I too, had high hopes for this product. I've worn the True Match liquid before and liked it well enough as a ds sub in the middle of buying my high end stuff. I decided to branch out and buy this and I really don't like it. First, it's so greasy feeling. Also it just seems to sit on top of my skin no matter how I apply - I tried my MAC 190, Sephora HD airbrush and the included sponge. It always looked cakey and mask like. Not so good. I do like the color, though, it really matches my skin tone. When I first put it on, my skin looks great, but it does NOT wear well through the day. Also, it made me break out like a teenager. *sigh* that's what I get for trying something new, and trying to save a buck. I got it on sale for $4.99, so at least I didn't waste a ton of money trying it. The packaging is OK. I like that the sponge can be kept separate, but the mirror is in a very awkward spot to use.

I have really clear skin that is slightly dry in the winter time. This stuff is a creme with a slightly powdery finish. I don't like the coverage of the stuff personally. It seems that no matter how little of the product I put on my face it looks like I have a layer of foundation on. It just doesn't sit right on my face. I think I will stick to my revlon colorstay.

I love creme foundations & have tried a lot of them. This one isn't high on my list however, and I was hoping it would be in order to replace the Lancome one I currently use (despite being made by the same company, they are nothing alike). I tried the W-1-2 shade which was an ok match, maybe a bit light for me but was yellow enough which was nice (I'm @NC20 this time of year but Warm 3 looked too dark). What really irked me is this provided no coverage unless I used at least two, and more like three, layers. It's not my application, it just seems to be that sheer. I have "translucent" powders that provide more coverage than this does! I also found it a bit hard to blend despite the "super blendability" it touts because it seems very 'dry' in texture for a creme and that's exactly what it looked like. I guess I expected more from a creme since I have normal-to-dry skin, need some emolliency and coverage to even out some redness which is why I use cremes in the first place, but this didn't do either of those. After paying nearly $13 + tax I think I will be returning this to CVS and stick with my Lancome Photogenic creme which does everything I want it to, price notwithstanding. continued >>

This is fantastic, but it's too light for most people in the light shades. Speaking as a natural redhead with Eastern European ancestors and very little natural pigmentation, except a very light yellow undertone, even I had to go up one level--otherwise, this is ghost white.

This does NOT break me out. Virtually everything else I put on my forty-something, still relatively unlined, very Retin-A'd, allergic face either makes my face red, makes my eyes itch or is too oily and breaks me out.

Nope. Clear skin is all I have with this. It's incredible.

This has no cyclopentasiloxane--it seems to be what's breaking me out--see keah's review below

Oooh this is my favorite foundation ever! However I don't think this foundation is for everyone. If you have skin like me, I think you will really like this. I have somewhat dry skin that is even drier in the winter. I initially applied this with a foundation brush. I'd apply a few brush strokes and then blend with my fingers. This method worked very well. I've been lazy lately and just using the sponge applicator that came with the product. I actually like this technique more! It's very easy to apply a sheer layer of product, and then I use the other side of the sponge to blend. This is easy to wash off and provides a nice buildable coverage. It's lightweight and so far hasn't caused any dryness or flakiness for me. I've been using it for a few weeks without problems.

As far as drugstore foundations go, this is one of the better ones available. Shade selection is a strong advantage of L'oreal's true match collection, and I had no trouble finding a shade by myself. The packaging of this product is nice, no frills. I did not use the cheap sponge it came with, and used a Laura Mercier foundation sponge, which is a lot thicker and provides a better finish. This product looks best when you pick up the product with a sponge, dab off excess on your hands, then just lightly "stamp" the sponge all over your skin. I recommend using a primer first to get a better finish. Flaky skin people should notice that this product will accentuate the flakes and dryness. Overall, good product if you're looking for a basic foundation but don't want to spend a fortune. For people looking for that ultra amazing ooh-la-la finish, head over to department stores.

This product is like a cream foundation. The coverage can be light to heavy just depending on how much you layer it. This collection is amazing because there is a shade in this foundation for everyone. My color matches my complexion perfectly! I'm very satisfied with this product and it blends wonderfully. I would reccomend applying this with a brush though, the pad they give you is okay and works so-so if you are in a rush and have to use what you have but a brush is best. I also own the L'Oreal True Match concealer, and that works very well too. I am planning on buying this collection's liquid foundation as well because I'm soo impressed with how the concealer and this works. My color is 'Soft Sable' and my concealer is 'Neutral - Medium/Deep N6-7-8'. I am Indian/Italian and I am not olive but I am not ebony. Lots of people say I have a golden brown complexion. This product is definitely worth it! ^_^ I hope that this review helped!

I am in *love* with this product!!! I have found that your application technique with this product is EVERYTHING.

Here is my method: I start with a moisturizing primer (I use Korres or Stila). Then, I take one of those little cheap triangular sponges and get it wet (you could also use Fix +) so all the little "pores" of the sponge open up. Next, I squeeze out most of the water. I then apply the product and blend, blend, blend- less is more with the application. Too much will look cakey. Lastly, I set the foundation with Maybelline's Mineral Power Translucent Finishing Veil (their answer to BE Mineral Veil).

The results are amazing! This method gives me that airbrushed finish, which I love. It has that great finish- not too matte where it looks dry, and not oily. I found that if you just use it on the skin right out of the packaging it can look cakey and somewhat dry once it settles. Also, even though I am an NC20 I use this in W2 and it is a perfect match. The cool foundations I found were WAYYY too pink looking to me. Overall, this is an awesome foundation and I definitely plan on purchasing again. A plus- it has an SPF of 17 and is oil free. Give it a try!

Well, I'd have to say that I do like this product. I usually wear foundation but wanted something a little more convenient. I absolutely DO NOT like the sponge that comes with it. When I used it, it seemed like it only allowed the makeup to mask the skin, even if blotting. I changed the sponge to a better quality one and it made all the difference. I bet the stippler brush will also work really well since it makes practically any makeup look flawless BUT my whole point was to carry a convenient compact. I have fair/meduim skin with yellow undertones so i purchased the W4 shade. At first i thought it would be a bit too dark but it blends pretty well. My neck and shoulders are a tad darker than my face so I try to match. It has good enough coverage for my needs. One thing though, I tend to forget the mirror is not on the top cover but in the middle flap so I sometimes subconciously try looking at myself on the cover. Just me. I would have preferred the mirror on top and just a plain divider for sanitary purposes. That's kind of annoying. Overall good product.

This product is just bad. Its not good at all. It goes on smoothly, which is a plus, but I dont know what skin type this would be good for! Somehow it made my skin look dry, while at the same time making me look oily???? What is up with that? I even put a thick moisturizer on too.The finish is not that great either. And I have applied this numerous ways, and none of them look good. I will not buy this product again. It was a waste of money. Im just glad I bought this with a coupon, at least I didnt spend $11.
P.S: I bought this a while ago, and didnt like it, and I figured Id try it again since I never threw it out.
