I have oily skin and sometimes have dry patches on my skin. And this moisturizer said it was for all skin types and claims that it was lightweight and non-greasy. I heard a lot of dermatologists recommend this product. But right away, I used a tiny bit and it was greasy. I waited for it to set and it still felt so greasy. My chin was really dry when I used this, and when I applied on my chin, it just burned so badly. It has SPF, which I love, but I can't apply this around my eye. It might not burn at first, but if I rub my eye or something it will start to burn like crazy. I really do not like this product, maybe it just didnt work for me since my skin isn't very dry anymore.
I really like the packaging.
There, I said something positive. Now on to the actual review: BURNING itchy flaky skin, that's what I experienced after using this product. unbelievably, I gave it a second and third try because I accidentally didn't throw it out and each time I was out of my HG moisturizer I would give it a shot.... Always the same results. BURNING awful!
Last year, I had a difficult time with my skin and used too many harsh products that stripped the oil from my skin. At the beginning of this year, I was determined to improve my skin. So I simplified my skincare routine, and based off of recommendations, I purchased this moisturizer from Cetaphil. This product comes in very convenient bottle (4 fl oz) with a locking pump, and it travels very well. One full pump dispensed more than enough product for both my face and neck. The texture is lightweight, does not have a scent, and has SPF 15. Although my skin went from super dry and dehydrated to back to my normal/combination skin after 3 months of daily use, there are still a few drawbacks that make me not completely satisfied with this product. Even through it claims to be a "non-greasy formula," it does, in fact, feel a bit greasy/oily. When I first apply this moisturizer, my face is super shiny, and the product takes at least 5 minutes to absorb and dry. Also, I still experience a brief burning/tingling sensation upon application. Despite these drawbacks, my skin did clear up in 3 months. However, I am definitely keeping a lookout for something better.
i have been looking for a moisturizer that does not irritate my skin and is light-weight. i found this bottle in Rite-aid and decided to give it a try.
this moisturizer has SPF and is suitable for all skin types.
i usually use a tiny amount(1/2 pea size) after my shower all over my face and neck. the packaging is very nice - i like the locking pump type thingy
the problem is the product inside - it just sits on my skin and my skin does not feel soft. Whenever i use this moisturizer under my long wearing matte foundation , i get shiny within 2-3 hours.
i do not use this product anymore as it does not moisturize my skin, does not have enough SPF or is not light-weight enough for my oily skin.
I'm getting really annoyed with hunting for a moisturizer comparable to Doves DISCONTINUED Daily Facial Lotion (it was THEE HG of all moisturizers for me....im truly kinda mad at Dove. lol Anywayyy.... I bought this about a month and a half ago and was super skeptical mainly because it felt, looked and SMELT like pure sunscreen. I decided to just ignore it and give it a shot anyway... bad idea.
I would say it seemed to do an OK job of moisturizing but it definitely makes you oily (which is something I've never had to deal with and now can sympathize with those who have naturally oily skin...omg what a PAIN!!) It doesn't seem to absorb, rather just sits on the surface and as others have said the BURNING is harshhh! I too had to literally hold toilet paper on both eyes till get stopped watering which then made them bright red. After this I began to be incredibly careful not to put it near my eyes and not touch my eyes what so ever till I washed my hands. At that point I decided to just use the rest of the bottle till I researched a new one to try....another bad idea. I began to get tiny whiteheads on my entire forehead, my chin, my cheeks and under my ears around my jaw. I never get whiteheads on those areas and have dry/normal skin that hasnt ever had any sensitivity issues either. I stopped using it the last 4 days and my skin is clearing up super fast needless to say I KNOW it was due to this stupid cheap CRAP (you wouldnt guess it was cheap by the $14-15 price tag). I absolutely HATE everything about it and if I could I'd take all the bottles of the shelves and trash them so nobody else has to even bother with this stuff. BACK ON THE HUNT...damnit!!! :(
This is not a good moisturizer for delicate skin. Everytime I put this on my face it literally burned. My eyes would water up because it burned and stung so much. It also made my face really red after applying. I did not use it enough to note any breakouts because I couldn't bear the burning. The only thing I like about this product is the good packaging, but good packaging means nothing if the product itself doesn't work.
I bought this moisturizer because I have sensitive skin but I find it burns when I put it on and if it gets anywhere near my eyes, watch out!!! They burn like crazy for about 20 minutes. My skin doesn't even feel moisturized after I put it on. I was really disappointed in this product.
I bought this originally because I was out of my clinique moisturizing gel and wanted to try a cheaper alternative. I think this lotion is okay. I like that it has SPF in it. But it made my face shinny, I would recommend a matte primer over this to help tone down shine (especially if you have oiler skin). Also the lotion felt like it was burning my face a little right after applying. Not sure what that means... Overall its a mediocre product, but once the bottle is done, I'm going straight back to clinique.
I like Cetaphil's daily moisturizer for many reasons. One, for the fact that it contains SPF to prevent a bit of aging in a sense. Two, because it is pretty healthy in terms of ingredients. Three, because in comparison to some other facial moisturizers and/or primers it is slightly more moisturizing/you could say "oily" as base (enough to act as a primer) and allow foundation to sit on top. I tried a primer before and it didn't do as well as a job to stick the foundation (I use powder only) onto the skin. Great stuff. The only issue I've experienced is overall face shine which could be resolved by handy dandy blotting tissues I keep around. What I'm looking for would be an even more healthier facial moisturizer but it's quite a catch for the price & as back-up I must say :)
i actually really like this moisturizer!! :)
its pretty lightweight on my skin, although i only use it at night, so i don't really need perfection...
also i really like the smell! it just smells..clean. not even like a flowery kind of fragrance, but not a doctors office-y thing either!
-every now and then it kinda burns..
-doesnt really help flaking skin
-can be a LITTLE thick...
