LOVE this product works great for all my shadows and the skin tone is perfect i use it sometimes just by itself for a natural nude eye. I wish it was it a squeeze tube or something kind of inconvenient in the little jar ( I have acrylics on usually but if i didn't would be even better oh well small price to pay)
i really dont know what went wrong in this.... i was so excited trying this one because of high rating and good reviews i'v read about it. The first time i've tried it, love the consistency and the shade, it can double up as concealer to me.. i really really want to like this but...... only but is IT CREASES! i've tried putting the tiniest amount i can put but still it creases!!!!!! i even tried putting monistat primer on my lid before this but still it creases!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i even tried warming this up like a concealer but still it creases!!!!!!!! how will i ever make this thing work right.. disappointing..
The tone of this product may seem dark to those with light or cool skin tones, but considering that you're gonna put shadows on top, those would quickly cover that up. Becuase it's "skin tone", though, it makes for a great evening of the skin tone on the lids, in the crease, and on the brow bone. Besides, the formula is creamy and light, and actually melts into the skin and blends really well with whatever skin tone you have. I happen to have warm, yellow-toned skin, and it blends perfect with my skin tone. It does help colors pop much better, as well as stay longer. There was minor creasing, but only after several hours of dancing and sweating, plus I do not use eyeshadow primers. I'm sure if I were not sweating for hours, the shadows would have stayed perfectly put for a long time. The formula is creamy enough that you can blend it onto the skin without having to press too hard or rub, the consistency is great. The important thing, though, is that a little goes a LONG way, you hardly need any, really (this means the product itself will last you long). I'm sure if you pack on more, there will be increased chances of creasing, especially for those who might have oily lids. I do not have oily lids, and find that I don't need a primer at all under this for shadows to stick and not crease. I bought mine on ebay for about $6, shipping included, and it was so worth it.
I've been using this for about a week. I think it works just fine as an eyeshadow base. I've noticed a lot of people think this is the same thing as UDPP, however this is a BASE, not a PRIMER. Two completely different thinks folks!
Edit: I decided I'm not repurchasing this again because I reach for my mac paintpot way more and this is just in the way. :-( sorry nyx!
I got this eyeshadow base to test it out. I got it in skintone so the colors will come out around the same shade as compared to the white and pearl they offered. So far I'm liking the product a lot! I got to say is one of the best I've tried. I tested it with all types of shadows, from top name brands to drugstore to dollar eyeshadows and it made my color really pop! It also lasted around 6 hours I would say since I don't ware makeup all day. I would most defenitly buy again! Its a great bargain as well.
-alot of product [7g] for the price..contains more than a MAC PP[5g]
-comes in a jar as opposed to UDPP or loreal decrease
-can be easly applied with fingers or a brush
-make eyeshadows pop
-blends into your skin very smoothly
-a little goes along way
-can be used as a concealer, base, primer
-looks & smells just like the "NYX concealer in a jar" [almost the exact same ingredients]
-costs more than the concealer in a jar which is the exact same thing
-only comes in 3 shades [white;same as NYX's JEP in milk, pearl, and skintone]
-definitely not 100% crease proof, Ive never wear my makeup for more than 6 hrs, it started creasing a little by the sixth hr
I don't think I will be repurchasing this base again...if I do decide to try this again I'd rather just buy a concealer..lol!! I do like the price and the fact that it does the job but seriously why buy this when its just a concealer!! It doesnt do anything special that any other concealer wouldnt do if used as a primer, I do love the packaging, the fact that you can use all the product without struggling, so there you have it..my quick review...
I love this. the color does seem a little dark at first but it does blend incredibly well. it's really creamy and stays put forever. have not had one crease or color out of place all day. my eyelids are practically transparent and this stuff covers it completely creating the perfect base. Love that it comes in a pot and not a tube. I will def be ale to use every last bit of this. This is def my HG for primers. Dont think I will ever buy another kind again as long as NYX keeps making this.
This is a great product. It's pretty much the exact consistency of their concealer in a jar. The color is a medium, neutral to warmish skin tone, I'm a NW20 and while it's not my color, it blends really well and I have no problems with it.
This completely neutralizes my lids and gives me a perfect blank canvas. My shadows blend over it well, no grabbing or streaking, and boy do they stay put! I have no creasing problems, I think the secret is to not use much at all and just blend it out.
I love this product! It grabs and holds my shadows very well, making and keeping colors vibrant! I seems to be the same formula as the Jumbo Eye Pencils, just in a pot.
The color is a little yellow for my uber-pale face so I only use a little bit on the end of my finger and blend well, and that is normally plenty. I've seen no creasing and no fading. This has replaced UDPP for me!
The only gripe i have about this product is the pot is a little hard to tip a finger into if your nails are even moderately long, so you might need to use a small concealer brush. Otherwise, I love this product. :)
Creasing is a deal-breaker for me. Yes, this primer brings out the best color in my eye shadow, but that means nothing when four hours later there is gunk in my crease and the surrounding area is looking like my bare eyelid.
I haven't used UDPP because of my sensitive/aging skin, but Lumene's eye primer has done well for me.
The dark/warm color of NYX Eyeshadow Base in "Skin Tone" isn't a problem at all. My shadows really look great on top of it. The packaging is great--a pot similar to MAC Fluidline, but a little larger. The formula is like a super thick concealer. A first it feels like a little bit won't cover your lid, but I think it warms on your skin and smoothes out.
I had doubts that a formula like this would stay grease-free completely. Wish I had been wrong.
