I expected this to be a great mascara hearing it from some youtube guru, but instead i had a lot of problems with this mascara.

-the application brush was horrible, it gathers way too much product
-the mascara clumps like crazy
-since it clumps and the brush is horrible, it smears alot on my eyelid
-it seemed like after a month the mascara became more dry and clumpy

i tried to love it, but i don't.

Overall this mascara really stinks. It is the blackest mascara I've ever seen, which is the only thing going for it. Other than that the formulation is runny, it smears way to easy, it doesn't add volume or length at all. But it is very very black...

great mascara. its super black but it can get clumpy. i just use a clean mascara wand to brush things out and its perfect. will definitely repurchase.

I've never had as many problems with a mascara as I had with L'oreal's Voluminous in Carbon Black. I initially purchased it because many Youtube makeup gurus rave about this product, but I highly dislike it.



Pros:

-very black

-voluminizing

-gives a false lash effect



CONS:

-SMEARS AND SMUDGES - even though I got it in waterproof

-clumps easily

-unnatural looking

-very wet formula

-does not hold curl well

-hard to work with brush



Bottom Line: The deal breaker for me was that it smears and smudges throughout the day. And it does not hold my curl well at all. Even though it is a waterproof formula! Also the formula is very wet so you have to wait awhile for it to dry so that it doesn't smear all over your lids. I will not use this mascara again unless I absolutely have to. continued >>

I love to try new mascaras, but this one I always keep on hand. My lashes are long, but light in color and this mascara works well with them, providing an intense black color. I do think that there are better mascaras out there, but if you're looking for something a little less pricey I would try this out.

Uggg!!!! This mascara did not give me any volume and no length whatsoever. Smeared completely under my eyes - worse than any mascara I think I've ever used. So disappointing...

I used to LOVE L'Oreal mascara. They used to have the top shelf quality (or close to it) for drugstore prices.
The past 4 times I bought this mascara however have bee a complete disappointment. After the first time I told myself it must have been the particular tube / drugstore I got it at..nope. Tried 3 more times, the same problem.
Straight out of the packaging I put it on and I have the WORST CASE OF SPIDER LEGS! One application, I was going to work so it's not like I was trying to put on layers and layers.
Had to take off my entire make-up and reapply. Had to use an old mascara that has been laying there for over a year!! and it did a better job than my brand spanking new L'Oreal.
Never purchasing again.

The color is nice, and the brush is awesome. I love the brush so much I want to save it and try it with other mascaras..

However I hated that the formula it flaked on me, it flaked so bad that it looked like I had applied black eyeshadow on my lower lids. I had to wipe it away three times. I have oily eyelids.

This is my FAVORITE drugstore mascara! I love the brush, I love the carbon black color, I LOVE the volume it gives me!
I have been buying this mascara for 4 years now and even though I'm always trying out other drugstore mascaras as they often have sales and new ones coming out, I ALWAYS have this one in my makeup drawer and it's always the one I've been going back to because it's that awesome!

After watching rave reviews on youtube, I decided to go pick up this mascara. The things I liked about this mascara is that it's very black and it doesn't smudge. However, it clumps alot and gives minimal length and volume.
