pros it don't cake or look powdery no matter how much you apply
it's pretty long lasting
cons it as a shine and i hate that
it's over priced
very little coverage
I was contemplating prior to buying this as never used any sort of powder products from MAC nor have I really spent a lot of money for a finishing/touch up powder. But I am soo glad I bought this and will re-purchase though seeing as I only use very little each day, this will definitely last me a very long time. I swirl it over my face with a powder brush after my liquid foundation has set and it gives a really nice matte-ish finish and just looks a lot better than the previous finishing powder I used to have.
This is a really great product. You can use it as a setting powder or as a very light foundation for those days when you just need to put something on that looks natural and walk out the door. I wouldn't reccomend this as a foundation for those who need to cover up problem areas like acne scars, redness, rosacea etc.
I have bought this powder time and time again because of the wonderful texture and coverage. On lazy/hot days, I just like to wear this over moisturizer to even out my skintone. The powder goes on smoothly and is virtually undetectable even in direct sunlight. I also love this as a setting powder, it adds a bit of extra coverage on the days that I need it and it doesn't make me look too matte. The only complaints I have would be the packaging and the color match. I would really like it if the compact included a mirror for more convenient touch ups. The medium color is also a bit too pink for my warm skin tone. Other than that, this is a great powder/powder foundation and I will definitely continue purchasing.
This is my light weight Summer foundation for 2011. (I like to try things out though so dear knows how long that will last for!) I am really impressed by how versatile this product is.
I can apply it with a Kabuki brush straight onto my moisturised skin and it looks quite Matte - great if you look Matte - or spray it with the Fix+ spray and it sets it and makes it look more 'skin-like'. I also experimented with this over a liquid foundation and it was lovely. I was worried it might look heavy and cakey, but applied with a fluffy brush it goes on light weight and is just enough to set make up.
The Medium seems to suit my skin tone quite well - I'm NW20. It gives good coverage, although my skin is pretty clear. I use a separate concealer to cover up any little blemishes - I currently have a couple of hormonal spots on my chin. When I bought this product the MUA had to apply some concealer to cover up the redness caused by the Mac makeup wipes she had used to cleanse my face.

This is a nice powder that provides just enough coverage without looking cakey. I prefer to wear this over moisturizer and concealer. I skip foundation whenever I wear this b/c in my opinion, both are not needed especially when using concealer. It covers blemishes and dark circles well, but don't expect this to cover freckles or severe scarring. Overall, I love this and just for the record my skin has very cool/ashy undertones therefore I found the light-medium amazingly darker than this in a yellow-y type way. This actually matches nicely to my NC20 (by the way I don't use NW to even out my complexion as the SA's will try to push on you. I'm cool toned so I wear cool.) If you have pink/ashen undertones like myself you would probably benefit from the medium as well. I do not see how this could possibly be a medium b/c I am no where near tan! Oh well, I love it and I'll probably repurchase unless I find something better (which I probably will for the sky high price tag!). Geez, when I checked out I sure wasn't expecting this to be $27~ I got 2 mac lip sticks and this and it came out somewhere around $53 dollars! Too much for my college student budget! haha
UPDATE: I ended up taking this back because it broke my face out in horrible cysts. My skin cleared within a week after I stopped using this. Too bad because I absolutely loved the coverage and finish ;(! I guess I'll just stick to my Stila Illuminating powder!
Great mineralized powder. I use this alone for quick on-the-go coverage, or over foundation to set. Very breathable and does not cover the natural elements of your face. Haven't used this one in the heat yet, though. For winter/spring, it's wonderful. I really like the baked thing it's got going on, but as I have used it more it seems as though it might be detaching and jiggling loose at the bottom. I am afraid to take it with me in my purse for fear that it was all become a powdery mess at the bottom.

I asked the sales assistant for something that would give me a glow but also get rid of shine. She gave me this in medium plus. However I have to review it here as there is no medium plus category. Anyway the advantages are that it gives you a glow. However the disadvantages are that your skin will get oily looking really quickly. It does not get rid of shine...or at least not for long! It also doesn't have a mirror which is a little disappointing for the price. Also, I have a feeling this is giving me spots as sometimes it's the only thing I apply and my brushes are clean.
Overall I'm a bit 'meh' about this. If you have dry skin, go for it. However combination skin girls such as moi need not apply!
For some reason, this powder will make your skin get oily by mid-day, i use the mac face & body found. in c2 and this on top to set, but by 2-3 hrs, my face has an oily sheen, it's worst in the summer so i skip out on moisturizer. i don't know, i think there's better powders out there. and for almost 30 bucks, i can buy 3 powders at the drugstore that work the same or even better so no thank you on the repurchase. the dome barely made a dip and i use this everyday once a day in the morning, no touch ups. so it'd easily take you 6 months if you reapply for this powders but 30 bucks is way too high of a price tag 4 me :-/ sorry, times are tough nowadays have 2 resort to less expensive items that work decent. my skin is in general good so i don't need the expensive stuff anyway continued >>
I love this! It made its way into the back of a drawer while I was "trying" to make BE work (and it didn't) .. I love the color of this in Medium on my NW25 skin. The finish is perfection. It's not heavy and after brushing it around with a big fat good brush, you can't tell it's on but it lends a perfect complexion. I wish it had a mirror, but that's ok. As far as the price goes, when I look around and lippies are running into the $50 range, this appears to be a steal...because it works! BTW the picture up ^ there isn't of this color, that's some sort of bronzer or something. Medium is a true medium, not warm, not cool just a perfect color. I will continue using/buying this and the BE went in the trash around 9 a.m. today!
