I love this mask! I have fair skin that tends to get very red in the cheek area. I have found that this mask tones down the redness and doesn't upset my sensitive skin. I also love the smell! The only down side to me would be the chunks of blueberry skin that will flake off as the mask dries.
I wanted to love this mask, but I honestly felt like it didn't do anything for my skin. It just felt/smelled/looked great on it. It does leave your skin plump and moisturized afterwards. I can't stand masks that strip your face of moisturize. Sadly I feel like the reason why it is so moisturizing afterwards is because there is a layer of filmy oil left after. You'll have to re-cleanse and tone your face after this. Didn't do anything brightening and didn't help with my blotchy forehead.
This is my favourite Fresh Face Mask from LUSH! And I've tried almost all of them. Catastrophe Cosmetic gets rid of all the red blotchiness on my face! Leaving my skin eventoned and brightened. The effects also last well into the next day, in other words I don't have to wear foundation the day after using this just a little concealer . It also reduces the appearance of my pores and leaves my skin feeling super smooth. When my skin is acting up I can always count on this to save my skin. It is a beautiful lavender colour and smells great too! It's also really cheap, I get 4-5 uses for only $6CDN. Oh and just as the reviewer below mentions, make sure to stir it before using. Have repurchased twice and will continue too. TIP: with all LUSH masks if you use damp fingers you'll use less product and get a smoother, more even application.
It smells yummy =)
I put this one while I was in the bath so didn't have problems of flakes as some others mentioned!
It smelt yum and felt nice on my skin!
When I took it off, i still had redness on my skin, but overall skin looked brighter!
Would keep using it!!
I LOVE THIS MASK! Having spent so many years trying so many masks, I have to say that this is the ONLY mask that gives such dramatic immediate results. Right after rinsing it off, my skin colour is more even, my pores are visibly smaller, and my skin is much smoother! They decreased the amount of product in the tubs and also decreased the price. I get about 6 uses out of one tub, which works out to be about $1 per use, which is pretty good since this product actually works! Only thing is you have to remember to stir it up before applying, because the liquid tends to separate out on top... but overall, I love this mask and will continue to buy it again and again!
Preliminary review: Bought this yesterday on an otherwise unsuccessfull trip to Premium Outlets Yeoju in Korea. My skin is oily in the T-zone and I have been blessed with extremely small and easily clogged pores as well as allergies to a myriad of ingredients. I usually break out the very next day of using a product - used this yesterday and no-breakouts yet. My T-zone is a bit inflamed from over-scrubbing, and so far the mask seems to calm it a bit. I do not expect miracles, though. I have to add that I love anything with blueberries: The smell; the cute little round shape; the bluish-black color; and most of all eating them... Thus this mask's biggest challenge with me right now, is to resist eating it. Update: After using it a couple of times I noticed residue after use and soon little pimples appeared. This has glycerine in it, which my skin does not tolerate.
I have very oily skin that breaks out fairly regularly. I am a regular user of clay masks and find them generally useful in keeping breakouts down. But they are often overdrying and harsh. This mask is nice because while it seems to soak up the oil and leave my skin looking nice and smooth, it does so without stripping my skin of moisture or leaving it red and irritated. My one complaint would be the texture-it gets flaky and "sheds" as it dries. This is way more effective, gentler and cheaper than my regular mask, and I definitely will repurchase. UPDATE-Just got another tub and there was a bit of water separated from the mask. Mixed together for a thinner consistency, there was no flaking and shedding like before. Problem solved, back to adoring this now.
If u use it right, it will make your skin red-free, non-oil and nice. (Although it may not work for people with super oily skin or super dry skin.) Put it on and wait. When u take it off, try to rub GENTLY. Those who rub hard will only get red skin. Be patient as it may take a while to get all of it off. Pat dry and if parts of ur face are dry, gently rub with a washcloth and apply moisterizer to those spots right after.
I LOVE the blueberries in this and it works great!
It makes my skin
- not red
- makes my pores look smaller
- makes my skin look fresh
This is the ONLY MASK THAT HELPS WITH OIL on my face
Oh, forgot to mention THIS WILL NOT CURE YOUR ACNE OR PERFORM MIRACLES, but it is still good :)
this mask smells very strongly of chamomile, with maybe a hint of blueberries... and lingers long after i wash the mask off. it's not a bad scent, but still a bit too heavy for my usual preference. there are bits of blueberry in the mask, which is also what turns the mask itself a pretty shade of blue-purple. it's a little messy to apply because the consistency, which is a little thick, causes the product to migrate to the top of my fingers as i try to spread it on my face before it falls off. another annoying part is that when it dries, the mask becomes flakey and little bits have a tendency to "dust" off. i love the initial application of the mask though... so cooling (from having been stored in the fridge). the mask itself is ok -- didn't perform any miracles. i did find that it seemed to temporarily brighten my skin a bit and reduce some of the redness, but was disappointed that my face didn't feel particularly soft like other reviews mentioned. i love that this is "fresh" and i find it to be decently priced... and since i have a smaller face, i do get more bang for my buck. i also actually like that this has an expiration date since it forces me to use this more regularly. however, given the messy application, i might have to pass on this one in the future.
