I"m surprised I haven't written a review for this product yet. I've been using it for almost two years now w/o switching to a different cleanser. As a product junkie, this is a big deal for me! I love this cleanser. It removes all my makeup and hard-to-remove European waterproof sunscreen. Hooray! It doesn't leave my normal-to-dry skin feeling too tight after washing (DHC left my skin feeling PARCHED! I couldn't apply moisturizer fast enough!), even in the winter. I use it both in the AM and PM without any problems. I also use this as my only cleanser, meaning, I don't follow it up with another cleanser. It seems to get my face clean without having to follow up with another cleanser in the PM. The price is pretty good, too. I think it's one of the cheaper cleansing oils available in America (unless, of course, you live in Asia and/or can get ahold of cheaper Asian cleansing oils). I generally stock up on it when Origins sends me a coupon or if there's a freebie deal going on. Give this stuff a try! It's not too expensive and it removes makeup and hard-to-remove sunscreen all while making my skin clean w/o drying it out.

When I first started using this it worked great. My very dry skin felt clean and smooth, no tightness at all. Unfortunately, after about 1 1/2 weeks I started getting red itchy blotches all over my face. Since this was the only new product in my skin care arsenal I stopped using it and the blotches went away. From reading other reviews I'm not the only one who had this problem.

The good news - my Origins counter exchanged it for me (without the receipt) and I tried the Pure Cream cleanser. So far, so good.

I don't know why everyone is complaining about the pump. It's a BUCK fercryinoutloud! And you only have to buy it once. Would you rather the product cost more and have to throw it away every time? Get over it. It's a sound fiscal and ecological choice.

Now - THIS STUFF IS FANTASTIC. I think I've finally found my HG cleanser! It does seem counterintuitive to put oil on your face, but my fortysomething skin isn't greasy like it was in my youth (especially in winter), and I have a few flaky patches here and there. This product in conjunction with a good exfoliator left my face soft as a baby's bottom and no flakey patches. Smells citrusy and nice. I love it and will continue to buy it. Five stars.

I was using the shu uemura cleansing oil (green one) before this and now I am a total convert to origins!

Texture: the consistency is thicker than the shu, so that cleansing feels deeper. But, i do end up using more oil for origins since the thick consistency does not spread as well.

Cleansing routine: i had to use a dollop of face wash after the shu so that my pores will not get clogged. This has not been necessary for origins.

Effects: both remove waterproof sunblock and makeup. sadly, origins does not have an anti-oxidant effect like the shu does.

After-effects: both feel moisturizing. but for origins, i sometimes just follow-up with a perfect world purifying toner and skip the moisturizer because my skin looks feels so supple.

Price: shu is much more expensive! Origins was S$30+ for 200ml and shu was about S$70 for 150ml.

Thank you again to the people at origins!

Before this I was using Lush babyface. The only reason I stopped was it was taking to long to get all of the babyface off. This stuff is great for getting makeup off and it even takes my sunscreen off. It doesnt break me out and with a lttle gentle rub gets waterproof mascara off to. I would recommend buying the pump with it though as it can get a bit messy and wasteful without. Overall a really good product.

Love this, would definitely buy it again. I've used DHC cleansing oil for about 4 years, but when I saw Origins had come out with one, and that it was cheaper, I had to try it. The scent is fabulous, and it removes makeup as well as DHC while keeping the skin a bit softer and less dry. It doesn't break me out, and seems slightly more moisturizing than DHC, which is a good thing.

Finally-- my HG cleansing oil! I have tried a number of them including DHC, Shu, homemade. This one is the best. It smells fantastic-- very orangey and pretty-- cleans my entire face with just a couple of squirts from their (paid $1.00 for it) pump, washes clean, does not leave a film on my lashes. Completely removes several layers of waterproof mascara. My search is ended. Totally worth the price, which was about $18.00. And I asked for and received some nice samples-- Origins is a great store.

I seriously have had the worst luck on the planet bombing out with allc leansing oils from DHC, Shu, Shieseido, Lumene, Boscia etc etc. I have pretty normal skin which is coincidentally super pain in teh ass clog and breakout prone. I have tried switching my skincare to much more natural products over the years especially with using cleansing oils to to remove my eye and face makeup at the end of the day. I have tried using them alone and with a mild cleanser after and still I always get clogged skin and breakouts. Makes no sense how people I know who have rediculosuly oil, problematic, flaring skin have been saved by oil cleansers and the whole oil pulls out dirt and oil motto, yet doesn't work for me. This was ofcourse due to teh fact that many oil contain mineral oil so stopped using the oens with that and even oils like MAC which are amazing ingredients so many natural oils still are clogging and really hard to tell as to which ones legitimately are non-comnegenic. Anyways long store short I was about to give up when I decided to give Origins a try as I love the brand, great ingredients, and delcious fresh smelling products. This oil was no exeptions and shocked to say that is hasn't broken me out or clogged yet and feel it really is about the only non-comnegenic cleansing oil I have finally found. It has great ingredients, smells so fresh, rinses off clean and removes all makeup, and you get sucha great amount for the price (as opposed to rediculosuly priced Shu that costs an arm and leg when teh main ingredients in mineral oil the cheapest damn filelr out there). I ofcourse follow with a gentle organic foam cleanser as I'm too scared to take any chances with my skin and not compeltely wash the oil off lol but jsut amazing results in my skin getting the extra pore cleaning I need from the oil and feeling so smooth and soft. Yes it's a pain int eh ass to use 2 cleansers but hey can't choose your skin type of maintenance. Also in regards to the bottle, yes rediculously annoying that they don't include a damn pump for it jsut the the Origins Mint Wash as they have to rip us off and make us pay extra for the pump, whats new lol. For me though I always save pump bottles from previous products and just poured the oil into my old Mac Cleanse Off Oil Bottle. If you haven't had luck with other Cleansing Oils like me, whatever the circumstance try Origins Clean Energy ASAP, your search is over!!!! :)

Pro:
It removes ALL of my makeup, even waterproof mascara, cream eyeliner ect.
It does not leave our skin feeling oily what so ever.
It is non- comedogenic.
It is the fastes way to remove all of your makeup and cleanse your face. However i still use my Cetaphil cleanser afterwards to wash my face a second time. But you really don't have to.
It contains no parabens, mineral oils, phtalates ect. So it doesn't irritate my sensitive skin or dry it out.
It has a lovely smell.
It lasts a long time.

Cons:
The container is a pain. I can not count the times i have poured too much product into my palm or almost dropped the open bottle into the sink. I highly suggest getting a pump for the bottle.

Advice: If your wearing contacts, I suggest taking them out before cleansing. That is unless you would like to experience a cloudy sight.

As far as cleansing oils go, this works fine. No better or worse than others I have tried (Kose and DHC). However, it has several disadvantages over the competition:

1) it is expensive. My favorite cleansing oil, Kose Deep, costs $9 for 230 ml. This is $18.50 for 200 ml.

2) It smells bad. This smells like camphor mixed with lemon, a really pungent, unpleasant combination, and the scent is rather strong. Bleh.

3) It does not come with a pump. Origins will sell you a pump that fits the bottle for an additional $1. However, considering that this already costs twice as much as Kose, which includes a pump with the bottle, charging more for the pump just seems like gouging the customer.
