I love this stuff, it's one of my top three fragrances of all time. I have the perfume solid and it has lasted forever. A little of this goes a long way, as others have mentioned it is a bit heavy. The scent is warm, woody, spicy, and verging on oriental. Reminds me a bit of incense. Not a hint of floral or sweetness.

Amazing, one of a kind and unforgetable. These three words can only describe this perfume. But be careful! Don't spay more than once. Lasts all day but it's more suitable for more mature ages(above 30)

I love this scent especially after it is dry but you must be careful and only use one squirt and I usually put it on my back. If you use more than one squirt it may make you sick to the stomach. This is a wonderful all day lasting fragrance.

This smells like sandalwood. I can't even get a tiny bit of rose or jasmine note in this, it's just simply woody. This perfume smells exactly like those sandalwood fans I saw at my grandma's house when I was in China. That what I was thinking immediately after I open the box. I finally understand why everyone says that this perfume makes them smell like old lady. But it doesn't smell terrible either, my mom would probably like it.

My mom has a billion samples of this stuff from countless GWPs over the years. AE does not work with my body chemistry at all - with one dab I'm transformed from a bright and sunny twentysomething to an old, musky blanket hidden lying somewhere in my grandmother's attic. Yep, that's how strong this stuff is - it turns me into a blanket. Not good.

Tried this at first in sample size - initially thought the smell was weird but it quickly grew on me and now I love it. I think the main reason I love it is because it gets me so much positive attention - great on a day when you need a little ego boost. Seems like you really need the right body chemistry to wear this fragrance successfully but on me it is wonderful. One squirt is enough though, never use more or people will hate you. I love the shower gel too but would not use more than one of these products on the same day.

This is my least favorite perfume ever. I just don't get the appeal but hey, to each their own. Apparently a lot of people do like it because it's been selling for a long time. I would advise against wearing this to work though because I've heard from a lot of people, especially those with bad allgergies that the smell really bothers them.

I've been wearing this on and off for years. I don't care for the perfume but wear the body smoother or body cream, the lotions just seem to work better with my body chemistry. On my skin it dries down to a nice woodsy floral. It leaves a lasting scent on my clothes... some people pick up on the pachouli and don't like it but it never fails, when I wear it, someone always compliments me on how nice I smell. A little goes a long ways with this scent... I keep trying different fragrances but keep coming back to this one.. it's a great scent if it works with your chemistry.

One of my HG scents!! Smells better after it dries down a bit. Sophisticated and mysterious, a wonderful chypre fragrance. Will repurchase for many years to come, a classic.

I just discovered this scent for the first time when I smelled it on a girlfriend of mine. I could not decide if I really liked it but after smelling it on her later in the day I fell in love with it. I agree with many others that you have to use it sparingly. Just spary once into the air and walk through it. I also bought the body smoother, body wash and the body cream. They are all just as strong and really I use either the lotion or perfume but not both. The Velvet Sheer is wonderful as well but has a different dry down than the EDP. You can only get the Velvet Sheer on the internet..they do not sell it at the Clinique Counter anymore for some reason. The key to this perfume....the DRYDOWN. The initial 20-30 minutes it will smell strong but once it drys down it is beautiful. I hope Aromatics never stops making this scent. It is sensual, sexy and sophisticated. I am so glad it works with my body chemistry.
