I was not impressed with this foundation. It didn't go on evenly, didn't seem to last, and in an hour my face was shiny. No, I will not buy this product again.
Most people seem to like this stuff...I stand on the other side. I tried this foundation once or twice b/c a neighbor had it and i needed a small touch up on my foundation after a long day. It worked great and i loved the coverage. So, i made a point to find a mary kay lady as fast as i could and buy the stuff myself. $50 later i had two bottles of foundaion and some mineral powder. all 3 products ended up being too dark but the worst part of all was how horribly the foundation broke me out. it was unbelieveable. so i kept piling the stuff on thinking it was hormonal acne and i just created a vicious cycle. the one thing im trying to do for myself is get my skin cleared up and healthy as use of several different products has left its mark and some struggling years of acne. i had never had problems with makeup breaking me out before and i didnt pay much attention. one evening i had removed my foundation but a friend decided to go out last min. so i borrowed some of her mary kay foundation as i had nothing else. i even TOLD her it would prolly break me out but i put it on anyway. sure enuff...the next day im on the phone with her telling her how bad im getting acne again and she reminds me tht i used this stuff. i dont like it. thts just my opinion...seems many women are quite satisfied with it however. guess u'll never kno until you just try it

Made me appear way too chalky and fake. It shows every pore on my face. Will not repurchase. Straight to the trashcan!
I didn't like this stuff at first (color choice wise), but after using Stila's mediocre product for awhile, I thought I should revisit MK since a friend is selling it. This was $14 compared to Stila's $36. It took me awhile to get matched and learn out to best apply it, but I think I have the hang of it now. I put some on my disposable wedge sponges and then apply it to my face in dots, then rub it all in. I do have to use concealer, but not too much. My face simply glows! Also, I like this pink and white container MUCH better than Stila's glass one... too risky IMO. I haven't broken out from this stuff...
Update: They need more shades... the one I'm using is a bit too dark for me... but I'll finish the tube before I'll look for something else. A shame considering how cheap this is!!!
I bought this foundation at a Mary kay party. Darn those pressure parties! I was advised to buy the medium coverage because of my oily skin. I felt that the coverage was okay, but the color was never right. They just don't have enough shades. The foundation went on smoothly, but I felt that my face looked really shiny throughout the day and I think it contributed to a few pimples. I wouldn't recommend this foundation, it also broke my friend out really badly.
It totally broke me out over a couple of days and makes my face oily by the end of the day. Don't get me wrong, it has great coverage and looks flawless, especially under the mineral powder foundation but it just isn't for me.
A friend that started selling Mary Kay gave me a sample of this. I have oily combo skin and this foundation does help control the excess oil. It is a very light, natural finish. It dries quickly so you have to blend it in quickly. I think it's perfect for summer wear but the coverage was a bit too sheer for me. I have some acne scars and it was too light to cover so you will need a good concealer. Once most of the scarring heals, I will revisit this product.
I'm not big on foundation because every one i've tried as felt heavy/oily and transfered everywhere it touched. But, I love Mary Kay's foundation!!! It has a light consistency, isn't oily at all, has good coverage and looks natural and it's soooo easy to use. My Mary Kay lady showed me how to apply it using just my fingers, which eliminates alot of makeup application time, which makes me happy :)
I have very oily skin. My face shines like a disco ball when using liquid foundation. This foundation has changed that. I love it. It keeps my oilys at bay without the use of powder or touch ups. Its alittle hard to blend. If you use the right sponge (beauty blender) it turns out amazing. I no longer look in the mirror and have to powder my face. I have experineced no breakouts with this foundation either. Mary Kay has alot of great products at low cost. This has staying power so make sure to use a makeup remover to take this off. ;-)
I never in a million years believed I'd buy a Mary Kay foundation as I believe their whole line is overpriced. But my sister decided to start selling it. I accompanied her to a staff meeting where she practiced (on me) how to pick colors for people at a party. She picked Ivory 202 on me and I must say that it was the most perfect color match I have ever had! It's a perfect yellow-based shade. I have blonde hair & blue eyes yet manage to have a yellow complexion. I always have trouble finding fair yellow based foundations. Usually I stick with Maybelline in Nude but this is much better.
As for the formulation, I like it. It's the perfect amount of medium coverage and is easy to blend. I like the tube packaging much better than an open mouth bottle or even a pump. My only complaint is it's availability. I can't just run out to the store and my sister lives several states away. continued >>
