got away with 325. I don't really have a problem with the packaging, it just takes some getting used to.
Great for under eye circles. Covers most of the black and I just dust some powder on top to set. It seriously lasts all day.
TIP: for those who are complaining about the packaging, when you are turning it.. turn it until it spews out. Then, to get more, BEND THE SILICONE WAND and more product should come out. Anything left in the silicone wand should come out and its great for finishing touches! I find that this prevents it from coming out when I'm not around and I don't get the dry blob the next day.
It didn't cover too well on my chin blemishes though.
And the amount of product does concern me a little for the price but great nonetheless!
I loveee this concealer. I'm pretty new to the concealer wagon surprisingly, but I was recently using Dior's hydrating concealer. I found Dior's a little too thick and it didn't have great staying power. This covers extremely well while looking natural. This concealer helps me look more awake as well. It also lasts pretty long too. Love it and will definitely re-purchase!
EDIT- Oct/13: I still use this, however I do find it provides more sheer coverage and these days I am needing a little more help under my eyes. Also, it can look a tad oily/shiny under my eyes if I don't set it with a powder. With that being said, I am on the search for a different concealer. Also, MUFE is not cruelty free (require animal testing by law and sell products in China..) so I am now steering away from their products which is a shame :(
I have NW35 skintone. the SA gave me this in 345 because its a medium tan color with yellow enough to cover my dark undercircles. While the color matched, this did not cover my undereyes, Its too see through. Whats the point if doesnt cover?!!!! returning tomorrow.
I absolutely love this concealer. That packaging, however... not so much. So I took one lippie off for that. Absolutely love the coverage and the color (165) and as always, MUFE is my love. The packaging never really works for me. I have to keep clicking to get any product out and then it continues to come out during the day as I am away and when I come to use it again the next morning, there is a blob of slightly dried concealer at the tip of the pen. I hate that. Maybe I'll just mix it with eye cream and use it from now on. I will continue to buy this as it is wonderful.
**UPDATE** 09/17/10 Added the lippie back because you can conserve the product by only clicking it up a few times then twisting the stem to get more out. This covers and coceals like a dream! My HG concealer.
not too crazy about the weird plastic applicator thing, but i love this concealer. i've tried mannnnnnnnnny concealers (mac, nars, benefit, urban decay, cargo, you name it) to hide my dark circles and this one finally works. the color is great and the consistency is amazing. the trick is to not use too much though or if will crease.
My biggest issue with this is the packaging, you have to twist and wait for it to travel up the plastic applicator...too time consuming. I feel like I have to use too much product to cover decently and my undereye circles aren't crazy dark either. I ended up getting the Bobbi Brown one which I much prefer and returning this.
My new HG! This is the best color match I've ever found in a concealer. I don't like for my concealer to be one shade lighter or too peachy. For reference, my HD Foundation shade ia 128 in winter. I'm a MAC NC 37. HD 345 (Dark Beige) is a perfect match. It's a medium shade with gold undertones. I can use it under my eyes AND on my face as a spot concealer. There are 14 shades to choose from. The MUF website describes this as a medium coverage concealer, but I found that just one layer covered my rather dark circles. It can easily be layered for extra coverage. It's VERY easy to use. It's like a light textured spackle. The applicator is similar to that of Touche Eclat, except instead of a brush, there's a tiny silicone spatula You must twist the pen type tube about ten times to initially start the product flowing to the tip of the spatula. After that you only need to twist it once or twice. I like the spatula because it is easier to clean than a brush. HD Concealer wore very well without being set with powder. It also works well with the HD powder or LM's Secret Brightening powder. It's not drying, does not cause eye makeup to smear and does not settle in the fine lines. It blends easily and looks very natural-- as if I'm wearing no concealer at all.
It retails for $28 USD at Sephora.
Edit: This seems to dark for my currently NC37 skin. I'll have to go back to Sephora to be color-matched.
i LOVE make up forever. i have a lot of their eyeshadows, and i use their full cover concealer and mat velvet + foundation every single day.
despite that, i have to report that i'm not a fan of the hd concealer. i didn't give a 1 rating because i reserve a 1 for products that actually harm me (i.e., give me a rash), which this did not do.
the product, even when brand new, can separate in the tube with a thin clear oil layer on top. you can't really mix that in with the rest of the concealer because it's in a weird silicone-tipped twist clicky pen (like a stila lip glaze kinda). so all you get is clear oil coming out that should be mixed in with the rest of the product. (i'm really not fond of the packaging style, to be honest. i think a little squeeze tube like the full cover concealer would be better.)
the concealer doesn't actually conceal anything on me. it didn't do anything for circles (i have very slight ones, so it should have done something if it could do anything at all), and it definitely didn't work as a blemish-covering concealer.
if you have perfect skin already but feel like you have to wear concealer just so you can say you do, this may be the concealer for you!
