Do to the hype, I really wanted to love this mascara. Unfortunately, it weighs my eyelashes down. It does not hold a curl at all.
I have thick and heavy eyelashes which is why I struggle to find a good mascara. ALL normal formulas weigh my eyelashes down, cheap or expensive none hold a curl on my lashes. This one was no exception :-(
Due to the difficulty of removing waterproof mascara, I don't normally add two to three layers on a daily basis. I have found a way to holding a curl by applying my first layer with a waterproof mascara followed by one or two layers of a normal mascara. After applying my waterproof mascara (currently using some Mexican brand called Zan Zuzzi which is fantastic), I applied this L'Oreal Voluminous. I wasn't even done applying it to one eye when the curl was gone (no joke). £11.00 down the drain.
For those of you with similar problems, other mascaras that have worked on my stubborn/difficult lashes have been:
Max Factor Calorie 2000 waterproof (a lone or combined with Maybelline the Falsies Volum' Expres)
Rimmel ScandalEyes waterproof (a lone or combined with VS very sexy lashes)
This is my HG mascara!!<33 I saw alot of makeup youtubers always using this, so I decided to try it. This works AMAZING on my thin, sparse, straight down lashes. It gives me volume and some length. No clumps! The only reason I gave it a 4 tho, was bc it flakes :( but not alot. Would definitely repurchase c:
I am very upset with this product. I use the original L'Oreal Voluminous formula (both regular and waterproof) and continue to resort back to them when I want to sweep on some mascara. I have very light blonde eye lashes so Voluminous does wonders for the invisible lashes. Carbon Black makes my eye lashes pop as well, but I find this formula rubs off so much easier during the day, even when i use the hydrofuge one. And my eyes seem sensitive to this kind as well too. Im not sure why. This mascara seems to be clumpier as well. I will not be purchasing Carbon Black again. I will stick to my HG Voluminous regular version.
This mascara looks very black and very lush on my blonde eyelashes. I can apply multiple coats without it clumping or flaking. But at the end of the day, it's close to impossible to remove and I always end up losing a few stray lashes trying to take it off. The deal breaker is that it often smudges beneath my eyes, especially in warmer weather. The price ranges from $5 (Target, Walmart) to $8+ (CVS, Rite Aid, etc.) and I've been able to buy it for $2 with coupons from the Sunday paper. I'm moving on to mascaras that won't damage my lashes so much at the end of the day.
I purchased the waterproof version of this mascara. I had been using the regular Voluminous for years and thought I would try this after some youtube reviews. My opinion is, that it goes on okay, but you do not get the volume right away as with the regular Voluminous version. You have to build this up quite a bit, unlike the regular where you get a good amount on with the first stroke. It did not come out clumpy as some reviews here have stated, it could be with each production of this mascara that you get different qualities in manufacturing or shelf life. Overall, I won't repurchase. I like a mascara the packs a punch right from the first stroke.
This is a great mascara. Especially for the price - I just picked some up for $5.64 at Target. My lashes are sparse, so I have to use 3 coats, but it advertises as only "2x the Intensity" so that's to be expected. I use 3 coats of any mascara anyway, including Definicils. I don't buy the "12x" thickness mascaras because they're way too thick and clumpy. This is a beautifully liquid carbon black which is buildable without clumping. No spider legs here. My go-to mascara. Will /definitely buy again.
Ugh! Ugh! Ugh! The reviews were so good, including on MUG, that I had to try this. I need waterproof and finally it's available--very excited. Tried it yesterday. First of all, it doesn't voluminize (is that a word?) in any way. Barely showed up on me, and I don't have pale lashes. Secondly, and worse--by day's end I was in serious raccoon-eye-land. Ridiculous for a waterproof mascara! It's going right back to the drugstore. I'll stick with Maybelline Lash Stiletto.
This mascara makes my long eyelashes look very voluminous and long like no other :)
only con the brush comes out with too much product and if not clean properly it could get the eyelashes clumpy.
Super Black! Keeps lashes soft, but stay power is not good.
I liked it, made my eye lashes thicker :). The only bad thing is that the volume doesn't last long.
