The first note which strikes you here is blackcurrant, not the fresh fruit, but a warm, sweet, jammy scent. Lily of the valley and mimosa waft lightly around the blackcurrant notes for an slightly chilly and floury touch. I have never been able to smell the alleged cocoa in this scent, but there is a pronounced deep tone of wet clay which balances the lightness of the delicate fruit/floral notes. Like most of Annick Goutal's earlier scents, this is straightforward, pretty and feminine, rather than elegant, the white T shirt rather than the couture gown. For the young or the youthful.

I find this to be a very strange-smelling perfume. It is sweet, but also has this weird kind of "after-smell" which is not so pleasant.

Charlotte is my favorite Annick Goutal fragrance. It is such a pretty smell. This is the only one I would ever consider buying :) Hopefully, I'll get it for Christmas!

Eau de Charlotte gives an apricot floral impression, warm and classy.

Of all the Annick Goutals I have smelled, this is the one I find the most intriguing. Its currant and cocoa - created for Goutals daughter Charlotte. The currant is very tart, and followed up by the sweet and powdery cocoa, its quite different and pretty. Its somewhat of a "yummy" fragrance, although the initial scent is quite sour and takes some time to dry down before reach full yumminess.

to combat the short lastingness of this fragrance i layer with palmers cocoa butter which brings out the powdery cocoa scent just a touch more.

Great fragrance.
