I am not sure about all the poor reviews on here...it seems we are reviewing different products...
I am always on the lookout for a good mascara. I do curl my eyelashes and typically use a waterproof mascara at least as a base coat to keep the curl but I didnt even need that with this mascara. Some of my fav mascaras are: Christian Dior, Buxom, and Givenchy.
-Package is not round so it doesnt roll around on my vanity
-Color is deep black
-Does not lengthen as much as i expected
-Wand is too long making it awkward to get adequate pressure when applying
-Must apply at least 2 coats to get volume/length
It really does make your eyelashes look thicker and longer :) The thickness doubled and so did the length. It made me look like I was wearing false eyelashes!
I saw a bunch of negative reviews and I don't know what their talking about. I love it and I will definitely buy it again! :)
Can you say gloppity, glop, glop? I've been wanting to try this out and I finally caved. I have long, straight lashes and I normally use WP mascara to hold curl, but I gave this a shot because I heard it holds like glue. That may be true, but this just glopped onto my lashes and they remained stick straight with no curl (after using an e/l curler) The wand is long and tapered and doesn't pick up too much product, which I really liked, but the formula didn't work for my eyelash type. Also feel the packaging is a bit tacky.
I love the classy gold tube of course, but am middle of the road about the actual mascara. It seems to create length for me, but not really volume, and it flakes. Lame. Oh well, I continue my search for the perfect mascara!
I had big hopes for this mascara, but was greatly disappointed. The formula is so wet and goopy that I had a hard time keeping mascara from getting all over my lids. It gave minimal length, but good volume. However, it weighed down my lashes and removed all curl. Plus, it was a mess to remove.
Blah. Im always on the lookout for a better mascara but this one sucked. It did not do much for volume or length. The big brush was nice but this felt like applying glue on to my eyelashes, yuck. It is impossible to remove and comes off in flakes. It fades and falls out a lot. It was $14 too which is kind of a lot for drugstore quality. Overall, its a sticky clumpy mess.
I was so excited when I first saw this at my local face values. Being a mascara junkie, I had always wanted to try another American mascara which utilized fibers in their formula. (I tried Falsies but didn't like it at all.) I am a big fan of Voluminous so I got this. The first time I wore this out to dinner with my family. From across the table, my mother asked why I was wearing false lashes. I told her that I wasn't and that I had on a new mascara! I even got more excited because my mom remarked how long my lashes looked! I took off one lip just bc I wish it provided as much volume as it does length. But till then, I will be hunting for the perfect mascara/primer to pair this with! Definitely my new fave mascara ;)
This is a mediocre mascara in my opinion. It delivers on volume, but not well enough for me to purchase again. The fibers tend to promote clumping and this one just isn't for me, but might be beneficial for someone who needs additional volume to their lashes. My lashes are fairly long and have natural volume. I felt the fibers on my natural lashes were overkill.
I bought this on a whim while I was at Wal-Mart one day. I was drawn in by the promise of long, 'false' looking lashes.
First of all, it was a little pricey at about $8 or $9. Thinking it would be worth it, though, I went ahead and purchased it.
Secondly, this mascara is nothing more than your basic mascara. It certainly does NOT make your lashes look longer or more voluminous; it just covers your lashes like a basic mascara does.
Lastly, I have a hard time making this mascara hold a curl. I have to curl my lashes before and twice after application, and still the curl doesn't last.
Overall, this is an overpriced mascara that doesn't do what it says. It doesn't make your lashes look longer, it doesn't hold a curl, if you apply too much it can begin to look clumpy, the brush itself isn't too good, and it's expensive. I would stick to a waterproof Maybelline mascara; they tend to be cheaper, hold their curl, and usually do a better job than this.
I dislike this mascara even MORE now. I wasn't doing any physical activity, but after wearing this mascara for three or four hours, it smudged really bad underneath my eyes--I had black mascara underneath both of my eyes!
By itself this is a pretty "meh" mascara. It doesn't volumize as much as it lengthens and it gets clumpy if you try to build with it. I tried pairing this with The Falsies Volum Express though and all I can say is WOW it's really like I've got false lashes! My lashes are so long and thick they look unnatural. And you CAN build with this mascara, just make sure to comb it well afterwards to get the clumps out and don't build as much with it as you would a regular mascara.
