This is the real deal in every respect. If you have some lashes to work with and realistic expectations you will be delighted! It really darkens and elongates; it also stays put all day and washes off without too much work. A definite repurchase. For reference, I have the waterproof carbon black.

UPDATE: I took off one lippie because I noticed that after about 8hours of excellent wears it cracks and goes south. Instant racoon eyes by nightfall. I still love it because what it does it does well.

I bought this mascara based on reviews and have used nothing else for the last three years. Like most women my number one criteria for mascara is that it decorate my lashes, not the skin under my eyes and this is the only brand that really stays put for me. I notice that other people are saying it smudges a lot for them, which is interesting since this is the only kind that Doesn't smudge for me. Must be our individual chemistries. I would not say that it adds much volume, but that's ok for me. The non-waterproof version was totally useless, instant crazed racoon.

This mascara works really well on my lashes. It separates and defines my lashes without making them" clumpy". I have tried so many mascaras from cheap to expensive, and I always end back with this one.

I like this mascara but it doesn't give me the volume that i really wanted, but still works for me for everyday use it does not smudge on me but its not very good holding my curl. I like it but i don't love it.

This mascara does absolutely nothing when it comes to give volume! It just doesn't!!! And it smudges like craaaaaaazy!
It's not even ok for everyday use... there are much better ones out there. Do not recommend this one

i used the non waterproof version of this mascara since middle school and it was my ultimate HG. made my lashes look dark, soft, volumized, and long. i haven't had as much luck with the waterproof one. i don't know if it's bc this one is waterproof or they changed the mascara formula since then, but this mascara decurls my lashes, clumps like crazy, is takes too much work to make it look good. the non waterproof smudges too much and the waterproof helps with the smudging but clumps too much for me.

I really liked this, I have long lashes and this mascara made them look full and dark, which I LOVE! My only complaint is that unless I put a notecard over my lids the mascara will get onto my lids until it dries. Other then that, I really love this one!

Okay, so I'll admit that this product made my lashes look much longer and more voluminous...HOWEVER. This stuff smudged so badly that it looked like I'd been crying. And I bought the waterproof kind! Absolutely horrendous...won't be buying this again.

This is a good product, although I probably will not buy it again. I find that it does provide good volume and length without flaking or smudging, but it doesn't hold a curl which is a BIG downside for me. I have short, wispy, invisible Asian lashes, and curl is a big deal for me. But, if you have decent lashes, I most definitely recommend this product; it really is a worthwhile mascara, just not for me.

FINALLY A D/S MASCARA THAT WONT LET YOU DOWN! I have been searching for YEARS for something like this.. Ahh. This mascara actually does what it claims to do, it seperates, builds length and volume. (Not 4x, obviously.. but 4x on the packaging seems a little more realistic that 12x or 1,000x like other mascaras boast about :]) You can build up the intensity by applying several coats without it looking gross. It stays on for a pretty long time, the only thing I will it did was hold a curl better... but, oh well. I love this stuff!
