Gave me lots of volume and length, and barely any clumps

Like many people on here, I've tried a LOT of mascaras to find one that ticks all the boxes. And, like many, most have fallen short. The Colossal, however, seems to a pretty good job.

Firstly, this stuff makes my lashes looooong!! The brush separates my lashes nicely, so they're still thick but not clumped up. It gives great volume that lasts all day, honestly. It doesn't take too much work to get the final desired effect I want - compared to many where I have to put x amount of coats on, or clean up residue from my eyes.

The formula is a really good dark black colour, nice and bold. Another great thing is that it doesn't smudge at all - very noticeable as I always seem to get panda eyes with most other mascaras. I can even work out wearing this stuff and it stays put.

The brush isn't very tapered, so it's quite tricky to get the smaller lashes. The formula does smell a bit. But they aren't big issues, compared to how rubbish other mascaras have been for me!

Overall, it's worth it for the price. L'Oreal Voluminous False Fibre Lashes is my HG mascara, but this definitely comes in second place (first for price and packaging!)

I vacillate between this and CG Lash Blast (the original in the orange tube) for when I want a cheap, reliable volumizing mascara. I've probably bought about 4 tubes of this and maybe 8 tubes of Lash Blast over the last couple years. Both are good. Colossal has a big brush as is the rage, but I find it easier to work with than most. It provides dark, standout lashes with a surprising amount of length. In terms of building bulk (i.e. volume), Lash Blast wins by a tad, but Colossal has it beat on length--making it a good "all-around" mascara if you're looking for a more streamlined makeup bag or when you're traveling and don't want to haul around a bunch of mascaras, haha. The main drawback can be a pretty big one: it flakes. Like, bad sometimes. Many afternoons I will be picking little black fibers off the tops of my cheekbones. Using a fresh tube and keeping it to 2 coats max seems to help. It also smears a bit under the eyes when applied to lower lashes, and Lash Blash NEVER does that on me. Therefore, this mascara is not quite destined for HG status....but I still like having one of these cute yellow tubes on hand.

My loving mom bought this for me, and I think it's quite good. I use it after lash stiletto, and it makes my lashes thicker :) But I don't think I'll buy it again.

This is my HG mascara. LOVE it! I have wispy lashes and this makes them stand out like nothing else I've tried. I hope they never discontinue this one.

This barely did anything to my lashes, the sole reason for buying it was because I wanted volume and this gave hardly any.

Also I don't know if I bought this mascara and it was 'off' in some way, but it literally smells of hair dye. It smells so disgusting I want to gag and it doesn't go away either I still get whiffs f this throughout the day...

An absolute favorite! I adore this mascara & I have been using it for over a year now, I assume. I have short light eyelashes but this mascara darkens, thickens, & lenghthen them! Its been the only mascara to acheive that for me, aside from the Lancome Hypnose one. The Lancome Hypnose is a tad bit pricey so the Colossal is a safe & easy choice. Best mascara i've ever used, it's not clumpy but with a single brush on the eye lashes it lengnth and darkens it, i love it
