I've used this for about a month now, and I like it. It hasn't cleared up my blemishes completely, but it does a better job than Clinique's 3 step system.
The first time I tried it I was grossed out because it smelled so badly. I was hesitant of putting it on my face, but I did it. After time you kind of get used to the smell but it doesn't disappear. Sometimes when I'm at school I can even smell it faintly for a second but it's not to the point that I'm worried anyone else can smell it under the makeup.
Use it without the lotion and it doesn't give red patches of dryness. It does give flakiness, but if you use a good moisturizer after the moisturizing gel from this line, you'll be fine.
So yeah, not quite HG material but it's good for what it is.
This product, in combination with ProActiv's Repairing Treatment (2.5% BP) and ProActiv's moisturizers (Oil Free Moisture w/ SPF 15 in the daytime and Green Tea Moisturizer at night), has cleared up my skin in record time without the bothersome dryness and peeling. I have sensitive, extremely acne-prone, finicky combo skin (a.k.a. worst type of skin ever), and my whole face tends to be dryer in the winter and oilier in the summer. I can't guarantee that this face wash will do wonders for everyone with that type of skin, but the key to MY personal success is to moisturize 2x a day and apply an effective acne-fighting treatment at night. On another note, I can't comment on how well this removes make-up, because I always use either Pond's cold cream or wet cleansing towelette prior to washing my face.
I'm sorry to read that so many people's skin got worse (dry or more broken out) due to this product. I love it. I have very oily skin, and I have used this product for about three months now and it works wonders. My skin is still oily and I still have a few pimples, but this cleanser has helped my skin so much. I use the Tea Tree line and the Seaweed line and with those two combined, my skin is noticeably less oily and acne-prone. I would recommend this cleanser to anyone with very oily skin or acne-prone skin. I would not recommend it to anyone with dry skin.
The first time I tried this, I was sold. My face felt and smelled so clean and fresh. I thought that this was the answer to my pimples. When I used this religiously for a few months, my oily face turned so dry that it peels and feels uncomfortable. I would never repurchase this.
Wow, I'm surprised that this doesn't have a higher rating. I love this face wash, and only deviate from it to save money. My skin is rather oily and acne prone, and when I use this I use it with shower gloves to give it some exfoliating power. This definitely keeps my oil under control and my acne to a minimum. I would definitely recommend the Body Shop's Tea Tree Oil line, but only if you have really oily skin and stubborn acne. They have other lines for dry, sensitive, and combination skin, because this would probably be too harsh for those skin types.
This product sucks. I got this as a Christmas gift and have been using it diligently for the past two weeks to at least give it a chance. It has dried my face out SO badly that my skin literally feels like sandpaper.. ew. It made me breakout twice as much as I normally do, due to the fact that it dried my skin out so ridiculously much. No amount of moisturizer is helping either:-( I have oily skin normally (probably due to the fact that my skin is so dry and this stuff completely just sucked out all the oil from my face, and left me with visibly dry, peely skin:(
I do not recommend this product to anyone with dry skin. My sister have oily skin with acne and this product worked wonders for her. Her oil was well controlled and her pimples reduced in numbers.
I used to use this on my face until i found a better product. Now, I use this as a brush cleaner. I may repurchase only to use it for my brushes :-)
I have only had this product a few weeks but I am loving it! I use this as a daily facial wash and I love how it makes my skin tingle, not burn. It's refreshing and I do notice a glow to my face and just overal improvement. After washing my face I use a little dab of the tea tree oil on my problem areas and then follow up with tea tree blemish fade night lotion or any light mositurizer. This is definitely a keeper!
