I have shoulder length thick, curly, frizzy and generally unruly hair. I've used several hair straighteners before and I was never happy with any of them, they always left my hair severely damaged and it never stayed straight for even one full day. With this flat iron my hair stays straight until I wash it again with maybe a tiny touch up on a few spots after sleeping. Touching up is seriously easy because it heats up in about 15 seconds and I only have to go over each section of hair one time. It just *glides* through hair without pulling, crimping or anything. It leaves my hair sleek, soft, shiny and pin straight in about ten minutes. I get compliments on my hair every day after I use this! I've had it for about two months now and it's the most expensive beauty item that I own but it really is worth every penny.

I have very thick wavy/curly hair. Every other straightener I have used has never completely straightened my hair. The ends usually were very flippy, and my hair was still dull and frizzy. The GHD is HG status. My hair is shiny, silky and it doesn't take hours for me to finish my hair. I can easily straighten my hair now within 15-20 minutes when it previously would take me about an hour. I can also easily curly my hair with this in the same time period. Honestly, I would never go back to using a different brand straightener.

After a year of lemming this hardcore, I FINALLY GAVE INTO THE HYPE :) I've had a Chi for about five years and had always been satisfied with it, but not entirely thrilled. I have straight, long hair that is really thick and dry. I've always felt that the Chi "pulled" and "tugged" on my hair.. It never really glided through, especially when I was curling my hair with it (and straightening too.) My hair never shined and if I ran my hair through it, it wasn't smooth or silky. I attributed this to my hair care or the fact that my hair was damaged. How wrong I was! Ever since getting my GHD, my hair is silky and smooth. Normally, I wear my hair in big waves, but my GHD is making me feel like I actually look better with poker straight hair.. Also, I wear clip in extensions sometimes and used to hate wearing them straight because they would get tangled and look awful when I used the Chi on them. The GHD makes them smooth and blend into my hair beautifully. I don't know how it does it, or why it's so different than the Chi, but it honestly is a better investment. I hope it continues to perform this well, because I love it. If you're on the fence because you have a flat iron you like, I'd highly recommend at least trying the GHD from a company that has a good return policy.

I finally gave into the hype after my Sedu started dying on me after 2 years =(
wow... I'm SO glad I gave in because the GHD is definitely worth every penny. my hair is naturally wavy and medium length. it heats up in just 15 seconds and gives me that pin straight look. I straighten my hair every day and it takes me about fifteen to twenty minutes depending if I'm in a hurry or not. but either way, I get great results! unlike with the Sedu, I still had to go over sections of my hair more than twice just to achieve the result I wanted. but with the GHD, it just takes one time =)
I would definitely recommend this product to anyone looking for a high quality straightener.

I have the 2009 pink edition. The colour was a bonus.

I use to have a remington straigtener. I thought they were all the same.

The GHD is heaps better. It heats up quick and easily straigtens and curls hair. Making perfect curls were initially hard but is super easy once you get the hang of it.

All my friends want me to do their hair for occasions!

ghd BCA 2009 IV Pink Styler

I bought this to replace my CHI Turbo last month. All I can say is that this blows the CHI out of the water! It's amazing! It's heats up instantly and takes less passes over each section to smooth out my fine hair. Highly recommended!

I didn't leave a review when I first got this, because I wanted to try it out for a while, before I reviewed it. I LOVE this straightener.

My hair is a thick, curly, waving mess, and after straightening my hair with a normal straightner, its wavy again by the end. It would take up to 2 hours to straighten my hair with a normal straightener. And the style would never stay.

The Ghd straightens my hair perfectly takes me 30-45 minutes, and it doesn't get wavy again. I've gotten SO many compliments after straightening my hair with this. This is by far the best straightener I have ever used in my life, it's truly amazing.

I ordered the Pure Ghd, and used it for a couple days and it broke, simple enough I sent it back, and they sent me a new one quickly. It hasn't broke and I really don't expect it to any time soon.

The one I bought cost $270, but to me is was so, so, worth it. I would definately buy this again, I can't imagine using any other straightener anymore.

If you have thin fine hair, this many not be the best choice, but if you have thick, unruly hair, this will work wonders.

If you are thinking about buying this, just take the plunge, and see how you like it, if you don't, return it for your money back, easy enough.

This product is simply...awesome.

This product is proof of the saying "You Get What You Pay For."
I have tried Muster, Babyliss, Vidal Sassoon - and absolutely nothing beats my GHD.

I actually purchased a GHD dupe (called NHD) before I finally succumbed to the GHD, and I gave the GHD to my 16 year old cousin - well that cost me $199AUD and she would have had to work a lot of shifts at Maccas to afford that!

The GHD is super-easy to use - I have used it to straighten, wave and curl my hair, and many others. It is an absolute pleasure to use, and if you want instant gratification, the GHD will give it to you.

A word of warning - like many heating products, it WILL damage your hair. I've had to limit my use to once a week and apply conditioner (the Clairol one in the blue tube is the best, but I've forgotten the name) like there is no tomorrow.

Money for use the GHD is the BEST value for money item I have ever used. I've had it for three years and it works as well as if I bought it yesterday.

Until recently I had never, ever used a flat iron. I've always been curious to try one out but was concerned about the damage it might do to my hair. I have waist length, slightly wavy hair that I get highlighted about once a month. It's on the fine side but I have tons of it. The most I usually ever do to it is blow dry it just enough so it's not wet and leave it to air dry. So typically it looks mostly straight with natural wave towards the ends. It's too heavy to hold a curl with the methods I had tried before (pin curls, a traditional curling iron) so I stopped attempting to do much with it even though I love the look of super wavy and curly hair.

My curiosity got the better of me last time I was getting my hair done (the salon only uses and sells the ghd brand) and I asked my stylist to try it out on my hair. I was so shocked at the difference it made. It looked like I had twice the amount of hair, all of these beautiful waves and curls and it only took him about fifteen minutes. I didn't buy it at the time thinking I'd just get lazy and not go to the trouble myself once I had it, or that the curls would fall straight again by the end of the day given how long/heavy my hair is. Plus I really would have to know I'd use it alot considering the price. But the next day I woke up and my hair was still curly and I knew I had to have it. I was going to Nordstrom's that day and knew they carried it there, so I bought it in a set (the Urban Angel Set) with a DVD, brush, and two of their styling products.

I found it awkward at first, and it took me a few tries to get the hang of the technique. But now it's extremely easy and my hair always comes out looking great. I love how shiny and sleek my hair looks. It feels very glamorous. I still can't get over how fast it heats up either, that's such a nice feature. I truly love this and it was a great investment, especially considering how often I use it and how many different styles I can get from it.
