Well the good thing is it didnt break me out... but I dnt know if it actually did anything for me... felt good, smelled nice n all... i went thru the jar but no super skin improvement... its got all kinds of really good stuff, but pricey... may buy it again but dnt know if I should if its not gonna do anything for me
Before trying this I was using the Proactive 3 step which kept my skin clear but seemed harsh on my skin because it was also dull looking. I've tried PTR since June 2009 and LOVE it. My skin looked so great that I got cocky and stopped using PTR when I ran out a few months ago. Big mistake! In that three weeks when I did not use PTR, I got five big pimples. It was just a reminder that I don't have genetically good skin. Now I'm back on the PTR and even have a back up supply so that I don't ever make that mistake again.
I got my husband to use this too and I have noticed his skin looks "glowy". He's always had good, clear skin but the PTR improved it even more.
I cut the pads in half and use it everyday and follow up with Acne.org benzoyl peroxide.
I simply love this stuff. It does everything! Shrinks pores, helps with discoloration, wrinkles, uneven texture, acne etc. etc. I originally fell in love with the MD skincare Alpha Beta pads, but they're so expensive! I looked at these PTR pads and the ingredients were very similar, and the price is much cheaper, so I decided to give PTR a try. I'm glad I did, these work great at a much lower price, though I will admit that the MD skincare seems to work a little faster. These are definitely my HG product. I get a lot of compliments on my skin, and rather than going through the list of the many different products I use, I tell people that this is my secret skin weapon. I recommend it to all of my friends! But, if you do have the extra money to spend, give the MD skincare a try too!
My pores have shrunk, fine lines are finer and my skin tone is more even!! YAY!! I have very dry/sensitive skin and was scared this would irritate my skin but it hasn't at all. I use it towards the end of the shower and leave it on for a couple minutes. It think this makes the ingredients less harsh since its diluted with water.
Love this stuff and actually combine it with Ole Henriksen products.
I read these reviews and HAD to have this stuff. Twice now, I've come back to put in my own review, again saw all the love, and went back and tried them one more time. They pretty much have the exact same effect as Retinol products have on me - I look old, haggard, worn down, wrinkly, dry, and generally horrible. No amount of oils or moisturizer in the world fixes what this does to my face. Bummer - I was pretty sure I'd be SO fabulous if I used these . . .
SOMETHING has faded my sun damage spots on my face, and the only thing I've been using that would do that would be THESE PADS. I only use them once a week (when I remember to/have time to) but it has occured to me that they really have lightened up significantly! I'm on my second jar of these little gems. I also use the Mega Rich Cellular creme and the masque. I really, REALLY love the PTR stuff I've tried. I do leave the acid on my face longer than it says to- maybe 15-20 minutes- without problems. No dryness, and my esthetician said I have flawless skin/pores. Thanks PTR! You 'da MAN. *UPDATE* Wow, ok it's been a year since i've done my original review, and i can honestly say that these wonderful little pads have significantly diminished my sun damage spots on my face! They are still there (because I know they are) but they are no longer as noticeable and blaringly obvious as before i started using these... I am SO happy!! I haven't used anything else that might have given me these results....
I find this to be a nice but not ground breaking treatment. I feel it is not as strong as MD Skincare Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel. I can use it more often than the MD Skincare product. The PTR product is much cheaper than the MD Skincare Alpha Beta Peel. I do like the NatraBisse GlycoLine Glyco Extreme Peel, too, but I only use my cherished samples of it. I haven't been brave enough to spend $200+ on a full bottle of the NatraBisse product. Compared to NatraBisse, PTR's peel is dirt cheap.
Unfortunately, I can't really say that I have noticed dramatic changes in my skin because of this product. Definitely the very very best thing that I use on my skin is Ziana, a prescription product from my dermatologist. It does indeed run $200 a tube, each tube lasting 4-6 months. This is like a facial every night. It has done for my skin much of what the claims are for this PTR peel. I will never go without my Ziana.
I am almost finished with a 60 pad PTR Peel jar. I do not think I will replace it when it is gone.
The label does not state the concentration of the acids, although this is mainly glycolic & lactic. I am an acid-junkie, 55% lactic & 35% glycolic for my melasma, the tolerance was build up little over a year ago, so this product did not sting. At the same time, it did gave me a brighter skin, but for Cad$50, I will stick with my MUAC acids instead.
Oooo, I really like these pads! I'm so glad I stumbled upon the review for these here. I haven't used them long, but I love how soft & smooth my face feels after! I use a half a pad & leave the peel on for 3 minutes per the instructions. I haven't experienced any irritation or dryness. I can only hope it keeps my pores clear like everyone says. I have faith, since I already like them. Even after using my Pretika Sonic these still get dirt off my face! (from my pores, I hope!)
I'll update after I've used them longer. For now, I'd say give them a try. Your face will feel wonderful!
