I wanted to try this foundation because I saw Pixiwoo (beauty guru on YouTube and professional makeup artist in England) using it. She sprayed her face quite heavily with Fix + first, then used a 190 brush to apply it. I did the exact same application except with a 187 brush. I used barely any of the product because I knew it was going to be very full coverage and heavy on my skin. After a couple of hours, my skin got oily (more than normal) and I could see the product "melt" off my face. I set it with MSF natural. Not my first choice for daily makeup. Although I will say that it is pretty good when being photographed. I am a rollergirl and we took professional pictures, and my skin looked great, almost flawless in the picture.

As someone living a preforming arts lifestyle, I think my opinions may be slightly different in regards to this foundation. This foundation is very heavy, and can easily become cakey. I tried really hard to use this over and over as an everyday foundation. I tried to apply it with a brush, my wet beauty blender, regular cosmetic sponges and even my fingers. I think that as an everyday foundation, this is far too heavy for my skin. Especially as someone with dry skin, it becomes heavy, cakey, and can clog pores easily. However, as a foundation for performances, it really does make the skin look flawless from a distance. I think it looks obviously like makeup if you're getting up close, which is another reason it wouldn't work for every day use. I would purchase this again because of my preforming arts background, but if you are a person who doesn't need a lot of coverage, and who does not preform, I would say this foundation would probably be too much for you.
This gives such great coverage, I use it whenever I've got a big night planned. I find if I apply it with the sponge it looks too cakey on me, especially for daytime, so I use a foundation brush. takes a bit longer but if i do it that way it doesn't look like a mask. I don't even use concealer under my eyes when I wear this, just dab a bit with my concealer brush. Dries to a powder soft finish and stays put. The packaging is great I love compacts, this one is a bit thicker than I'm used to but can still throw it into a bag or clutch and don't have to worry about it going everywhere. Another fantastic mac product :)

A decent foundation but I find all of the shades make me look relatively orange but that could just be my skin tone. Overall, this usually ends up looking somewhat cakey because it is a light-medium cover foundation that really cannot be built up. Also, I have very oily skin and I think this almost makes it look shinier. I use it with the Mac pressed powder in order to reduce some of the oiliness. Overall a decent light-medium foundation but not my favorite.
I have used soooo many foundations over the years. I am 24 years old and I started wearing makeup when I was 13 years old. I have a lot of experience when it comes to foundation. I have tried everything from drug store brand makeup to Chanel and everything you could think of in between. I don't have a lot of acne, but I get the occasional breakouts I have red spots and have combination skin. This product is perfect for me. I used to think it might be too heavy coverage and might cause acne, but it didn't. It gives me great coverage. It stays on my skin the entire day. It goes on like a liquid, but dries into powder form. Great product. I use the MAC concealer first then put the studio tech foundation all over my skin with the sponge. Only thing is make sure you get the right color! You don't want it it be too light for your skin tone or too dark... it could be a disaster if it doesn't match your skin tone.
This is a great foundation if you are looking for an airbrushed effect. It's a cream to powder formula that provides medium to full coverage and is also excellent for photography as well as daily use.
I apply the Studio Tech foundation using a foundation brush and then buffing it in with small circles using a buffing brush. I then apply Prep + Prime Transparent Finishing Powder and then it's perfection :)
studio tech is a pretty mediocre product from mac. the coverage is nice and full but i have oily skin and the product feels quite heavy on my face. i don't like to use the sponge they provide, when i first started using it i actually used a concealer brush to get this all over my face. but the creme consistency is hard to work with unless you have perfectly clear, silky skin. it settled into fine lines and blemishes, as well as leaving behind streaks. i have a friend who has very clear, porcelain skin though. her only problem is her cheeks, she has a condition that leaves them reeeeally red. she uses this foundation for coverage and evening out the skin tone and on her it looks absolutely flawless :)
I bought this foundation as a compact alternative of my usual foundation, something to just throw in my bag if I am travelling or going away for the weekend etc. I have to say, at first I was a little disappointed, but after a couple of uses and application adjustments it grew on me.
If you buy this, do not use the sponge provided. Not only does it eat the foundation, it doesn't give a good finish. Use a stippling brush for the best finish, and top with a light dusting with a translucent powder.

When I was first introduced to this I loved it. I will say that this is lightweight and I can stand to have it on my face for hours at a time without feeling pimples are planning a major uprising on me. The thing that I do not like is that there is not right blend or shade for me and I have to mix. In the winter months I am a 42/44 mix. In the summer I am a 43/45 mix. I cannot wear just one shade as it is either TOO dark or TOO light. This would have been my number 1 go to, had I not been introduced to MUFE HD Foundation. That is my number 1 foundation, but in the event MUFE disappears off the face of the Earth or no one is carrying my color, I will by studio tech. If you break it down for me to have Tech foundation, I would be paying 64.00 (six months) and 128.00 (year) to have an assortment of 4 different colors, to take the time to BLEND OR MIX? No bueno! I have no problem with the quality or the coverage, it's nice but sheesh.

This foundation is considered my "Special Event" makeup due its price. I was matched to a NW45 and due to my dry skin the MUA used this product on me due to its creamy texture. I have not been disappointed at all with this product. It provides medium coverage like I prefer and I apply with a damp makeup sponge. I dont set it with a powder but with MAC FIX + instead and my face looks absolutely flawless! But like I said I dont wear this everyday only when I know I am in the spotlight or for events :)
