I like most of the Rimmel colors, however...some of the creams do take a top coat to perform well at all. I think I have most of the colors I like. The 60 second formula seems to dry too fast for long nails sometimes, especially the older the polish is. By the time I stroke to the end of longer nails, the polish is getting dry already and that makes for an uneven surface which I hate. So I try to use the 60 second polish when my nails are recently filed down some. I always use a base coat with any nail polish, otherwise my nails will stain even more than normal from using nail polish. Rimmel, like all the other nail polishes will leave your nails stained. Just one of the draw backs from having beautiful polished nails. Rimmel is a good value and a decent polish if applied with a base and top coat. It last as long as any other polish for me, no matter how much it cost, about 4, maybe 5 days max. After that my nails have grown out past the cuticle line, and I have to re-polish them. If I do not, the polish/top coat line will start to catch on my hair and sometimes my clothing. I really can't stand that. So I say yes to Rimmel. It does just as good a job as any polish.

I have this nail polish in black & love it. It does exactly what it says in the tin, first coat dries in about 60 seconds and usually get away with just one coat for complete coverage, unlike other black polishes I've used which look really 'watery' until you apply a second coat. It does tend to chip after a few days without a top coat but have yet to find a nail polish that doesn't. Also, I find it really easy to apply - I don't have a very steady hand and often find it tricky to apply dark colours without making mistakes but this is great. continued >>

Hmm... It does dry in about 60 seconds, but it's still prone to dents and smudges. It didn't last that long on my nails and chipped quickly, about a day after I applied it. And for the price, it didn't really fulfill my nail polish satisfaction.

I bought 2 of these nail polishes for my sister. A light blue one, and one I thought was red but turned out to be a coral, peach, pink sort of color. My sister liked the blue, but not the pinkish one so I took it. I'm glad because I love it. Probably the only nail polish ever that I would buy again voluntarily. It dries fast with out streaks and it looks so nice on my toes. Definitely would recommend to anyone.
EDIT: If anyone was wondering, the pinkish color is 904 Golden Girl

Rimmel polishes are a bit of a mixed bag. Some are great, some are just awful! After owning several bottles, I've learned that collections like "60 Second Vinyl Stars", and the "Wearmaxx" glitters are great, and ones like "Lasting Finish" are awful.

Not that the colours are bad - it's the application! Gluggy, thick solutions not helped by the brushes, which are sometimes too narrow/bristly to apply the gunk properly. I haven't found any of the Rimmels to have particularly good staying power, so use a good top coat to make it stay put!

So in summary - try to go for the glitters, and stay away from the "Lasting Finish" line (which btw doesn't last!). #B)

I used to have one years back which i think was called 'Movie Star' which was pretty good, but today i am reviewing no 805, which is called 'Sonic'. I'm pretty sure it didn't take 60 seconds to dry and you would need to apply at least two coats as it is quite streaky. The polish in the bottle seems to get gloopy fairly quickly too.

Nonetheless, i do recommend these polishes as they are great value for money, but i'm not sure about 'Sonic'... it changes colour when you move but the yellow tone makes my nails look weird as i am used to blacks and reds.

This is my favorite nail polish ever. Incredible color payoff and durability, and the colors themselves are gorgeous! For me, the key thing that makes these polishes stand out is the brush - it's the perfect width and flex-y-ness so that application is a cinch. It's so easy to put the polish on smoothly and accurately with that brush. For many colors one coat is enough, but I always put on two and then a coat of clear - and it really does dry FAST. My polish easily lasts a week without chipping this way.

Update: I believe the formula has changed somewhat? The new 60 Seconds polishes seem gloopier and more difficult to apply than the old 60 Seconds Vinyl Stars polishes. I've taken my rating down to a 4.

I only tend to either buy Rimmel or Revlon nail polish. Rimmel are fab as they are dirt cheap, good colour range, good durability and dry quickly - what more do you want from a polish!
