I cannot believe all the negative reviews on this. It just goes to show you that everyone prefers things a little differently. I love this mascara. Is it my HG? No. But I do love it. I find it makes my lashes really long and hardly ever clumps. Love that!
The wand is pretty big and a lil bit slanted which for me, it makes it awkward to use. I got it in brown black. I will not buy it again b/c I was not very impressed by it. Average volume and length. It looks boring when you buy it. I never got the "healthy part of it".
I was not impressed by this mascara at all. It really weighed my lashes down & did not hold a curl. I will not be buying this product again. continued >>

After being disappointed by Revlon's Double Twist mascara, I returned to Walgreens to give back the messy tube of Revlon crap and with my refund was able to get two tubes of Neutrogena Healthy Volume in carbon black BOGO. The brush is wonderful, large and fluffy. The carbon black mascara, oh do not get me started...love it! The application was easy, leaving a naturally pretty look. The removal was flawless and simple. I experienced no smudges or flaking at all. I will definitely consider this the HG mascara for me.
Pros:
-No clumping or flaking. Which is nice, because then I don't have to fish out black flakes from my eyeballs all day.
-Washes off easily without taking my eye lashes with it.
-Doesn't smear terribly, even though it's not waterproof.
-Makes my eyelashes look reeeeally dark!
Cons:
-Doesn't hold a curl. At all. I use an eyelash curler, but the darn mascara just makes my lashes straight again.
If this wonderful mascara would let my eyelashes curl, I would give it a 5. Other than that, this has got to be my favorite mascara!

I really like this mascara - it doens't make miracles (like holding a curl on my long lashes - I've never found a mascara that will), but it does everything I need it to do, and does it well. I need volume, which it provides. The large brush and dense bristles (no evil plastic spikes) make fast and easy work of application - two coats and done. No clumping or spider lashes. Leaves my lashes feeling soft and flexible. No problems with smudging. Washes off easily.
It does tend to get a little dry in the tube after a while (a couple of months), but I don't have a problem with that - mascara should be replaced every 3 months or so, anyway.

CURRENTLY MY FAVORITE MASCARA. i love this stuff! i have some what thick lashes already and some length but this just makes it so pretty. thats what it is: pretty. i wiggle the wand at the base of my lashes and pull through. i repeat this process i think 4 times? even for the lower lashes. i love the wand and its not hard to maneuver at all. it gives great volume and deliver what it claims it will. reminds me of clinique almost. but this is MY mascara.
I was pleasantly suprised by this product. I have been on the hunt for a new mascara for the lash several weeks. I started with the drugstore ones in the hopes of savng money since I normally shell out $20+ for Prescriptives or Chanel.. I tried Lash Blast, Bare Naturale, Maybelline Turbo Boost and L'Oreal Voluminous - all of which were equally dry, prickly and all around B-A-D!.
So off I went to Sephora, and after trying on nearly every mascara in the store (well, at least the few I hadn't tried over the last 10 years) and narrowed it down to YSL Faux Cils Effect and Dior Show Blackout. I bought both since you can't try the actual brushes they come with in the store (they're all germy), and the sample brushes are just so-so. I liked both of them, and stopped at the drugstore on my way home to get hair stuff and thought I'd try just *one* more cheapie mascara.
PROS: Beautiful super-dark black color thatmakes the whites of my eyes look whiter. Seperates well. Gives a bit of a curl. Decent length.Great price. Very little clumping. When I put 3 or 4 coats of this on one eye and 2 coats of Diorshow Black Out on the other eye for comparison, it was almost impossible to tell the difference between the two (though Diorshow was smoother/easier to apply).
CONS: Formula is on the dry side (which I'm starting to realize is common amoungst "volumizing" mascaras). It took several coats to acheive the volume my puny lashes need. Bigger brush made application a tad messy.
This is a great everyday mascara. No bells and whistles, no spiky rubber brush - just a good, basic easy-to-use product. Definitely one of the best mascaras I've come across at this price point. Oh, and I bought it in Carbon Black (which IS really, really black).
