This is part of my skin care regimen... I will never be without them.
that said, the packaging is cumbersome and be careful not to drop the jar or to not close it well as the pads will start to dry up:(
love the product, hate the packaging!
HG skin product for me, thanks to the reviews I read here. After reading them, I took the plunge and spent the $$ on these, taking the advice to cut the pads in half. Thiss way they are much more affordable. Within days of using I started to notice serious results-clearer, nicely exfoliated, glowy skin that looks rested and rejuvenated. Within a few weeks, my skin was much more even-toned. Any freckles or brownish areas are fading, and I'm finding that I don't even need foundation anymore. Even without foundation, the complliments on my skin keep coming! On top of this, my pores seem to be smaller and breakouts heal much faster, with the remaining red mark fading within days instad of weeks! Terrific!
This is the 3rd/4th time I've given these a go. I have sensitive skin, which I ignored the first times I tried these. I jumped right in like some of the posters here & left this on all night, and my skin was a mess. This time, I actually followed the directions, & my results have been much better.
So, sensitive skin girls: Start out using 1 pad every 3rd day, at night. Leave on 5 minutes MAX, then rinse with cool water & follow w/a moisturizer. It took me 2-3 weeks of this before my skin could tolerate every other night, which I did for 1 week before I was ready for 5 minutes every night.
At first my skin was pretty red (not Obagi red, but red like too much sun) & breaking out more, but after 2-3 weeks of every 3rd day, I started to get the improved tone/texture that the ladies here described. Also, it's my 4th or 5th week of these, and my skin is much less broken out than it's been in the past. My hormonal acne isn't nearly as bad as it usually is, and my skin was even clear enough a few days this month for me to feel semi-comfortable going w/out foundation.
All that said, I don't think I'll buy these again because 1) they're expensive and 2) my skin is still far from perfect, & I'm still searching for something that will reduce my acne & redness enough to let me go w/out foundation. While this has been pretty helpful w/acne, it doesn't do anything for redness and probably actually increases it.
I think this product is great - I have sensitive dry skin that is actually quite congested in my T-zone area. This product has minimized further breakouts and is helping to undo some of my sun damage. Even when I do have a few spots on my face people remark that I have a really nice glow to my skin.
I do not doubt these pads do wonders for so many women.
Each time I have used a pad, my skin becomes far too sensitive for a few days. Even a stray hair crossing my face makes me itch and the sensation last for a couple of days. Everytime my skin calmed down, I tried them again. Same reaction.
Now, I do not have any trouble on my forehead. I could probably put gasoline up there. So, I will continue to use what is left on my forehead.
My skin is already very soft due to my other products and tools so that is not what I was looking for in this product. I wanted to use it as an anit-aging product. Sounds like it works wonders for many women.
I guess I would just say that is your skin is uncomfortable, itching, or if you get some bumps from this product, give it up.
I do have fruit acid peels at the spa and my face does quite well with these for some reason. Think I will buy a few peels from them and see what happens.
Giving this 3 stars even though I cannot use it myself. I can see how it could be great for others.
Update: I forgot to mention that I have pigmented skin in some areas and after using this they stood out like a sore thumb. Research has shown that this happens quite a bit. I tried it again, just to see, and it sure does. My other products seem to fade this quite a bit and others do not even notice the little sunspots. Luckily, there are other anti-aging products that work as well.
I love this product. I have been a die hard fan of MD skincare, but sometimes I am overwhelmed with the steps and after a while, I didn't see a difference. I started noticing some lines on my forehead earlier this week, and after seeing some of the reviews of this product, I pulled it out of the back of my arsenal and decided to give it a try. I originally received the product from a client of mine who raved about it, and here I am raving about it now. It completely froze the lines in my forehead and I am soo happy with the luminous shine. LOVE LOVE LOVE this. I will probably use this for six weeks and then switch to something else. It's always good to switch up your skincare routine every so often.... will update
Well the good thing is it didnt break me out... but I dnt know if it actually did anything for me... felt good, smelled nice n all... i went thru the jar but no super skin improvement... its got all kinds of really good stuff, but pricey... may buy it again but dnt know if I should if its not gonna do anything for me
Before trying this I was using the Proactive 3 step which kept my skin clear but seemed harsh on my skin because it was also dull looking. I've tried PTR since June 2009 and LOVE it. My skin looked so great that I got cocky and stopped using PTR when I ran out a few months ago. Big mistake! In that three weeks when I did not use PTR, I got five big pimples. It was just a reminder that I don't have genetically good skin. Now I'm back on the PTR and even have a back up supply so that I don't ever make that mistake again.
I got my husband to use this too and I have noticed his skin looks "glowy". He's always had good, clear skin but the PTR improved it even more.
I cut the pads in half and use it everyday and follow up with Acne.org benzoyl peroxide.
I simply love this stuff. It does everything! Shrinks pores, helps with discoloration, wrinkles, uneven texture, acne etc. etc. I originally fell in love with the MD skincare Alpha Beta pads, but they're so expensive! I looked at these PTR pads and the ingredients were very similar, and the price is much cheaper, so I decided to give PTR a try. I'm glad I did, these work great at a much lower price, though I will admit that the MD skincare seems to work a little faster. These are definitely my HG product. I get a lot of compliments on my skin, and rather than going through the list of the many different products I use, I tell people that this is my secret skin weapon. I recommend it to all of my friends! But, if you do have the extra money to spend, give the MD skincare a try too!
My pores have shrunk, fine lines are finer and my skin tone is more even!! YAY!! I have very dry/sensitive skin and was scared this would irritate my skin but it hasn't at all. I use it towards the end of the shower and leave it on for a couple minutes. It think this makes the ingredients less harsh since its diluted with water.
