I LOVE THIS... I use sunscreen in the day as I use a AHA/BHA facial foam in the night, and the blot powder helps to set the sunscreen (and concealer if I used it) and make my skin look perfect, even without foundation. I do get oily after 4 hours or so, but it's normal as I live in a tropical country and I have the typical oily skin, so I can't really blame the powder! This also comes without talc (according to the ingredient list), which is perfect for me as talc really breaks me out. Also, I've gotten this for about a year and despite using it everyday, there hasn't seem to be a dent yet... when I do finish though, I would definitely repurchase :)

I LOVE this powder!!! After years of searching and gaining more zits I finally found a powder that keeps me shine + grease free. I never breakout using this product!! I don't even have to reapply or do touch ups at all which is even more perfect for me since I live in the Middle East where its is extremely hot which causes more oil productivity and acne breakouts on my face. No more worries ever again!!

Fabulous product for oily skin. It barely has any pigment, so doesn't 'settle' into lines or pores. If applied with a brush over good foundation it gives an almost airbrushed finish; applied with the pad it's more natural. It never looks chalky or dry on the skin, just natural. I wish I could afford to have one in my bag and one in my make-up box! Will definitely be repurchasing - very pleased to have found it, which I did by using Makeupalley. I've only knocked a point off because I do have to re-apply around lunchtime; my IDEAL powder (which probably doesn't exist) would last all day.

I really wanted to like this product. I had very high expectations for this since it's my first MAC product and with all the rave not just about the whole brand but also this particular blot powder, I wanted to be in sync with these people who 'LOVE' it, unfortunately I couldn't get to.
Usually when I finish prepping for school, I'd get oily an hour after. When I use the MAC blot powder, I don't have to powder for about another hour. That's it.
Well at least it somehow worked. I could've given this a 3.5 or 4 but for the price paid, it's really not that good. Sigh. Disappointing.

I'm not one to write reviews for a product, especially without using that product for a reasonable length of time before judging it, however I'm really impressed with MAC's Blot Powder. Like many others, I have oily skin. I've spent the bulk of my adolescence looking like a giant oil slick. Now I use an oil free moisturizer for blemishes, a mattifying primer, loose mineral foundation and a silica powder to set (MUFE/ELF HD), and this has been working for me, but still find myself getting pretty oily over time and have to blot several times a day. I've been a long time MAC customer (6+ years) but hadn't tried any of their face products until now, simply because I had found a routine that worked. It now looks like I've got to incorporate MAC Blot into my daily routine :) While I only received the Blot Powder a few days ago, I've been completely shine-free all day. I was a bit apprehensive by the color of the powder in the pan (it looks like it would be chalky and too light, and I got the color Medium) but it is completely translucent on my face. Time will only tell if this stuff makes me break out (I am also acne-prone) but as of now, this product deserves a resounding five stars. For color reference, I'm an N15/20 (I think!) and use Medium.

This powder works wonders. I have a huge problem with oil, and find myself needing to blot by mid afternoon. With Mac Blot powder, I apply after my makeup in the morning and I’m set. Practically transparent, but last throughout the day. You use so little of the product that it will last forever. I’ve been using for over a month and haven’t seen any issues with break outs, like I see with other MAC products. I plan to keep this one around.

I've been using this for about 2 years. It works pretty well but if you apply it using the round cotton pad they give you, it can look cakey and powdery and you can actually see the powder on your face. But if you use a big fluffy foundation brush to apply the powder, it looks FLAWLESS and amazing!! so its very important that you use the right tools when using this powder. an even layer of this in the morning covers up redness and blemishes and helps keep my face less shiny all day long!

edit: this is my 3rd one. the first two eventually cracked and crumbled as other people have mentioned. if you drop it too many times that's what happens. it got all over the inside of my purse :(

my first MAC face product, and i am so in love with this! i have a combination skin (a bit oily on my T-zone area and dry on my cheeks and chin) but this helps control my oily for several hours.. and it doesn't make any breakouts on my skin.. :) i use MEDIUM shade, but it is more like a translucent powder, it doesn't give any color on your face.. :)

the cons part is that this is not finely milled.. :(

Ive never been a fan of Mac foundations/face powders. They always made me break out. But I absolutely love this product.

I was using nyc's loose powder in 'naturally beige' to set my Revlon colorstay foundation but my face has been getting oilier. NYC powder wasn't doing it no more. A friend suggested I try the blot powder so a Mac MA matched me with medium dark.

At first the color looked sketchy pale in the pan but it's perfect for my skintone. This blot powder does a fantastic job of keeping my t-zone shiny free. I only apply to my t-zone because that's where I shine the most and I dont want my face looking too cakey. I also use this to set areas where on my face where I used concealer.

I don't use the puff it came with. I use my beauty of Essence powder brush. Def will repurchase! ;)

EDIT:
My skin has been going through a weird change. This product makes me break out now :( I switched to maybelline dream matte powder in "medium beige"
