I've gotten this many times and have to admit I really don't so much smell 'porridge' but oats on the outset...then it mellows into a more brown melted sugar scent. I'm not complaining here...just not exactly what I was expecting any of the times I bought this soap. I mainly use it as an item to exfoliate.
So far, this is my favourite Lush soap! It has it all..It lathers very well, it's creamy, it smells delicious, it's moisturising and you can use this as a gentle scrub too! Lush soaps last a LONG time, almost too long because I wanna buy new ones ASAP lol! Love the porridge soap!!
Holy Cow I LOVE this soap!!!!! I don't even know how to discribe the scent. I usually like clean, slightly fruitly/citrus scents, but this one is richer and warmer. It has these little seeds all throughout it which I like because it's a light exfoliatation on my skin and yes they fall all over the place, but they're not hard to just rinse down the drain. I will totally repurchase this again!!!! LOVE, LOVE, LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!
I used to love this soap back when the oats where just on top, not throughout the whole bar. It is still a great soap and smells awesome, bit its just a little too on the scratchy side now.
I bought this coz of all the hype on youtube.. hm its hard 2 describe the scent, warm porridge, oat cookies with abit of orange added, 1st time i smelt it i wasnt too keen but its grown on me, my mum sed it smells realy nice an shes fussy lol. i dont get the bar wet, i wet my body then rub all over my skin in circles, it makes a nice creamy lather that feels silky, this soap is really good to use before using my xen fake tan, it cleans very well, while exfoliating nicely, without leaving a film or being drying!
I really like the scent of this soap. It smells a bit like caramel - it has a sweet scent that I enjoy. I don't feel the oatmeal exfoliates my skin all that well so I use it as a hand soap. I don't feel this is a spectacular soap but I like the fragrance enough that I will repuchase.
I got a sample of this soap, used it once and threw it out. The soap itself smells really good, and so does the creamy lather. Initially after washing my hands they smelled like Porridge. But then the smell developed into a gross, sour spit smell and I had to wash my hands again with a different soap after that. Maybe I got a bad batch? I don't know what happened because everyone raves about this product. I'm not sure if I want to give it another try. If I am offered a sample I will take it, but I wouldn't buy a bar of this soap till I got a good sample.
When I first bought this, I really could not stand the smell. There was something about it that smell to much like butter for me, but after a while I started to like it. It does moisturize and exfoliate well. My only real complaint with this one is that it doesn't last very long. Leaving this where a stream of water can in any way come into contact with it is death. This may also be a bit rough for some people, but personally, my skin is a very far cry from sensitive, so that's never been an issue.
This soap smells amazing! Smells of cinnamon and nutty. Very moisturizing, the oats can be a bit rough, but I like how it seems to exfoliate and massage the skin while you use it.
Smells so delicious and warm. Lathers wonderfully, and the grainy texture feels amazing and substantial in a way I cannot explain. I don't use it in the bath, I keep it in the front bathroom because it looks so earthy and beautiful sitting in the soap tray! And I keep making excuses to go wash my hands in there now, haha.
