I absolutely adore this mascara. I have very short lashes that are extremely thick, and it works so well for me.. Does what it says. Gives a beautifully curved look and thickens them without ANY clump. Also has the cutest packaging. Pretty shiny colors and a cute little crown on top! I've only tried the purple bottle which is in black.. The purple packaged mascara is not waterproof either. What I do to get an extreme curve is curl my lashes with a Lacross eyelash curler, only twice, then apply just two coats of the sexy curves and its like BAM in your face totally sexy lashes. It also seperates my lashes well, too. The only thing I dislike about this product is that the formula is really wet, which may bother some people. But I'm cool with it. I love this product so much! Very big Rimmel fan anyway. I recommend this!
First, packaging. Maybe it's just because I love shiny things, but this instantly caught my eye. It was a bit childish, but I like the shape of the bottle, nice to hold, and the brush handle is nice, too. The formula was nice, it slid on without clumps, and the brush beautifully reached every lash I wanted it to, which is amazing, since I've got a lot of lashes already. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because sometimes it made three or four lashes stick together, which got frustrating, but it added insane length when it didn't do that. I do theatre, so I'm always looking for gaudy, huge makeup, but this worked for the stage as well as dates, classes, and hanging out, because of the different lengths I could do.
i've finally found an HG mascara after years of searching. this stuff is amazing. gives my lashes perfect curl and volume and length and holds allll day! without flakes or any problems. on my 5th or 6th tube by now and will continue purchasing.
i really liked this mascara, when using this i would get what my bf called "fairy lashes". very cute, i think the best thing about this mascara has to be the volume it gives. its one of the cheaper mascaras ive had, i paid about $NZ17 when i usually spend about $NZ25 (makeup in New zealand is ridiculously expensive) and the packaging was pretty cute. The big downfall for this mascara though, and why it loses a star from me is that if you use it too close to the lashline the brush scratches you, which makes you eye itch and go all red and teary :/
I have been using Rimmel mascara for about 3 years and honestly I wouldnt buy anything else reason being is that I have tried a variety of mascaras and they dont ever give me the desired look I want or are too expensive and arent worth the money. I love this mascara because it seperates my lashes and makes them nice and long. The brush is what I love the most since its not the typical bristles on the mascaras that are out on the market. The only downside to this mascara is it flakes a little bit after 6+ hours of using it. Other than that its a great buy!
I'm confused about this Rimmel "Sexy Curves - Full Volume & Curve Mascara". Why you ask? Because it neither curved, boosted my curl, nor created ANY volume whatsoever as it's implicated to do. However, it did make my lashes look extremely long, which is funny since that's one effect it doesn't advertise it doing. Yeah wat.
I'm not sure if it's the stiff brush or the formula or both but somehow this stuff seems to deteriorate in a few hours because by midday it seemed to have all but vanished. No raccoon eyes or smudge-off.. It's like it becomes overly dry and just kinda....crumbles without me touching it or anything. Not cool. I applied it around 8am and by NOON when I glanced in the mirror I realized it basically had flaked off, while leaving my poor lashes looking brittle and dull with a stunted, tired effect. So not cute, Rimmel.
I do like the inky black color it provides (doesn't turn that slate color that alot of blacks tend to do) and I do like the extreme length it gave me in the beginning. These are the only reasons why I didn't rate this stuff as the worst, that, and frankly, I've dealt with worse mascara's than this in the past - Wet N' Wild nightmares *shiverrrr*).
Basically, I might buy again if they could:
1) Work on making this mascara deliver actual "sexy curving" and volume (the name is just bad sarcastic, apparently)
2) Get it to stay-put and at last through a regular work-day start to finish without making my lashes dry and stumpy looking.
3) Make the wand a less spindly and stick-like.
4) Still make my lashes look really long and remain affordable.
Yeah, if only.
And 'If only' is why I'm buying something better tomorrow
Didn't like the wand or the formula on my eyes. Its a very wet mascara and the wand is very stiff- it doesn't work with lashes very well.
I bought this product because it was on sale at my local CVS. I'd heard a lot of good reviews about it and one of my favorite beauty guru's on Youtube loved it so I would try it.
When I first used it I didn't really like it. (I have naturally long lashes but i still like a good lengthening and volumizing Mascara.) It kindve flaked so I didn't use it for a few weeks. Then it dried out a little I guess and now it works amazing, it is one of my daily mascaras next to Lash Blast. The Color is a very good black, it makes my lashes look almost fake because there so long and my friends are jealous! I love it! I take this with me when I travel, because its that good, The one bad side about it is the packaging, I bet a lot of the product gets stuck at the top bit I wouldn't know it is to dark to see haha. But over all I love this product and HIGHLY recommend it!
I must be missing something here. I don't understand all the great reviews. This mascara hardly shows up on my lashes and when it does, it just clumps them like crazy and makes them look very spidery. Maybe I was sold an expired bottle or something? I don't know, but for whatever reason, this was horrible. The packaging is an awful metallic purple... but the brush looked so promising, Not purchasing again.
I really wanted to love this product after watching a bunch of youtube rave reviews, however, I was sorely disappointed when I actually tried it. I love the wand on this mascara, I find it very effective in reaching for all my lashes, reminds me of the NYX Doll Eye Mascara, which I REALLY like. The formula is the crappy part. This mascara is much too wet to hold or create any kind of curl like it advertises. I even let it marinate in its tube for a month before trying it again, hoping that the formula would thicken up a bit. No luck, the consistency remained thin and useless to curl my stubborn asian lashes, even after using an eyelash curler. The good thing about this mascara is that the wet formula prevents any clumps. I can pile on 3 or 4 coats of this and it will still be clump free. However, after the 3-4 coats, my lashes are still rather lackluster. It provides minimal length and a little bit of volume. Overall not a bad mascara, but not a good one either. Girls with a natural curl to their lashes will probably benefit the most from this mascara, it looks great on Sam from pixiwoo on youtube!
