I have been suffering from acne for a while now..so i tried out the Clinique Acne Solutions 3 step skincare system. It made my face look terrible. it dried out so much, and made me have even more breakouts. i used it for about a week, but i just had to go back to my regular skin routine. I will never make the mistake of buying this again..especially since it was 32$. maybe its just me, but i got itchy dots around my chin, they weren't acne for sure, it might have been an allergic reaction. my skin is still recovering...so i recomend that you do not get it.
but, i do like there make up line, you guys should check out there eye shadows(;
I think this is a good regimen for those who are battling with acne. Like most acne solutions, you really have to be committed to using the product before seeing results, and sometimes that means it could take up to 8 weeks. My sister had severe acne, and she was so depressed because NOTHING worked for her (and trust me, she has used every single product known to clear acne, from high end brands, to drug store brands, to prescription medications) and none worked for her until she tried Clinique's Acne Solutions. Within weeks, I swear her face got sooo much better, and a year later, her face is clear! Clearer than mine!
Seeing promising results from my sister, I decided to give it a try. I have been using Clinique's Acne Solutions Line for a year now, and I have seen a huge difference on how clear my skin has gotten. I wouldn't necessarily recommend buying the whole acne 3 step skin care, because I find that the Acne Solutions Cleansing Bar cleanses my face way better than the Acne Cleansing Foam. The only thing I don't use from this acne line is the Acne Solutions Clearing Moisturizer because it did more harm to my skin than good. I do use a prescription topical medication as a replacement and Clinique's Moisturizing Gel for Oily Skin. I find that this regimen works best for me.
Every single person's skin will react differently, that's why I recommend you trying this line out for yourself and stick with it. Hopefully, it'll work well for you as it has for me and my sister. Let me warn you, your face may get worse before it gets better so you'll need alot of self confidence and tell yourself you can get through this ugly stage. It'll also take alot of patience and commitment before seeing results. I hope I helped a few readers with this review, because believe me, I know how much it sucks to deal with acne. Give this acne solutions line a try, and see what works for you and what doesn't. continued >>
I bought this for my daughter, she is a teen and had a big problem with acne. She had tried Proactive, and several other products, none worked. Her skin is sensitive, and the acne free works so well for her. It is really amazing how her skin looks now after 2 months of use, her skin is smooth and soft and alot less oily. Her acne is so much better, she just has like 1-2 pimples(before her face was covered in acne) Her face is also not red or inflammed anymore..this stuff is great! I started using it myself (I have oily skin, large pores, and prone to mild breakouts) and I love it as well, I think it is gentler then Proactive, which I was using before. My face feels softer and is less oily. I will definetly buy this again and again.
This is a great skin care set for more acne prone skin, I recommend it to anyone who has persistent breakout meaning 3 or more blemishes at all times. It targets acne from every angle by cleansing skin of dirt and oil and then with the clarifying lotion has the oil absorbing powders as well as salicylic acid which sweeps away dead skin cells that lead to clogging of the pores and then the moisturizer has benzoyl peroxide which clears up present acne as well as prevents future break-out! Within two days I noticed the texture of my skin was so much better!! Acne solutions 3-step has four active ingredient in the system your skin cannot build up a tolerance to it, most over the counter acne skin care sets only use one active ingredient manly being benzoyl peroxide your skin builds up a tolerance to it and it becomes less effective over time.
For me, this product is the only thing that has really worked for me. After using it, my face had clear up from acne really well. I used to get large pimples that were sore and hurtful. And i even noticed that when i dont use it, i start to break out again so i absolutely need this product. It prevents new pimples and i break out less often. I also love that every step has a high % of acne fighting ingrediant compared to some acne kits or drug store acne washes. Its the only thing i feel is strong enough to actually do the job of getting rid of my acne.
Con: there are complaints that its drying and too harsh. It is drying for me in certain areas but its not so bad, i think because i have oily/combination skin. I sometimes skip the moisturizer (which contains binzoyle peroxide) because i think its what makes my face dry sometimes. And i feel as though the kit doesnt do anything for acne scars like fading it. So i need to use something else for that problem.
I am a Clinique junkie and love all their products. I have used their skincare since I was 12. After awhile, the regular 3-step skincare wasn't cutting it and my skin was starting to stay oily. Therefore, I started using the Acne Solutions kit.
First, I love it. My skin has never looked better. I am never oily. Never breakout. Nothing. The only issue is that the products do dry your face out and you have to combine the lotion with the moisturizing GEL in order for your skin to stay moisturized. This will get rid of ALL of the flakiness or dryness. If your skin is still dry, just use the moisturizing gel for a few days and you'll be good to go.
Overall, I love this product. Great find. The only skincare line I will use. Definitely a good buy for oily/acne-prone/oily-combo skin. If you have dry skin, get a new moisturizer for sure.
After reading reviews on MUA and Sephora, I decided to head to my Sephora and buy a kit. A week passed of using this and my face is totally dry and the sides of my nose were peeling. I hated cleansing my face knowing that it's going to burn and sting like crazy. I continued to use it anyways, thinking that my skin would get used to it, but I couldn't handle it anymore and went straight back to Sephora. Although it did get rid of my acne, it wasn't worth the pain I was trying to deal with.
I have been using the Clinique Acne Solutions Cleanser and clarifying lotion for skin Type 3 for 3 and a half weeks now. I was on Biore product line before i switch over to clinique. I wish I would of switch over to Clinique a long time ago. I was afraid to spend extra bucks for something that won't work., but I gave in because I was tired of seeing my acne scars.
Through out my teens I only have minors acne mostly on my forehead, but after I had my daughter I had acne on my cheeks and none on my foreheads. I had cystic acnes, so even if i don't pop them it will eventually pop by itself.
I have tried most drugstore brand and proactive but none of them would work. I am allergic to Benzo Peroxide.
So when I was at the clinique counter, I told the lady assisting me that I can't use the beno peroxide moisturizer that came with the set.
So she recommended the Dramatic gel. After 3 days of using Clinique, I saw a slight differences already. My skin is much smoother in texture and my acne is slowing going away. Even when I pop an acne, it dries up fast and peel in a few days. I haven't gotten a breakout or have a huge pimple yet since i started on clinique. The only complaint I would have is the toner. It's very strong in smell and it stings. I always wish it was a pump. I tone down the stinging by adding water to my cotton pad then squeezing the water out. Then adding the toner to the cotton pad, so the water will help lessen the chemical they had in that toner. After two weeks of adding water to the cotton, now I dont even use water, just pure toner and i dont feel anymore stinging.
The dramatic gel keeps my skin soft but after a few hours i get oily which i dont like but at least I am not breaking out.
My acne scar is lighter now, but hasn't gone away. The lady recommend the Dark Corrector to fade the scars, but i didn't want to buy a bunch of products and having it not work. So I might go back to get the Dark corrector.
I am very happy with the results so far. The lady told me to use it for at least 2 months before I see a dramatic differences, so I will do an update review in a few weeks.
Before using this product, I had a real problem with my skin. Thanks to a particular powder I was using, I had started to break out in cystic acne. Even if I cut down my makeup use significantly, it wouldn't help. The pimples would be underneath the skin, be painful to the touch, and resulted in bruised skin. They would never come above the skin and sometimes it would be weeks before any improvement could be made.
My problem areas were my cheeks and my jawline. I would always be with about 5 pimples. And pimples that hurt!
I tried a bunch of drugstore stuff. Nothing ever worked and some made my skin extremely sensitive to the sun (which was really bad considering I live on Guam). So, I decided to give this system a shot. People were recommending Proactiv to me but I personally don't like the idea of not being able to run to the nearest department store and buy something.
About three weeks ago, i went out and bought the travel-size/starter kit that came with the foam cleanser, the toner and the moisturizer. I began to use it religiously but found that my skin was horrendously dry, something I never dealt with before. It was so dry that my face was COVERED IN BUMPS.
But the sales associate told me that it would get worse before it would get better, so I tried to ride it out. But after two weeks of parched skin, I decided to alter my routine. I figured it couldn't get worse than cystic acne or skin with the texture of sandpaper.
Instead of using the Acne Solutions lotion twice a day, I only used it only during at night and for the day I would use the Dramatically Different.
AND DRAMATICALLY DIFFERENT COULDN'T BE A BETTER TERM TO DESCRIBE IT! My skin just became extremely soft. My nose used to be covered in black heads and now they're all gone. And while I would love to say that the number of pimples reduced to zero, I just can't. But I can't express how happy I am that they aren't cystic pimples anymore. They surface and with AS they disappear within a day or two.
To those who are contemplating buying it: do it! The first couple of weeks will be rough but sometimes it's necessary. And if you need to alter the steps, then do it!
I was disappointed by this system. I had tried ProActiv before this, and that didn't work for me. I don't have horribly bad skin, but was still getting some pimples and blackheads, so was looking for something to get this under control. I went to the Clinique counter and was recommended this skincare regime - I was excited about trying this, and hoping it would work, because Clinique has such a great name. HOWEVER, it really did nothing. Didn't make my skin worse, didn't make it any better. It was a bit drying, and the moisturiser, although helping redness, was not moisturising at all. I now use Trilogy and A'kin products with much improvement, and will never buy something like this again. I think personally, natural products are less harsh and more effective for my skin type. Then again, if this works for you, thats great. For me, and for the price, there are better products out there.
