I was pleasantly suprised with this cleansing oil as I am not generally a fan of MAC, especially with their skincare and face products. This cleanser was really gentle on my skin and removed all traces of makeup including foundation, mascara, gel liner and bronzer. My skin was left soft and not feeling stripped of moisture. It is quite pricy though considering how quickly I got through my bottle. I also found that the bottle leaked a lot despite having a lock function.
This is my first cleansing oil. I bought it 2 months ago and have been using it every day.
What I like most about this product is that it takes every bit of eye make-up off!!! Taking eye make-up off has always been one of my main issues. With other products I tried before, it was always so hard to take eye make-up off that my eyes would get very sensitive due to all the rubbing (not to mention that all that tugging and pulling is bad and very aging for the delicate area) and I hated it. But this takes every bit off eye make-up very easily and quickly including gel eye liners which was my main problem. This product is simply phenomenal at removing eye make-up.
I like to use another cleanser after using this: Cleanse Off Oil to take my make-up off and the other one to actually cleanse my skin. But sometimes I feel lazy or tired and just use this one and haven't had any problems like breakouts, etc. when I do so. Still, I prefer to follow it with a cleanser as I like to feel squeaky clean.
The price is a bit high. But little goes a long way. For everyday make-up I use 2 pumps for the whole face. When I do something more elaborate, I use 3-4. Although I used it every single day since I bought it, 85-90 % of the bottle still remains. So, it is kinda good value for the money.
My 1st Cleansing oil. I like it, but i do not LOVE it. It doesn't completely take off all of my foundation. but does take my eye make up away! Im not sure if i would repurchase because Olive oil does a better job at removing my foundation!
Great at cleaning off all makeup, although I don't use it to remove eye makeup I just use Olive oil for that. But yeah it gets the job done and I havent experienced any breakouts
I have rebought this several times over. I've use this to remove my make-up and follow up with a cleanser to avoid any residue. The combination leaves my skin super clean but not dry.
Removes longwearing and waterproof makeup with ease
Can back2mac for new lipsticks
The fragrant oils of lavendar and bitter orange are potential irritants. I never noticed any irritation in my skin when using it, but I am concerned with the damage it may do to my skin in the long run.
I'd definately repurchase if they ever reformulate it without the fragrant oils, but for now I'm giving this one a rest. I've been using the Neutrogena Hydrating eye makeup remover as a makeup remover for all of my face makeup including eyes and so far it's getting the job done. If I witness an increase in pore clogs, I'll return to this one. EDIT: Yep, I'm going back to this one, as nothing removes mu as well.
I really regret putting this stuff on my face!! I read such glowing reviews for this product, I thought it would work great for me too, boy was I wrong! I used it twice. The first night my skin felt clean but parched, no big deal, just put on more moisturizer. Second night using it, my skin felt like it was burning and I woke up with about 25-30 ugly pustules on my chin and my skin still feels like it's on fire. I'm so depressed now, this reaction is going to take some time to get better but I'm left with ugly breakouts, redness, and burning still after 3 days. I'm not sure what I've reacted to in this product, could be the lavender oil, but needless to say, I won't be using this product again and really regret putting it on my face :(
HG cleanser! I'm on my 3rd bottle. It's kinda pricey, but it's worth it. I like that it removes all the makeup very well, including gel eye liners, without irritating my eyes. It doesn't leave oily residue like regular oils (jojoba, olive oil, baby oil), rather it changes into a milky consistency and rinses away clean. So I can rub it in my eye all I won't and as soon as I splash water on it, it rinses off. I use 1.5-2 pumps, depending on how much I makeup I have on. I do follow with Cetaphil cleanser w/ muslin cloth since I have oily skin. If my skin feels dry then I can skip Cetaphil and just steam my face with hot muslin cloth.
ABSOLUTLEY LOVE IT. Im a huge fan of mac and omg this is my new bundle of joy. It is truly magically to use. feels like heaven in a bottle. hehe. Really nice texture to it...removes everything from face. defo recommend
I bought the Cleanse Off Oil based on the reviews of MUA. I used one bottle and thought that it was a decent cleanser. Regarding the price tag I found I could do without it and go back to my OCM with olive, baby or sesame oil. After one week of using olive oil as a cleanser (I always use Dove soap and the Kanebo cleansing sponge afterwards to get rid off the residues) I saw one or two little pimples appear and saw the amount on blackheads slightly increasing, (even though I wiped off the oil thoroughly.) Nothing serious, but to my own surprise my skin DEFINITLY looked better with MACs cleanser. So yesterday I bought another bottle of it, although I must say the price did hurt a little bit. At least one bottle lasts me around half a year because it is very concentrated, so I can justify to pay so much for something that has such a huge impact on my skin (I would rather spend it on lipstick or foundation, blush or highlighter, but cleaning your skin is so crucial for a good look.)
This is so far my HG cleanser! I'm on my second bottle now and I will be using this as long as my skin feels comfortable with it. This removes makeup extremely well, better than anything I've tried before! I use this every evening and I have not had any break outs with this. I wish this'd be less expensive though..I use three pumps each time I remove my makeup and I feel like I go through the bottle quite fast. Well more B2M at least :D
