Ok - I love this moisturizer. My skin looks so much nicer the short time I've been using it. I'm not sensitive to the smell of the product so I don't think it smells all that bad.

I have two problems with it however. 1. My eyes burn from the fumes after I put it on. and 2. It doesn't contain any sunscreen.

This stuff is FAB! It moisturizes REALLY well and doesn't clog my pores. The only reason I am not giving it 5 stars is because of the smell. It's GROSS!!! Almost like a cross between herbal oils, lavender and fish. My 4 year old daughter refuses to come near me when I put it on. I do love it though. It changes my skin's over-all appearance.

Unfortunately, the smell of this product makes it unbearable for me. It smells like fish scales to me. I have no idea how well it moisturizes because I can't handle it. I've given it a week thinking I might get used to the smell but I just can't do it. I had high hopes for this because in general I absolutely love Philosophy products.

It moisturizers and makes my skin feel so soft. It makes my skin feel smooth and doesn't clog my pores (huge plus). My two complaints are that it smells like plastic, and it is in a pot. I'd love to see the fragrance and the packaging rethought. It would make it my HG. Even with those caveats, I'll probably still buy it again.

Update: ok, so I've used it again, and HATE the smell. I literally had to get out of bed and wash it off my face. Gave me a horrible headache. Bummer, because it really does make your skin glow.

Have used this in the past and recently purchased again...do not know why I ever strayed. This moisturizer is fantastic for my combo skin...it sinks right in and leaves skin hydrated but not "greasy". It also makes my skin look fantastic! I have been getting compliments like crazy since I started using this line. I know it does not work for everyone but I would still suggest giving it a try because it has worked wonders for me. No spots and has even helped clear up a few.

THis worked beautifully on my skin. It's the clearest it has ever been - and my skin runs sensitive and oily. My only complaint - this stuff has a strong aquatic smell. Still - if it continues to keep my skin clear - I'll manage.

I have bought many jars of this moisturizer over the years. My teenage daughter uses it and it does not aggravate her problem skin. I love how this sinks in right away and does not go to grease under my makeup. Smells clean but not fragrant.

I do have dry skin, but I thought this would give me something. Although I like the illuminating effects of it, I felt like I just put water on my face. I felt no hydrating effects of it whatsoever. I was really disappointed, considering I love Philosophy products. I'm confused why everyone loves it :|

I had read so many rave reviews about this product in the beauty pages of magazines I had to try 'Hope in a Jar'. Was it all I could hope for in a moisturizer? Sadly, for me it was not. I have combination skin and it moisturized where I have dryness but my face looked oily in the T-zone area. I was disappointed it does not have a sunscreen. I have since learned they do offer one with a sunscreen but it is tinted and I don't need that. It contains lactic acid a gentle AHA which exfoliates the top layers of your skin, but I did not see any major changes in my skin. I used this product faithfully, day and night, for about 2-3mths. Well, everything is not for everybody. I now use Olay Complete with an SPF of 15 for combination/oily skin and I love it!"

initially i loved this moisturizer, i ended up going back to hope in a jar twice. then by the third jar, i felt my skin wasn't looking better. (i have acne prone skin and i felt my skin was getting more conjested). so i decided to try hope in a bottle. hope in a bottle was a better match for me. the salicyclic acid in hope in a bottle help exfoliate my skin.
