I really like this product. I have coarse, dry, damaged hair and usually require heavy conditioner to keep it smooth and sleek. I don't really need a conditioner after this product. My hair becomes light and smooth when I rainse my hair. A very good shampoo for its price.
Water tends to get stuck in the cap, so I usually turn it upside down, which makes it easier to use in the shower. This is a good conditioner, it really does add extra shine! It contains a lot of silicones, but it hasn't broken me out. Then again, I try to avoid using conditioners near my scalp. The consistency is a bit creamier than I'd like it to be, so it requires THOROUGH rinsing, but the benefits are nice. I use some cheap clarifying shampoo once every week to get rid of buildup. I don't mind the smell. It smells like apples, just like most other Garnier hair shampoos/conditioners. I really love how my hair feels once it dries now--it's so silky!
Update: Really can't stand the smell. :(
As usual Garnier has kept me impressed and satisfied. Using a little amount a few times a week, my hair stays soft, sleek, and healthy looking. It's great for when you've been out in the sun and your hair feels a lil' dry. Just be sure not to use it to often~or your hair will look and feel greasy.
I have been using this product regularly for a month or so and I have had no problems whatsoever. If I use it with the shampoo and anti-friz stuff, my hair is really sleek and straighter than usual. Even my mom keeps commenting on how shiny and healthy my hair has been looking lately. I have not broken out at all, and I actually like the smell. Though you may think it's a bit overpowering at first (I didn't but you might), it washes out and when blown dry or let dry naturally, it smells amazing. My hair is very smooth and not tangled or mangled at all. Thank you Garnier!
This isn't a horrible conditioner, but it's not that great either. I used to use the Sleek & Shine conditioner regularly and it left my hair looking pretty good (shiny, smooth, less frizz) but soon all the waxes, silicone, and whatever started to weigh my hair down and make it look kind of greasy. This conditioner smells kind of bad too; like rotting apples or something. Now I use Garnier's Long & Strong conditioner which works much better (and stinks much less). continued >>
Contains lots of silicones...broke me out BAD on my forehead, neck, chest, and back. It took me forever to figure out that my oily skin cannot handle that amount of silicone in a product. Too bad, because it did a great job of making my hair smooth and manageable. Cheap too. But smelled like overripe fruit. Oh well.
HORRID. I dont usually write bad reviews-- something has to be *really* bad for me to do this, because usually i write about products that i like. This, however, is a warning. I know many people like this stuff, but it was so not for me. CONS: 1. Sensitive to fragrance? Avoid this. Just run. It smelled so strong (like over-ripe fruit mixed with chemicals-- what the hell??!) that it gave me a headache. I had to wash my hair again to get the smell out, it was that bad. Fragrance is like the 6th ingredient-- i should have known. Anyway i let it dry, just to see what it did. If i had nice sleek-looking shine and no frizz or flyaways, it might be worth putting up with that stench, right? But Nooooo, this brings me to con #2. If ever there was a way for a conditioner to make hair feel oily and dry at the same time-- this is it. Maybe it was just my hair (which is fine) but, it felt fake, like my hair was coated with plastic. Not my usual reaction to silicones, normally i love them and have no problems. But this stuff was so fake it was as if it never rinsed out (couldnt get it off my hands without shampoo or shower gel, either). It's like a slick fake oil. Anyway after it dried, my hair was a fuzzy, frizzy, flat, poufy MESS. Now this is totally not the natural state of my hair, it is fine and prone to flyaways, but nothing like this. I went and washed my hair again immediately with clarifying shampoo and used a different conditioner. After it dried my hair went back to normal. I will never, ever, *ever* try this stuff again. It cane help but remind me of toxic waste, and that's about as good as it is for your hair. Run screaming from this product, and run fast.
I hate the smell of this. I agree with the other reviewer. This makes my hair super soft, but it doesn't flatten out my hair (which as bad for me because i have really thick hair). most conditioners, even really intense ones, don't make my hair as soft. Cheap and good for dry hair that's normal in thickness (too much for thin hair).
I have naturally curly hair and LOTS of it, this stuff tangled it up and smells like cat pee! What is that weird smell...won't repurchase: )
I love this product. The first time I used this (in conjunction with my new Ion hairdryer) a complete stranger told me that the shine from my hair caught their eye!!! I really do think this helps make my hair more shiny. I have oily hair, so I only use the conditioner on the bottom half of my hair (below the neck). I use this with all different shampoos and it still works great.
