I am really torn on this one, thus the 3 stars. On one hand it's a highly captivating scent. The mix of almonds and vanilla almost smell like aniseed to me, which I adore. BUT, after a few hours of wear it starts to literally make me nauseous with its cloying sweetness. It makes me so sad because the bottle is irresistible. Oh Dior, why must you torture me so!
I get the play-do effect from this, I really do. Smells like scented plastic on me. I really wanted to enjoy it, the reviews made it sound SO good. Very disappointed. Didn't purchase it, thank goodness.
I really thought I would like this but it just didn't work on me. It turned into a cheap sweet smelling mess on me. I am sure it is great on the right person but that person is not me. I love the bottle however.

This is the first fragrance that I WILL finish a bottle with~!
I got this for myself one year ago this week, and I am almost done the bottle! I have never loved a fragrance enough to get through an entire bottle (and I am almost 37 years old lol).
It's mysterious, sexy, not flowery, sugary, or .. floofy LOL I get amazing compliments every time I wear it.. even people asking what it is so they can buy it for their loved one!
To help the scent last through the day, I dole out one spritz to my hair before I walk out the door (last way longer than on my wrists). A little goes a long way, and I've not met one person who's 'offended' by this fragrance yet.
I am very much looking forward to buying a new bottle when this one runs out!

Very sexy perfume...I purchased it a week ago and I can't let it go. I love everything vanilla and this is perfect for those who love vanilla that doesn't smell like cake. Although it's EDT do not let yourself tricked because it is very strong so just a few puffs is enough. Words that describe this perfume would be: sultry, seductive, classy, damn sexy.

So, I've never owned this product, but we sell it at work and during the winter, I love wearing it. I noticed that this is primarily sold to and worn by an older generation, but I still love it. Out of the bottle, it does smell like a grandma perfume, but something about my body chemistry mellows it out and it smells like a great big HUG. It's spicy and sweet and warm (it's considered "modern oriental" with middle notes of jasmine and some other things) and it is a great feminine winter scent. Something about it makes me a little nostalgic for my childhood too. Maybe the spices....
This is a winner in my book. :)
I said "no" to buying this bc it's too pricey for me. But if I ever had the chance to own it for free, count me in. lol

A winner in my book. This starts out nice and sweet, with lots of depth that includes beloved almond and root beer-like notes. It tones down to a rich, dry sweetness with caraway note most prominent on me. I get tons of compliments wearing this. Just perfect for cold weather. The bottle is beautiful as well.
Have to say to the reviewer below who says, "something about this reminded me of old people...and that is never a good thing!" should really rethink her views or keep them to herself.

This perfume is sex in a bottle. It contains notes of spice, almond and vanilla, but I also smell notes of tobacco when I spray it. This is one of my other fav. fall/winter scents and I always get compliments when I wear it. It's sexy and womanly without being cloying or matronly. I also love the bottle, it looks like an apple in some dark fairytale. Love it!

In the 80's, my aunt used to wear the original Poison, and I remember thinking how sexy and grown up it was. When she wasn't around, I'd douse myself in it. Later, when I was in my early 20s, I tried the original Poison again, and I found that it smelled fishy on my skin; however, Hypnotic Poison was perfection with my chemistry. It is a sweet, warm, dark almond with a sharp vanilla. Sweet, yet naughty. This scent feels almost witchy, supernaturally sweet . It's something I'd imagine a gypsy wearing. When I smell this perfume I think of crystal balls and femme fatales. This is NOT suitable for the summer or spring. I'd say it works best with cold air, darkness, and cozy sweaters. If you like perfumes that smell like plastic cotton candy, sunshine and lollipops, or clean purity, you will detest Hypnotic Poison. Also, if you try Hypnotic Poison, Do not go overboard! This is a potent perfume that is very sexy and womanly, but should be applied in moderation. This is a perfume for a woman who knows what she wants and always gets her way. A woman who is sweet, but also blatantly sexual, slightly bitchy, and dark at the same time. Hypnotic poison is a lady in red with a plunging neckline who's guaranteed to tie a man to a bedpost and walk away with peals of laughter and the ghost of her sensual perfume floating in the breeze.
