I received a sample size of this and have used it on and off for a few weeks. It's not a bad mascara but it's nothing special either. It definitely trumps Shu Precise Volume, which I cannot stand, though both make my lashes feel a bit 'crispy'. Clinique being the lesser of two evils. It does not; however, compare with the Diorshow Unlimited. It lengthens decently as well as volumises, but tends to clump and kills my curl a bit. Probably wouldn't buy a full size.
Like another reviewer, I wish i could give this product a 3.5. I recieved this in my Christmas stocking a few years ago in a sample-sized tube. This is a very basic no fuss, no frills mascara with very simple yet elegant packaging and overall effect on the lashes. The most positive aspect of this is that it truly gave me the blackest, glossiest lashes I've ever experienced from any mascara. It defined and separated my lashes very well, but did not add the length, lift, and curl that I always want from my mascara. This volumizies a little bit, but its hardly noticeable. I might repurchase this to use underneath my Lancome Flexitencils to amplify the already rich and glossy black I get from it while still mantaining all the effects for necessary for my lash look.
This is an excellent mascara. I have pretty long lashes to begin with but this gives me beautiful definition, length and volume. It's one of those basic products I keep coming back to. It's not the most dramatic but it's very nice for everyday use. It doesn't smudge and wears very well but is also quite easy to remove at night. I've used up several tubes and I will continue to use it. For reference, some other mascaras I like are Maybelline Full and Soft, YSL Faux Cils (more dramatic than Clinique HI) and Lancôme Définicils.
This is my favorite mascara ever. It gives me huge fake looking lashes. My only complaint is that it seems to turn clumpy in the tube faster than my other mascaras.
As far as mascaras go, this one is average at best. I find it too heavy for my eyes, clumps easily & the tube dries out pretty quickly. I like a dramatic lash look, but this gave me clumpy spider-leg lashes rather than well-defined & voluminous lashes. A much better option: Clinique's high definition mascara.
This is definitely a perfect mascara if it is waterproof and does not smudge.
I bought this mascara and loved it at first. It does make your lashes appear to be thick, but it is has a rather clumpy texture. I am not sure if that is due to the brush or the mascara itself. I was also disappointed that it flakes off easily. I am a contact lens wearer so that is especially annoying to me. I loved the look of very dark, thick lashes, but it didn't last. Price wasn't too bad, I think $13. I have spent more looking for the perfect mascara. But I most likely will not repurchase due to the flaking issue.
I am no mascara elitist because there’s really no point with my nonexistent lashes, but all in all this is a pretty decent mascara. It would be even better if I had lashes to begin with, grumble grumble. It’s one of those mascaras that accentuates what you already have – not very heavy and voluminizing or lengthening by lifting your lashes. I think it’s comparable to Maybelline Full N Soft, but better. I love using this as my base mascara to lift up and separate my lashes before applying my heavier mascaras. However, I think Full N Soft is almost as good and for way cheaper. But like I said I’m no mascara snob to begin with.
I received this in a GWP. This applied on so clumpy that even a lash comb could not save my lashes from being one huge glob of black goo. The brush itself is so thick and useless. I felt like I was applying spackle to my lashes. I gave it a good try (one full week of use) but ended up tossing it in the trash at the end of the week. I just could not like this product, no matter how hard I tried. Even wiping the brush with a paper towel (before applying) did not help with the uneven clumpy application. I don't see how anyone could actually pay good money for such an awful product. BTW, I'm Asian with (obviously) almond-shaped eyes, so the brush applicator shape play a big part in a successful (or unsuccessful) mascara appliction, in addition to the mascara formula, of course.
This is just an average mascara really. I have good lashes already - long thick and curly - and this just does the same most other mascaras do. I found it took too long to dry and smudged if i wasn't careful enough. I think this would be better for people with less volumous lashes already! I did like the brush, and the packaging is nice and smart. Wouldn't buy again just because it wasn't as great as the No 7 mascara I am addicted to!
