This mascara works really well for me; it doesn't smudge much unless it's really humid or pouring rain. I think it gives really good length and volume and holds curl ok. I probably wouldn't repurchase it just because of the price.

The formula is not too thin or gloopy, and glides through lashes, one coat gives a natural look eyelashes appear blacker and thicker, drying time is about average with virtually no of clumping. A second coat seems to thicken lashes further, adding length and the hypnose effect. So what alluring effect does this give? Don't ask me how, no other mascara has ever done this, and no I don't curl my lashes, it truly fans the lashes, to give an almost feline look. This clever illusion makes eyes appear wider, drawing others in, hypnotic as Lancome may say. This is why I prefer to reserve this as a special mascara, rather than everyday.

The mascara wears well at about 8 hours, and is easily removed with normal eye make-up removers. There is no flaking, I have a big problem with this, as I rub my eyes all the time, and find very few mascaras that suit. As far as the water resistance of this mascara, this isn't a waterproof version but does hold up in the rain well. The main difference noted was a little bit of smudging, but the feline shape of my lashes and their overall black appearance remained.

Pros:
Volumizing
Dramatic
Very Black
Sleek and Classy Packaging

Cons:
Clumps
Smudges like Crazy
Does not Hold Curls

This mascara was okay. Considering the price it's definitely not worth it. There are many high quality drugstore mascaras that are affordable and work just as good or even better than this. For my short and thin Asian lashes that shoot straight down this is a big no-no. Also the formula is too wet for my lashes and really weigh them down, making them soggy and droopy and impossible to hold a curl. It also clumps if your not careful and smudges after a few hours. It does give a lot of volume though and I like how rich the black color is. Overall I think this would be good for people who have naturally thick lashes that want to enhance them. I'm sure for other people this would be a great mascara that could imitate wearing false lashes but this just not right for me.

I generally dont really care too much about this mascara, ive tried better! I bought this when i was just browsing in a department store and wanted to try out a brand i never used before. The SA told me that this mascara was one of the best selling in many countries, so I bought it along with their eye liners.

I dont think its great, but i can see difference in my lashes when i apply it on, it gives me a lot of volume but lacks length. i have straight medium length lashes so to gain long and volumized lashes i need to mix 2 mascaras together.
Im not too keen on the packaging either as i prefer just a simple straight tube design.

it was quite expensive for me, especially that i dont think its as great as the SA and some reviews said it was suppose to be.

i guess, for volume i would purchase it again, but this mascara for me has to be paired with a lengthing one.

Meh. OK don't get me wrong.... this is a great mascara: lengthens and thickens.. keeps an ok curl... doesn't flake (still smudges on me but that's b/c I wear straight Shea Oil on my face). It FEELS luxurious and rich... does that make sense? Really it does. BUT: the price does not make it worth it. You can get great results with cheaper mascaras. Mind you, I'll check the toxicology report (EWG Skin Deep) on this.. it seems to be lower in toxic chemicals.. and if that's true, then I might find it worth the price if compared to the cheaper brands.

My favourite product!!!! And I have literally spent thousands of dollars in my lifetime on different mascaras.

Im always trying new mascara, breaking the bank doing so, BUT if i had to choose one mascara to use for the rest of my life, I would definately choose hypnose.

Pros:
- It is a wet but smooth application (i prefer wet formulas)
- very volumising with 2-3 coats
- very lengthening
- decent definition
- very,very dark
- easy to add coats for more drama, but dont coat when its dry! only semi-dry

Cons (lets be honest, there are some)
- the price (but its worth it for a good mascara)
- curl factor is poor. i have fine lashes so it does weigh it down. i find curling when its completely dry give the BEST dramatic, amazing effect.
- the final drawback is what I find, the formula drys quickly. i find this for most lancome mascaras and i LOVE wet formulas so those that don't mind mascaras a little dryer, it wont bother you.

Will cause spider lash effect if not used properly.

APPLICATION TECHNIQUES FOR THE BEST HYPNOSE EFFECT:

1. Wiggle the wand very slowly at the base of the lashes and hold for three secs and move upwards very slowly while wiggling,
2. Don't forget the coat on the top of the lashes lightly by curling the wand outwards then going through the bottom of the top lashes again.
3. Add additional coats VERY lightly and slowly.

this is a good product but for the price you can get better.

it really does lengthen your lashes however I find it a little clumpy and can be too heavy. usually I dap the brush on a tissue lightly to remove any excess before applying it to my lashes, this gives me a lighter coat true but I prefer that to heavy clumpy lashes like what's shown in the picture. another flaw shows up when I go to remove it, it takes awhile to remove and makes my lashes dry.

I would not re-purchase this because for the same price you could get a better one.

The MUA who posted a picture of herself wearing "Hypnose" clearly used the entire tube of mascara, it looked awful. Personally, I love this makeup, it separates my lashes well and gives me a nice amount of length. It is not meant for a dramatic look (I use this mascara for casual events, mostly school), I prefer Dior Show or l'Oreal's Voluminous Mascara for a more intense look.

I gave it a four instead of a five because I find that it does clump together the lashes if too much is applied, there are mascaras, it seems, that can be applied forever without clumping. Nevertheless, a couple of coats do go a long way with this beauty treat.

I normally don't like to spend more than $10 on mascara; however, every time I splurge and buy this one, I'm always asking myself why I ever waste my time with anything else! This is hands down perfect. It lengthens and separates beautifully. I think it is worth the 25 bucks to have perfect lashes every time.
