haters to the left! i like this mascara because it lifts the lashes. i curl them (they're long but stick straight), and then if i use this at the base, they keep that curl. i have to wipe excess off the brush but i do that with my lancome hypnose as well. i wanted it for the brush as i'm not a fan of the newer plastic types. however, the formula is a bit rich and tends to gunk up the brush a little. again, swipe some off and you're good to go. its a more intense glam look than i go for day to day, and usually i stick to l'oreal voluminous, but lately have been reaching for this to go out and its been working great to keep my lashes fluttery.
when i first got this, i was pleasantly surprised... it seemed to work as well as any other drugstore mascara i've tried at less the price. however, after the first week, it started flaking within 4 hours of applying it and i started getting raccoon eyes (not cute). by the time i took the mascara off at night, there was nothing to take off except my eyeliner... which made sense since the mascara i applied at the beginning of the day had all smeared, transferred or flaked off. threw this out before the end of the first month and won't be repurchasing it.
My lashes don't need a lot of work, at least not with mascara. It's the curler that does the heavy lifting. Neverthless I like this mascara. I prefer big brushes for a thicker look & the fact that this formula isn't too wet or dry is why I'm still using it up. Holds my curl all day & doesn't flake. I don't need contacts, therefore I don't wear them but I have sensitive eyes & this hasn't caused any problems. The darkness of this product is good though I can't compare to HE mascaras because I'm too afraid to fork out too much $'s for a product I don't like. Hence why the relative cheap price of this causes it to be in my good books. I say relative because here in Australia you're looking at about 22 bucks. Not bad, but not cheap as chips either.
I bought this mascara for the first time today. I bought it in blackest black. I was pleased with the product because it was REALLY cheap (less than $5). I always see that the Maybelline Great Lash brand makes a lot of 'best' lists in magazines so I figured I would try it out. I will have to get used to the wand but that's no big deal. I think the bottom line is this is a good product for the price. My first choice is Dior Show mascara but since I am trying to save money, I am okay with using this!
***I had to add to my review of this product. Since wearing this, I notice that the product runs a lot and it looks like I have black eyes sometimes. I also find that my eyes are itchy, burn, and are watery since I started using this product. I bought the waterproof version so I am a little disappointed that the product runs off so easily. I don't think I will buy this product again.
The brush is nice and feels like it's getting all the lashes but the mascara has a tendency to get all over below your eye even if you didn't put it on your bottom eyelashes. It didn't really do as good a lengthening job as the normal great lash.
LOVEEEEE ITTT! I have the very black one and i like the way it gives my lashes so much volume and length, but it still seperates them pretty well. I love how great lashes black is really dark, because i want my eyes to stand out. I always think the first thing you should see on a persons face is there eyes. and its also very very very inexpensive! only $5!
At first , I didn't really like it , but then I decided to give it another try , I've got to admit , this product is AMAZING .
It gives my lashes big volume and great length , and the colour is really nice . I would definitely recommend it for all you girls out there if you want big, bold lashes .
i realllyy like this. im a huge fan of the original great lash anyway - it really lengthens my lashes and is soo black. but the ony issue is the tiny brush, it takes forever to apply. this brush is HUGE, and amazing! gives my lashes fullness, volume, and length. id recommend this is you like the formula of original great lash but not the brush.
I know that the original is suppose to be the holy grail of mascara but I could never get good results...until BIG! The brush makes all the difference. I get full, long, and fluffy lashes and for under 5 bucks!
*Edit: For some reason, this was fine the first few uses but since the tube is starting to dry it's just not doing what it once did. Back to Loreal Bare Naturale mascara for me!
I love this product ! It separates lashes well , it doesnt clump and gives good volume , for everyday use it's a very good mascara , however if you want dramatic effect than you shloud try another one !
