An ok product. I've only used it with Mary Kay eye shadows. It helps more of the color of the MK eye shadows to show up on the eye lid, but my shadow still gathers in my crease at the end of the day....ick.
I so love this product. I started using it and never tried another eye primer once I realized how awesome this product is. Before this product I used clinique, and paula dorf. The great thing about this product is its staying power...up to 12 hours and no creasing!!! Also, it looks natural when on so it doesn't alter the color of your eye shadow. I seriously don't think I could wear eye shadow without this product. I tell everyone about this.
This primer works wonderfully and really helps my eye makeup last on my vert oily eyelids. I am sure to dust a little powder over it before applying my makeup. Love it and it lasts forever!
I wasn't impressed. I've used much better eye primers. I have fairly oily skin, so I really need a good primer...and this certainly isn't it. I only noticed a slight difference.
Yesterday, no primer. Creases by 3 PM.
Today, MK Eye Primer. No creases by 3 PM. Eye makeup looks like freshly applied.
Same conditions, same environment. Same routine. Nothing else has changed.
Was not impressed by this at all. Nor by their d/c earlier version. Didnt seem to last at all. Urban Decay Primer Potion is sooooooooo much better than this!
This Mary Kay product isn't the best eye primer I've ever tried: it's cheap, but my eye shadows smudge after 3/4 hours. It definitely doesn't prevent fading for all day wear.
I have tried several eye primers- some brands from Drug Stores and more expensive ones (Lancome- the one in the pen and the "base"), and this one has overall done what it's supposed to do. I don't put lotion on my eyelids in the morning after I wash my face, put a little of this on, and I'm good to go until I wash it off at night. I would say cheap eyeshadow might not stick as well as better ones, but I don't know, I have issues with eyeshadow creases, so I do everything I can to make sure it looks good. I would buy this by the barrel.
Also works under eyes with a little foundation over for dark circles!
First let me just say that I'm a huge fan of Mary Kay products. Many of them are far superior to anything else I've tried. Years ago, I was bemoaning the fact that my eye shadow creased so easily to a friend. She told me about Mary Kay's Triple Action Eye Enhancer and she swore by the stuff. I bought the TAEE and ended up adoring it! My eye shadow went from creasing in 2-3 hours to lasting for 15 hours without a crease! Amazing! Imagine my surprise when I went to buy a new tube of TAEE and found that MK had discontinued it and "replaced" it with the Eye Primer. My first thought was, "I'd bet it's better than TAEE." so I bought it. Boy was I wrong! My eyeshadow starts creasing within 5-6 hours with this stuff. Nowhere near the 15 hours of wear I got out of the TAEE.
I spend a lot of money on the MK stuff I love but they can say goodbye to me as an eye primer customer. I've seen a couple of suggestions for MAC Paints on here from disgruntled MK Eye Primer users and I thank you for posting about the MAC Paints because that's what I'm going to try next.
A small amount goes a long way. I prefer using the eye primer when I wear shimmery, loose eye shadow. Otherwise, the staying power is diminished.
