Boy oh boy, I sure hated to pay the 50 bucks for this baby! But, it does such an amazing job brightening up my skin, I had no choice. :) My first experience was a sample size, and I couldn't really believe that it made that much of a difference...but it did. And I'm no newbie to skincare, that has always been my passion! But truly, this is a good one for me. It brightens, smooths, refines, heck I use it on my hands, arms, chest, shoulders, and neck too. I will probably always hate to pay for it, try not to, turn into a dull-face (not a dollface, a dull-face) and then shell out the bucks to get the good results that it gives. Some things are worth paying for, this is one of them.

At first, I didn't like this product. It dried out my skin and I didn't even use it every day. But I made a couple of changes in how I use it. First, I use this at night. I do any treatments at night as I think it allows the products to really sink in my skin as I sleep. Second, I use this after the PreCleanse but before the cleanser (I don't use a Dermalogica cleanser. I had a really bad reaction from Special Cleansing Gel, so I've gone back to my trusty Aveda.). The instructions say to use after cleansing. I tried that but it left my skin very dry and ashy looking. I usually exfoliate prior to cleansing anyway, so I'm glad I went back to that. The dark spots I got from the reaction using the SCG have lightened from using the Daily Exfoliant. It rinses off very easily. The price is kind of steep; I haven't had to pay for one yet. I received a trial size - .45 oz, and I still have half a bottle left from using it 3 to 4 times a week for the last 2 months, so I think it lasts a long time. I like it.

Very average. I'm surprised alot of celebs rave about this product. I didnt find that it was an exfoliant AT ALL, rather a weird smelling wash off cleanser. It didnt make a blind bit of difference to my very oily skin even after having used it for afew months solid. Odd smelling and very expensive. Not a very good exfoliant at all.

My dermatologist and the woman who gave me a facial both recommended this for my dry, sensitive, blotchy, rosacea-prone skin. It did not work for me and was just too drying. It jut aggravated my skin and made it more red. I can see how it would work for other people because the abrasion is so mild. I'm just too much of a delicate flower I guess! Will definitely not repurchase.

So far the best microfoliant ever (of the ones I tested). Even my extremely sensitive skin is getting along with it very well.
I don't use it on a daily basis but I think it could be working for people with less sensitive skin. But I feel my skin does not need (and probably wouldn't tolerate) a daily exfoliating. Since dermalogica is quite pricey in continental Europe I ordered it in UK where I could save 50%. Will repurchase if I ever run out of it.

This is a good exfoliant, but even when used as recommended to me by professionals 1-2 weekly this was too harsh on my very sensitive skin. "Normal skin" is meant to use it up to twice a day. It did leave my skin feeling smooth, and at first I really liked the way it felt, but it ended up being very drying, even when followed by a moisturizing mask and moisturizer. I'm starting to think exfoliation really isn't for everyone. Some people just have a more vulnerable skin barrier and anything that weakens it leaves it wide open to irritation and further drying. Companies and skin care professionals need to realize this and not keep recommending the same basic skin care program to everyone.

Oh - and don't drop this, the plastic cracks easily, and make sure to keep the container completely away from moisture or you end up with a big lump of powder at the bottom and nothing coming out. (makes it impractical for the shower.) If you manage to stay away from these pitfalls the product lasts for ages - making it reasonably cost-effective despite the initial high price.

Got a small bottle of this to try out, and was expecting great things since virtually everyone seems to love this stuff.
The first problem with this is that it's difficult to use in the shower. You have to shake some into your hand, and then somehow screw the cap back on without dumping out what is in your hand. Once you manage that, you need to add 1-2 drops of water. This sounds simple enough, but not so much when your hands are wet and water is running down your arms. I suppose this could be solved by using this out of the shower, but I suspect that would be messy as well.
Once you've managed to get this stuff into the state it needs to be in, you start massaging it into your face to exfoliate. You'll be pleased by the clean citrusy scent, until it starts to lather, that is. Once it's fully lathered, the clean citrus scent goes away and turns into a gross, putrid industrial soap sort of scent. Not clean, not pretty, just....bile-like. You keep on going because hey, you're halfway done. You keep exfoliating away, but the product never really feels like it's doing much of anything. It's slightly gritty, yes, but not nearly enough, plus the water on your face dissolved the paste too much for anything to happen.
You finally rinse it off and your face feels tight, dry, and no smoother than it was before. Also, the nasty bile scent lingers and you'll probably want to wash your face with something to get that horrible smell off.
I've been using this while waiting on replacement brush heads for my Clarisonic, and no more. I'd use my Clarisonic (or a $4 scrub from the drug store, for that matter) over this any day. This is getting given away. Surely this has to just be me since everyone else seems to love it.

I purchased a small version of this off of eBay (for only $6!) after reading stellar reviews. So far, I have used it every morning for the past 3 days and I can already see a difference. My skin tone is evening out, my complexion is brighter, and my pores are minimized. I actually really like the powder-to-paste--It is unique and makes sense to me that a product that actually WORKS requires some DIY. Dermalogica products have been a miracle for my acneic skin... I used to have painful breakouts all over my chin, and now my skin is clear with the occasional SINGLE pimple now & again, thanks to the medibac skin kit. Trust me... you get what you pay for. continued >>

I absolutely love this product. It is so easy to use and Iove that the package dispenses just the right amount. I use this each morning after cleansing with my clarisonic. I have been using it for approximately 4 months now and have seen a huge difference in my skin. My skin is so much softer and just looks more even toned and smooth. It doesn't improve your skin overnight, or even in the first week but in the long term it has made a massive improvement. Would definately recommend.
