I am so IN LOVE with this soap! I've been using it for about a week, and my skin looks and feels like a baby's behind...but it doesn't smell like one, b/c this has a fresh but mild soapy fragrance to it. it's only 3 bucks or something, so everyone should at least try it. dermatologists swear by it, and so do I. I've had my skin problems (perioral dermatitis, mild to moderate acne over the years) and this just sooths and balances like nothing else. the ingredient list is also quite short and very clean. Give this soap a shot! It may slightly dry out some people's skin if they don't moisturize, but I don't use any moisturizer and this doesn't dry out my face.
best product ever. also, great makeup remover :)
edit: oooook I've moved on to a Paula's Choice cleanser. this cetaphil bar started to lightly break me out all over my chin in little white pustules. no biggies though still very heartbreaking. I must move on. my rating will lamentably have to change now. :( overall, I think this bar is supposed to be for the body....shave your legs w/ it or something.
The only cleanser I've used that is comfortable, cleans well and doesn't upset my Rosacea. Doesn't over dry my fragile middle aged skin!

I love that cetaphil liquid face wash for oily skin, I am impressed as senstive skin i am, i didnt have any dryness to my face with this facial wash, I use it daily and it doesnt dry your skin, I am planning to get a larger size of this facial wash for oily skin, I also tried the regular face liquid wash of cetaphil, this one is fantastic also, but a little moisturzing for summer, so this summer '08, I am now using this Oily version face wash of cetaphil LOVE IT !!! And my complexion looks healthier!!!
I had used this product for a long time...for 3 reasons.
1. dermatologists recommend it,
2. it's very inexpensive, and
3. it was a good basic cleanser.
(I don't use it any longer though because I fear that bar soaps can clog pores because of the binding agents)

Good for sensitive skin.
so far so good, eventhough ive been only using this product for like a week now, i can tell the difference right away.. my skin has ALWAYS been veery dry over my nose area, never knew why. but since ive been using this soap everything is normal, i dont have that dry skin peeling off my nose all the time, now is soft and nice.. im so glad i found this soap.. anyway if i see any changes in the future i will definitely let u know.
ps. very cheap too, less than 4 dls. :)

So after reading all of the amazing reviews about Cetaphil I decided to give it a try. The cleansing bar seemed like the way to go for me. In the past I have found bar soaps to be drying, but this one is different. My skin is left soft and smooth. It is also extremely gentle so it doesn't irritate my skin. This is definitely something I will always have on hand for my combo skin. I would imagine this being beneficial as a body wash as well. The smell is a bit strong, in a soapy kind of way, however you get used to it. In the morning I wake up to clean, smooth, clear skin. If you are looking for something mild, yet effective give this a try.
This soap is great, I read good things about this & I was torn between the Gentle Skin cleansing bar or the Gentle Skin cleanser, so I bought both. I use the cleanser in the morning and I wash my face with the bar at night. The bar does not make me dry, it is so very softening and my skin is in a much better place that it was a couple of weeks ago! continued >>
i come from a place very humid, and i naturally have oily skin. i was in training during fall-spring in illinois. my skin got drier. but i was still having breakouts. i was using neutrogena, and it was drying me out like crazy. my friend recommended this to me, and OMG, it worked! the soap cleanses well, and doesn't really dry your skin out, but then i add the moisturizer too. my skin became so much healthier! i don't use this now, only because i'm back to humid climate again, and don't know if this will do as well since it's more moisturizing. but i do recommend anyone with skin issues to just give it a try first. there's no doubt cetaphil is beneficial. btw, my son has eczema, and i use cetaphil for him. it's mild and moisturizing.
I would definitely buy this product again. This cleanses really really well without drying like many other body soaps. =)
