MY HG MASCARA. I have pretty full lashes to being with, but this mascara is amazing for adding length and even more volume. However, DO NOT get the waterproof version. I don't know why, but the waterproof is absolute rubbish and flakes and smudges like crazy. The regular version is fine though, lasts all day and doesn't give me raccoon eyes. I am on my third or fourth tube of this mascara and I don't see myself going off of it for a LONG time. BEST!!
The wand is curved, like the shape of your lashes. I was hoping this would help keep my lashes curled while putting it on, but it didn't. Still searching for better mascaras.
One lippie off for the difficulty of applying it, and another for being tested on animals (and that bulky packaging).
Otherwise, I like this mascara. I don't have to curl my eyelashes- in fact, it doesn't apply well if I do. If you can somehow get a good swipe on the first coat, then this is a beautiful look. I normally coat my lashes twice, anything more and this will clump like no other... At first I hated it because I used such a heavy hand, but eventually I got the hang of its application c:
Wear power, though, is lacking. I put on the mascara at six this morning and my lashes are significantly shorter now, at 2:30.
woo hoo! this is my favourite after the collossal.
The brush does a great job at picking up every eyelash and the formula is great at building. my only two gripes is that if you build too much, it turn your lashes clumpy (collossal doesnt do this, i can keep building and building and they wont 'clump' theyll just get crusty) and its staying power isnt as good as the collossal either. I find that after the 9th hour of wear, my mascara has smudged onto the bottom of my eyes, its kind of melted. It doesnt flake though.
builds volume very very well and adds length aswell. the brush is genius and i think thats what makes it superior to many other mascaras.
I like the coloured tube, it is roughly $18-$20 AUD. in america is was $6 and thats why i rated it as dirt cheap because thats where i originally bought it from.
one of the better formulas for mascaras, a must try for everyone.
This product is my life!
This was the first ever mascara I used and immediately fell in love with it. I still use it to this day! I repurchase all the time! I also try lots of other mascaras, however I have never used one that goes on like a dream like this one! This is my apsalutely favorite mascara, I love maybelline products, this is the best!
I have however expirienced a tiny bit of mascara come off underneith my eye a couple of times, only when I rub my eyes, sometimes it happens anyway, Don't let this scare you! It comes off easily too!
The waterproof version is a little harder to get off, but worth it because there is no smuding, no excess etc
Definately will recomend this!
Some background information. Asian eyelashes, sparse. Straight.. and boring.
Came across this at Franklins (Australia) for $7 and could not pass it up, considering that it usually retails for around $20 (Yes, makeup in Australia is ridic!) Purchased it on a whim in the waterproof formula in the colour "BLACK DRAMA".
I was actually looking for a mascara to replace my favourite "MAGNUM VOLUME EXPRESS" which was an Asian limited I believe and therefore was nowhere to be found in Oz. I really liked the brush of the Magnum.
Upon opening the tube... it had Magnum's brush. BAMM! +1 point.
First time trying it, the formula was fresh and still a bit wet. Held the curl okay but hoooooooly smokes, did this mascara lengthen or did it LENGTHEN! This was only with 2 coats. If you're the type that likes to layer on a bajillion layers, REJOICE because with this baby, you can without the worries of clumpiness. Is that a word? Who cares.
This mascara must get better with age.. because on the 5th or so application, the formula had thicken up just a bit and was holding the curl wonderfully. Made my lashes soo long. Never felt crusty and feels like you're not even wearing mascara.
Even had a man ask what I was wearing on my lashes because his wife was looking for a "HG mascara" (love these kind of men, the ones who take interest in the partner's cosmetic endeavours).
Needs a good make up remover to remove all traces - with all WP mascaras, me thinks. Does not smudge on me.
The only con is, if you're expecting this mascara to give a whole lot of volume - sorry ladies and gents, ain't gonna happen.
Better than the Magnum for sure. Highly recommend! Aussie gals, you can buy this from Chemist Warehouse for $8. They usually have promotions, 2 for $15 on a variety of Maybelline mascaras.
EDIT: Wishing I had bought 5 of these; not even kidding...
LOVE THIS. It is the best DS mascara I've ever tried. I pair it with "They're Real" mascara by Benefit and am always asked what false lashes I use. It gives great volume. I highly recommend it.
Not my favorite mascara, but definitely an okay one. It volumizes relatively well. I hate the bendy brush though. It seems like it's hard to get product on the lashes because the brush bends so easily. If I were in a pinch I would use this mascara, but it's not a favorite.
I love this mascara! My eyelashes are pretty long and dark to begin with, but this mascara shapes them nicely and adds a ton of volume and length. I don't like applying more than one coat when I wear mascara, but one coat of this does the job. I feel like it makes you look more like you have naturally amazing eyelashes as opposed to false lashes, but adding more than one coat or layering it over a natural-looking mascara gives you a falsies affect. Will definitely be buying this again.
A good and reliably water proof mascara. Recommended for its price, being very water proof and reasonable consistency (holds a curl and thickens and lengthens). The downside is that it cannot define each lash. Could be a bit clumpy if it gets dried up.
I have tried other brilliant mascaras which have superior consistencies which allowed me to define each lash properly and hold a dramatic curl. BUT they were all water resistant, which meant that they would run and smudge if I sweat (which i do a lot in my hot and humid climate), tear (which you cannot help if your eyes are irritated) or wear it into the night (oily lids syndrome).
Hence, this mascara doesn't give you the best definition or curl but I view it as a give and take situation. It is hard to get a reasonably priced mascara which is totally water proof, defines each lash and curls superbly. For me, the maybelline falsies serves as a good daily mascara
